Lol yes, thank you.

Hi Bligs, thank you for airing your view on the question but I must say the beginning of your reply threw me off balance.

For clarification, that part of my question wasn't about dating OZ girls. The question was about dating/relationships in Australia and not limited to OZ girls.

I'm in my early 20s and so I think it's right I get as much information I can lay my hands on as regards my future and coming to Australia.

Thank you once again for your reply and the assistance you are giving to everyone with the pursuit of coming to Australia.

From my research, the key point I have come to understand about Australia is Information rules the country so I try to get informed as much as I can.

Warm Regards.
I am not trying to scare you, just saying that shouldn't be your priority but if it happens fine. Dating is allow across all race and you may even be fortunate to meet a very good Aussie, everything is up to you and what you want and on the other hand two years may pass without having a relationship. You are right, information is paramount and make sure you align with the right set of people.

Congrat bro!!

Please, I have 3 questions to ask.

1)Did you learn and enroll for NAATI to boost your Pr points?

2)If you look back at your journey from the Msc to getting your Pr now. What advice will you give upcoming pals like me with regards getting the Pr swiftly after Msc without facing any avoidable hurdles you might have faced to get your Pr?

3)Also, how is the dating/relationship life in Aussie from your own perspective?
You shouldn't be even thinking about this but if it happens fine, honestly most ppl that i know are living in regret, some old folks have to go back to naija to remarry secretly. Some are left in the lurch due to the waiting period of two years to get partner visa, the other party call it quit and they have to start all over again. There are many other pathways better than putting yourself in an uncertain situation. Also, over 60k backlog of people are on waiting list for partner visa, some are there for over two years and at the end of the day, you will find out that those that struggle to get their PR are ahead of you while you doing everything to satisfy your Aussie bride for things not go south.
Your best bet is schooling in a state that 190 or worst-case scenario 491 is guarantee after studies.
PS: Ask on the student thread about experience regarding dating Aussies talkless of marriage.

Congratulations

Please can you share your transition story from Visa 500 to 887. This may help ginger some people. Thanks
Student visa 500 to Regional visa 489 (now replaced with 491) to PR 887.
PS. The new 491 can't lead to 887, the condition for 491 to PR is making minimum of $53k in at least 3years out of the 5years duration.
There are some other classes of visa that can lead to 887 (495, 496, 475, 487)

Hi

I have a funny question

For the Griffith thats expensive, with MSc at around 32500 / year

If i get the entire 32500 before coming in for 1 year, will it be easy to get the other 32500 while working there? That means I have like 1 year headstart
Nobody can guarantee you this, not even now that Coro has interrupted nearly all sectors and will take a while for things to be back to normal, also its depend on individual and location.

hustla:

I think things will be a little relaxed by Jan/Feb next year

I may be wrong though
Relaxation for temporary visa holders to enter the country but same yardstick will be use to issue visa.

Change your program and make sure is on SOL, preferably Social work or go ahead and change while onshore but this will cost you money and time.

Would love to take up a Profession in Social work.
Child Social Work in particular
Please if you're on hre share your experience and how to get certificate and License
The only option is getting a diploma or degree in Social work.
PS: You can't go wrong with Social work as the profession is selling.

Public health won't give you anything other than two years post study work as it's not on the Skilled occupation list. To practise as a medical doctor, you have to write and pass the exam organise by AHPRA https://www.ahpra.gov.au/
PS: You can write the exam onshore or offshore, only two centres to write this exam in Africa, Egypt and South Africa, and atmost two seatings in a life time.
Also, there's nothing like cheap school in Australia as an average Msc will cost you around 4m per semester.
Apply with your kid, it is easier to get a grant in a single application than subsequent entrant.

Hi guys, so I recently graduated from an engineering masters degree and I plan on getting the Subclass 476 Skilled—Recognised Graduate visa for 18 months. My question is how possible is it that I can secure a PR afterwards.
Did you graduate from a University under the Dublin or Washington accord? If your degree is from Nigeria, you are not eligible.

Goodmorning.
I just stumbled through this forum.
I am interested going for an MSC in Data science in a low tuition Australian University.I was told I have to go through an agent(is this a must?).
Please I will be needing advice on how to go about the application process, also, how much i will be needing as my proof of funds, and what %of the tuition fees do I have to pay to get the visa?
I have over 10 years of marketing experience of which I spent 5 years working as a marketer in an ICT industry.
I am currently running a masters program in Unilag(we were supposed to have rounded up),the current ASUU strike as put things to a halt for now.
I would like to confirm if my chosen field of study can get me PR after my studies?
Nothing like low tuition university in Australia, an average Msc fee per semester in any university is close to 4m, with your years of experience have a look at the PR thread.

Thank you sir, I did the mock point assessment and my point was on 85 for 189 and I read 189 needs very high points esp. for EA professions.
Good morning all & happy Sunday
The occupation ceiling/cap for civil engineers in this financial year for 189 is 1000 slots and so far only 5ppl have been invited. The issue is if your are certain that your 5years working experience will be approve you can actually lodge two different EOI, one for 189 and hope that the points will drop to 85 and the other for VIC 190 then you go for whichever ITA that come first.

Logistics/Supply chains is big in Australia, you stand a chance of state sponsorship after your two years of studying in Tassie and the downside is jobs opportunities to support yourself and family is limited compare to other places. Prepare financially for at least your first year and you are good to go.

Hello everyone, happy to be here, please I am interested in the Australia PR process, I have a Civil Engineering bachelors degree and 5years 10 months related experience, please given the recent migration trends which profession is best to apply for (that gives faster 190/491 visa, EA, Draftsperson or a TRA profession).

Please I would really appreciate your opinions. Tnx
Assess with EA as a professional Civil engineer, if you can gather up to 90points go for 189 and if your 5years working experience isn't cut, hopefully Victoria won't change their conditions for 190 as regards to engineering professions come October then you can give 190 a trial with your 5years working experience. 491 comes with conditions depending on states.

Another question, is it possible to get jobs in disability care without doing the 8weeks training? There was an argument about this in students thread.
Very possible to work in disability without any certification like Cert IV or diploma and experience. You just need First Aid, CPR, Police check, Working with children check etc. Though, if you wanna go far and make good money as a support worker, you will need a certification and Australian driving licence.

Tell the person to sponsor you on TSS 482 visa and also have it at the back of your mind that chances of getting to Australia this year is slim due to the pandemic.

Your first arrival must not be after 04 March 2020 and the length of your stay expire by 22 May 2021. Contact DHA and tell them about your situation which was due to the pandemic, hopefully something good may comeout of it, like changing the dates of your grant.
Guess you study Engineering in one of the Uni under Washington or Dublin accord.

Hi, Good evening. Please i need clarification on this.

Is engineering management and biomedical engineering in the sol and csol of 2020?
When i check the list, i can see engineering managers. I don't what to assume so i need proper clarification if Msc engineering management or Msc Biomedical engineering in Australia will lead to PR?

Cc Bellong and others.
Thank you!!
Biomedical engineering is more straightforward, you just need a positive assessment from EA while with Engineering Management, you with need at least a year experience in managerial role to assess as Engineering Manager with EA or Vetassess.

I hope 491 is considered skilled migration.

In another news, there is an update from nsw on nominations. They said it is highly competitive and that ppl should try other regions.
491 is skilled migration but comes with conditions depending on states and due to the pandemic, most states have tighten their conditions and give preferences to certain occupations.

I want to do a quick calculation. I am using the minimum wage in Australia which is $19.49 but to make it look more realistic, I would apply the 25% casual loading which would make it approx. $24 per hour.

This calculation is for a single person who works normal full time hours. Can people who have families give us a similar calculation for families so we know what it looks like? Thanks

Weekly wage = $24 * 38 hours = $912 (Before tax)

Per year = $912 * 52 = $47,424 (Before tax)

According to the ATO's tax calculator,

Tax on $912 per week is $152

Weekly net pay (take home pay) = 912 - 152 = 760

Yearly tax = 152 * 52 = 7,904 (16.7%)
Yearly take home pay = 760 * 52 = 39,520 (83.3%)

Note that this is minimum wage hence minimum tax. As you earn more, you pay more tax depending on your tax bracket.

Now using the weekly take home pay of 760

Rent for 1 person - share house or a very cheap 1 bedrom unit = 210 per week

Living expenses for 1 person - including petrol, groceries and maybe even eating out = 250 per week (this is probably an over-estimate for 1 person). If you are able to live on 200 per week, it means you can put away 50 per week for bills

Savings = 760 - 210 - 250 = 300 per week (if you want to pay your tithe or give to charity or support your family, you can probably deduct another 100 and be left with 200 savings per week)

Using 1 Aud = N250

Savings
Weekly = 300 = N75,000
Monthly = 1,200 = N300,000
Yearly = 15,600 = N3,900,000

I will list some periodic expenses that can deplete your savings.

Car registration - an average of $500 every 6 months or $1,000 every year.
Interstate Holidays - $3,000 depending on where you go, lol

If your regular bills have to come out of your savings

Home Internet - 70 per month = $840 per year - this won’t apply if you are in a share house
Mobile phone - 40 per month = $480 per year
Electricity (and gas for those who use gas) = $250 per quarter = $1,000 per year - won’t apply if you are in a share house

Remaining savings = $9,280 =N2,320,000

This is minimum wage, working regular full time hours.

Now as a single person, you can easily get a job that pays you more than $25 per hour, you can get penalties if you work weekends and you can have 2 jobs and work more than 50 hours in a week if you want to.

This would increase your wage and if you smart, it shouldn't really increase your living expenses. Car rego would be the same. Electricity, internet, fuel would be almost the same. You may spend more money going on holidays and going out for fancy dinners but that is it.

What do you guys think about my single person minimum wage calculation? What did I forget?
You forget to chip in tax return at the end of every financial year and superannuation (retirement benefits) unlike naija that your retirement benefits will be hanging in limbo for God knows when.

I need the gurus to advise me. I am a medical doctor in private practice in Nigeria. I decided to relocate this last December so I did the part 1 of the board exam AMC MCQ and passed. I got a job in Australia so I am processing my limited registeration and my employer is sponsoring my TSS visa. I will be eligible for PR only after 3yrs of working with the employer on TSS VISA but I am 41 years this last march. If with this COVID 19, I can't resume earlier than march then by the time I am eligible for PR, I will be 45yrs old which will be the cut off point. I have another route which is to pass the clinical exam as soon as possible and after working for one year then I will be eligible for general registeration. With that I will get 65points immediately and by the time I add my age it is 80 already. With IELTS it will be more than 90. However I don't know wether the job will give me adequate time to read as the job I got is leading me directly to becoming a consultant GP in just 3yrs plus( subject to passing exams through PEP program too) So the last option is where I need advice. I am thinking of applying for PR directly while on TSS visa as a medical and welfare manager for 190subtype. I need vetasses. I started paying myself one million naira monthly salary just two months ago directly from my hospital account ( I am actually doing well in Nigeria in terms of money but I need better life and future for the kids) . So, I want to claim 10yrs experience as a manager using my clinic. But I am the manager and in the form, I need to fill the name of my employer. Should I just arrange a friend to do that? This is not fraud but I just don't know how to do it. The hospital is real. I make profit of more than three million per month so it is not fraud but I heard vetasses will call the employer and I am my employer so that is the problem. I need to get 8 points in IELTS but I know I can do that. My wife needs to get 6 points in IELTs and I think she can do that too. I hope to kick-start the PR visa before travelling on TSS visa so I won't be attached to my employer for the next 5 years. Although the money is good. A rural area with an initial 150k Australia dollars and within 3yrs I should be grossing up to 400k dollars as a VR GP by his grace. I am excited but I also need to secure this PR. If this don't work, them I will have to pass the clinical exam by fire by force before I finish my year 1 under supervision so I can get general registration and apply before 45
Alternatively, check whether the regional area is under DAMA program and negotiate with your employer to try the program upon arriving because age is usually wave if you are applying under this program.
