God's love towards man is illustrated in different parables and modes all through scriptures. Up until the death of Christ on the cross of Calvary and even till date, the depth of the love of God for mankind can only be a reassuring factor for everything else.

It is God's love only.

Damilola Funso-Adu in this book describes God's love for the believer and the unsaved. It's a worthy read.

The New Man Movement has commenced the 2020 edition of its annual Creative and Literary Writing Contest in Nigeria with a call for entries.

Application Deadline: 1st April, 2020.

Theme: “Politics in Nigeria”

About Award
In its 5th year, the New Man Writing Contest is targeted at junior and senior secondary school students in Nigeria. It is organised annually, as part of The New Man’s education initiative which is aimed at combing through the forest of literary virginity in these students, promoting reading culture and encouraging healthy, intellectual competition amongst secondary school students in Nigeria and the world. We also believe that positive creative writing has its influence in the birth of new men. This is why our target writers are at the secondary school level.

Selection Criteria and Eligibility
Be a Secondary School student
Must submit Drama, Poetry, Prose or Essay Writing.

Value of Award: Cash Prize for Overall Category Winners (Senior and Junior Categories) and Specific Prizes for Poetry, Drama, Prose and Essay categories (Senior and Junior secondary writers)

Selection procedure:
Entries received for the competition will be reviewed by a distinguished panel of judges as revealed via our website here. They will then shortlist 12 best essays for further assessment.
Applicant must submit their complete contact information (Name and Address of school telephone number, residential and email addresses.

On Monday, 10th February, members and representatives of the New Man Movement visited Oduduwa College, Ile-Ife to present cash prizes to Adeniran Adeleke, the overall winner of the 2019 writing contest.

According to an earlier release from the organisation, Adeleke emerged the overall best in the 2019 edition of the New Man Writing contest alongside Adewonuola Esther and Edechukwu Matthais.

The New Man Writing Contest is a yearly writing contest to comb out the forest of literary virginity in students of secondary schools across Nigeria. In it's fifth year, the contest has received well over 5,000 entries since inception.

Addressing the students, the representatives of the organisation, Adewumi Josephine and Adedoyin Fisayo encouraged the students' participation in self-discovery and development initiatives such as the New Man Writing Contest.

The Principal and Vice Principal of the school, Mr Sanusi Ademola and Mrs Salami Omolola, while congratulating Adeniran Adeleke, thanked and commended the efforts of the organisation.

In absentia, Nelson Vincent, President of the New Man Movement, expressed his satisfaction at the success of the writing contest. He stated that the 2020 Call for entries would be released soon. He also enjoined interested individuals to share the details of the writing contest and as well encourage young ones to write.

The New Man Movement , in a release via her website announced winners to her 2019 writing contest.

The writing contest which received entries all over Nigeria from July to October 2019 released her shortlist late last year.

According to the release, Adeniran Adeleke, Adewonuola Ifeoluwa Esther and Edechukwu Matthais emerged as first, second and third place prize winners respectively for the 2019 edition of the New Man Writing Contest.

The New Man Writing Contest received entries from across 58 secondary schools in Nigeria with 1,012 total entries composing
Poetry - 346 poems, 214 prose works, 291 essays and 161 drama pieces.


Adeniran Adeleke won the first prize with his essay "African Heritage and Values" while Adewonuola Ifeoluwa Esther, followed with her poem "My name is Africa" and Edechukwu Matthais' essay "The Future of Harms and Hopes" came third place.


The judges appraised the winning entries as diverse in style with mentions to exceptional creativity, judicious use of imagery, especially seen in the skillful use of symbols and metaphors.

The New Man Writing Contest Prize, initiated in 2016, solely aims to comb out the forest of literary virginity and creativity among students of secondary schools in Africa. She has received over 2,000 entries since inception, with winning entries from Ojuko Temitayo, Arukuje Olusegun, Agu Gift, Osinachi James, Onyekwelu Chinwenite Kingsley, Opeyimika Aremu, Oladoyin Ayodeji Victor, and Enomah Exploit Ebubechukwu in previous editions.

In the release, Nelson Vincent, the President of The New Man, a gospel media organisation congratulated the winners and enjoined the general public to anticipate the 2020 edition of the contest.

Having properly selected of 1,012 interesting entries in total, the New Man Writing Contest Organising Body thus confirms that these entries have made the final shortlist for 2019.

This shortlist is the final from three others and sieved out from the mass collection of 214 prose works, 161 drama/short plays, 346 poems and 291 Essays that were submitted as entries from across 58 secondary schools in Nigeria.

It has been a great privilege to read through miles in the minds of these young writers and select our final shortlist.

At the same time, we are greatly indebted to our volunteers, individuals and members of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), members of Poets In Nigeria (PIN), members of Creative Writers Association of Nigeria (CWAN) and other literary bodies that ensured the speedy selection of these works.

While we proceed to the final judgement stage where our diligent judges would make the top three selections, we congratulate and wish all shortlisted entrants the best in this last stage.

The New Man Writing Contest is a yearly literary writing contest organised by The New Man Movement, a positive youth organization with vibrant minds that desire a change in society beginning with the youths.

At The New Man Movement, we believe that writing has a power to change men from the old to the new. This is why in it's fourth year, The New Man Writing Contest is targeted at the promotion of literary works by combing through the forest of literary virginity amongst secondary school students.

CONTEST FEATURES:

1. Entry for this Contest is FREE
2. This contest is ONLY open to ACTIVE students of secondary schools in Nigeria.
3. There are two Contest Categories
a. Junior Secondary Category
b. Senior Secondary Category.
4. Submission Opens from the 24th of July and runs through 29th October, 2019.
5. The general Theme for the Contest is ''African Heritage and Values'' Participants in the contest may choose to modify titles depending on the genre. However, titles must link to the central theme.

The New Man Writing Contest is a yearly contest organised by The New Man Movement, a body of young vibrant minds that desire a change in society, that begins with the youths; with the believe that writing has a power of changing men from the old to the new.


In its third year, The New Man Writing Contest is targeted at the promotion of literary works by combing through the forest of literary virginity in students of secondary schools, exploring the diversities of culture and personalities in Africa and keeping the bond of unity in creativity.. The 2018 edition would be hosted in honour of H.R.M, Oba Adedokun Abolarin Omoniyi, Aroyinkeke 1, the Orangun of Oke-Ila Orangun, Osun, Nigeria.


Submission Modalities.

Note: Entry fee is FREE

1. This contest is open to ALL STUDENTS of Secondary Schools IN AFRICA.

2. Entries should be sent via mail to newmanwritingcontest@gmail.com

3. The biography of the writer should be contained below the body of the mail (preferably after the submission) in no less than 100 words.

4. Length of submissions
a. PROSE: Maximum, 8000 words.
b. POETRY: Maximum, 200 lines.
c. DRAMA: Maximum, 5 Acts.

This Contest is open from November 18th, 2017- March 21st, 2018.

All winners would be announced on this platform and ALL Media Partner Platforms.


Prizes:
