Unrealistic numbers right Here for offshore or overseas applications. 100 seems to be the new golden number...
Those points are not the usual EOI points but ACT Matrix points which is totally different from SkillSelect EOI.

I also used my Niaja Engoneering degree for EA assessment.

I never said you could not assess your Nigerian Engineering degree of 5years duration from Nigeria through CDR path way.

So what was your assesment result from EA?
Please kindly care to share?

Equivalent to Australian degree and it fetches me 15points for Skill Migration point.

not me.

Engineer's Australia.
Nigeria is not a full signatory of Washington Accord.
If you are referring to Skill Assessment from EA then your are mixing it up,
You can actually assess with EA with an Engineering degree of 5years duration from Nigeria through CDR path way.

I used my naija degree for EA assessment.

Hi Guys,

I am temporary resident in Australia (482) VISA and looking to get a visiting visa for my parent.
i have checked homeaffairs on possible visas for them. There is the Tourist VISA (off-shore applicant) and Family sponsorship VISA stream.

Would any one be able to give me a guide on the best route to take, cos i noted the Family Sponsorship seems to be only applicable to either PR or citizens while the tourist stream does not incorporate me sponsoring the entire trip and living arrangement.

Comments from temporary/permanent residents or citizens who has successful gotten a visiting visa for parents while still a temporary visa will be highly appreciated.

Thank You.
Subclass 600 (apply outside Australia) since the applicant is offshore, there will be a section to upload supporting documents after payment.

Make sure your application is very tight as there's high rate of visitor's visa rejection lately.

Good morning house, Please I need counsel on how to go about my PR application. I studied food science and tech in lautech and I'm currently study MBA in KBS Adelaide Australia. Before traveling I worked as a production manager in a food processing company.

Please I'll appreciate your advice. Thanks

MBA won't give you anything more than 3years post study work visa and 5points for Australian degree.
You should be able to assess with Engineer in Australia as a food Technologist with your degree from Lautech or Production Manager with Vetassess since you once worked as a production manager.

Good morning, House. I appreciate the contributors to this forum who have been answering the various questions.
I reside in Nigeria. I am in my late thirties. My wife & I have decided to get a PR for Australia. She is a lecturer in one of the state's Uni & has a Ph.D in Early Childhood Education. We are in our late
(1) Which among the options is the best (i.e easier, faster) option or us;
(2) How much will it cost?
I'll appreciate your answers please.

Early childhood is hot cake in Australia provided that she can get positive assessment from the assessing body which is ACECQA, she can as well assess as a Uni lecturer with Vetassess.

Is this route still actually working?

100% working, just that certain occupations are favoured more likewise some skill assessment are pretty straightforward as compare to others.

Grants slow down towards the mid of June but it seems things are picking up as there's couple of grants in the last 48hrs.

I get your point. I just wonder why they still refused my friend who HND apply for the same Advanced diploma course as well.

HND is equivalent to Advanced Diploma, your friend should go for package program something like graduate diploma with pathway to Msc.

I'm currently onshore in Sydney. Occupation is Mech Engr. 190 EOI was lodged for VIC, WA and NSW. Single 189 was lodged.

The financial year is almost over and most state have suspended application/nomination till maybe early Aug after receiving slots for next financial year.

No one can predict exactly what will happen next financial year regarding 189,
Base on this financial year, VIC won't nominate you while living in another state and you will need a job offer in WA for 190.
PS: Hardly will a state nominate for 190 while living in another state.
WA may nominate you but you will have to move to the state and provide evidence of residency and job offer with 60days.
All these are based on this financial year requirements for nomination.

THIS IS NOT TO DISCOURAGE ANYONE. These guys are on visa refusal spree for Nigerians at the moment just for economic reasons and I think it's traceable to the interview that UK guy granted BBC. If you are yet to hear from the embassy, u have to be more prayerful and also seeking alternatives, if you are applying to AU pz don't put all your eggs in one basket.
Bless u all
This is totally untrue, rejection has always been in place since the time of paper based application and not because of interview granted by someone far away in UK.
Some rejection are just because of Case officer's discretion while most are due to applicant's minor error and no justification between chosen course of study and previous degree as well as choice of institution couple with not so tight SOP.

For every one visa rejection from Nigeria, there is Tens if not hundreds of Indians visa rejection, those that means that someone also granted interview in India?

PS: Some schools do not accept applications from Indians in certain states due to high level of bogus degrees and documents.

Will a PhD in Accounting make me eligible for PR after graduation?
PhD will just give you an edge as Accounting is one of the courses ppl are really finding it difficult to secure a PR with in the last couple of years.
There are so many Accounting graduates onshore but all hope is not lost, if you can avoid states like Victoria, NSW and Queensland.
With enough publications and a tight profile, you can also try the option of global talent.

Thank you for your reply. On the list, there is Health managers, Health welfare managers, Ennviromental Health officers etc. They are the likely career paths for somebody that studied
Masters of Public Health.
How difficult/easy it is to get jobs generally in the Health sector, asides Nursing, Care workers and so on.
And, should he just change into maybe something like clinical psychology? (But she loves Public health too much mind you).
Those professions you listed require at least a minimum of one year of working experience in the role to get a positive assessment.
I knew some people that were fortunate to secure jobs with similar job roles during Covid lockdown which aided their skill assessment but to be sincere getting a job in that sector with the job responsibilities you will need for skill assessment doesn't come easy but not impossible.
She still have option of writing APHRA exam (you can only write this twice in a lifetime) and if successful, she can practice her medical profession here.
The second option is switching to medical related course such as Nursing, Biomedical science etc while onshore as this will lead to PR quicker.
PS: Medical related professions are always in demand with a smiling salary.

Hello guys,
My wife want to study Masters of Public Health in Deakin University, as she did Medicine and Surgery at degree level with Federal Government scholarship in Morocco. She just graduated last year November.

Do you think she can apply now for the masters?
She has around $8,000 in her bank account in Morocco, and myself I have around 6 million naira in account.
Who do you think we should use as her sponsor?
The total cost is $27,800Aud per year.
And do you think she stands a good chance to get the admission?
And can we start now and still be able to make the July intake for the school?
We intend to apply as a couple, no child yet.
Your reply will be highly appreciated.
Thank you.
She stands a good chance, and I know few people that came through the same path.
Unfortunately Public Health is not on the Skilled Occupation List which means that the course won't be eligible for PR after graduation unless She will assess as a Health Promotion Officer which requires minimum of one year working experience.

Great job guys for all the feedback. It has helped a lot in achieving our goals. Just a quick one...I'm 5months pregnant and a prospective Msc student in Australia. I have applied for visa and did not indicate that I am pregnant. Do you think being pregnant can hamper my chances of getting a student visa? Candid opinion/advice please...
Being pregnant cannot hamper your grant but you have to notify your health insurance provider upon arrival and upgrade otherwise you will have to pay more than $18,000 out of pocket for giving birth in Australia on OSHC without waiting period of at least 12months.
Another thing is that your medical (xray) will shows that you are pregnant, so the best thing is just to declare that your are pregnant.

All visa applications are online,
Apply for Subclass 820 (Temporary spouse/de-facto Visa) then after two years you can apply for Subclass 801 (Permanent partner visa).

SOA is a requirement for GTE assessment in almost all schools.. But for visa if your sch is al1 is not a requirement, it is only in rare cases that the CO might request for it.
Deakin doesn't even require SOA for GTE in some courses
No need to drag this, I passed through the phase and I know a lot of ppl that recently pass through the phase including my brother in law.

I can't give you a comprehensive list but I know that RMIT do request for SOA lately for some courses before issuing eCOE and case officers still ask for same while Deakin do waive SOA for certain courses and you don't have to provide it while applying for visa.

Check the department of home affairs, search for your school..the requirements are there

Provided your school is AL1 you don't need soa for visa application.
Not all AL1 and besides some case officers do request for SOA irrespective of school.

I'm going for a master's degree in Australia, I already have bachelor and master degrees from Nigeria. My question is do I need IELTS in my student visa application?
It depends on school. Schools like Deakin do waive Test of English for certain courses and you don't have to provide it while applying for visa but the issue is, you will definitely need Test of English while going forward.

Please will this have any implications with my Australian visa application now and in the future?, Should I suspend this process now?. Please i need your urgent advice guys.

A friend of mine is in dilemma and has asked me give advice him on what do.

I'm confused myself, hence I'm bringing this here for those who are experienced to give their candid opinion.

My friend sent his wife to Australia 2 years ago on a student visa. He stayed back with the children and has been taking proper care of them since the wife left. The children are aged 10 and 8. The first child is in primary 6 and will enter secondary school next year. The second child, a boy, is in primary 4 and will move to primary 5 next year.

My friend's wifey just obtained her PR last month courtesy of one company she worked for and which nominated her.

Now the dilemma.

MY friends wifey wants the family to join her. The children are eager to move to Australia. But my friend is skeptical.
His skepticism comes from two main factors: 1) he is 49 Years, 2) He is gainfully ( by Nigerian Standard) employed. Takes home about N900k per month working for a private company.

My friend will not be able to support the family abroad if he is to allow the children to move to Australia while he remains in Nigeria. EG if he sends AUD 1500, a month to them ( which is about N750K), it wont be able to pay the children's school fees let alone feed.

My friend want to know whether to join the family and do any menial or odd jobs he can lay hands on and at least be able to join hands withd the wifey and see the children through university is Australia. Which to him will be a landmark achievement in life.

Please advice.

Government schools are free for dependants of Permanent resident till year 12 which is equivalent to our SS 3.
The kids will be eligible for HECS (Uni students loan) payable whenever they start working and earning certain amount.
So, the above shouldn't be an issue.

Your friend should apply along with his wife, apply for leave in his workplace and come to Australia to explore whether he will be able to integrate into the system before resignation.

Personally, I will choose Australia over Nigeria again and again even with more than 2million naira monthly income.

Need an advice please. If one's job is located at Southbank - Riverside Quay (Melbourne) what would be the best suburb closest to this to look for a house.
There is nothing like best suburb closest to Southbank, its all boils down to personal preference as the transport system is very good.
Its depend on your budget and the type of accommodation you are looking for, you can't go wrong with any suburb that is about 30mins by train to Southern Cross station and complete the rest with tram right outside the station.
PS: Try Western Suburbs but avoid Footscray, Sunshine and probably St. Albans. Just make sure that what you're going for is close to train station.

Nothing much will change next financial year as the budget and net migration figure are already in place. Any major changes aside states adjusting their requirements for nomination will likely be from July 2023 and hopefully Liberal won't stage a come back in 2025 as the new party leader Peter Dutton is not migrant friendly.

Hello fam. Please I need advice. I work as a Business Development Engineer in my dad's chemical and production company and I studied civil engineering. It is my wish to study Business analytics or business information systems for my msc, but my agent says I should opt for Engineering management. Because it's easier to connect to what I studied, and he says I can't always switch when I have entered the country.

I recently heard switching courses or schools will only be sanctioned by the minister. I don't know how feasible it will then be.

Please can anyone advise me on what best to opt for? BIS is a PR pathway course. I intend to use coming to take over my dad's company as my "I will come back home path".

I will really appreciate responses. Thank you smiley

Cc bligs, Solitin40, DreamlandAgency

No one can say for now how changing of course will be till July and presently some schools are making it difficult to release their students.
Run away from Business Analytics if your goal is PR, Business Information Systems if related to IT with Professional year after graduation may lead to PR.
Engineering Management will not lead to PR unless you work in a Managerial role after graduation.
Your Civil Engineering have an edge over all what you listed.
PS: You can go for Engineering Management provided that you can get a positive assessment with your Civil Engineering degree from EA for your PR parole.
