Even if you're a student in NSW, the duration given by law is 3months, ppl are just risking it and that doesn't mean the law is not in place. |

Is there any remedy for that? Please, help your brother please! No remedy unless you rewrite IELTS and get the minimum requirement or follow what's stated on your offer letter (mostly likely enrolling in a english course but rewriting IELTS will be cheaper). English language requirement varies depending on schools and course, there are some courses no matter the school, english test is required unless you are from a native english speaking country. |

fculek: Hello house Please I tried to apply for my masters degree course in RMIT and they referred me to PFL . I went there and paid there service fee of 150k . After submitting the necessary documents, the lady in charge called me that the school won’t offer me an admission because of my 2 times Canada visa refusal and 2 times us visa refusal . In short no first tier school in Australia will offer me admission and I won’t stand an high chance of getting visa as well . Please I really need an advice and what I can do . This is not totally true as the school has little/no influence in aiding your visa grant, the school is just to offer you admission, in as much as you disclose your previous visa rejections and the reasons for the rejections, and provided that you didn't use any bogus documents give it a trial. Based on my personal encounter, six out of every ten naija students here have once tried other countries before opting for Australia. Anfieldboss: Did you get funding for your PhD? Hardly will you see someone doing PhD in Australia without partial or full funding as the fee is exorbitant. |

Pls hope the pregnancy wont be an issues or do anyone had a similar experience ind past. There is a stage of pregnancy where x ray is not advisable, if she's in that stage her visa application will be delay until she's able to go ahead with x ray because medicals is not complete without x ray. Ugoau: Thanks but what of regional area? Are there no cheaper land like 100m or 80m With that amount you can get an apartment but maybe very far from the city and in a remote area, and also if you can invest more than $600k+ in Australia doing business, you maybe eligible for PR by investment. |

What about zenophobia attacks in South Africa, recent hatred for Nigerians in Ghana and Kenya. We are same Africa counties with black skin and yet we Nigerians are been hated. I pray you find yourself in the western world if not there yet, you will understand my point better besides i wasn't talking about racism or any thing but your skin color will definitely come to play. |

Too common in every single travel thread. USA, Sweden, UK, everyone. I don't know you but that lady that you were grouped along with by that guy has argued in each of those threads. What do you guys gain from these things, I wonder. I will never advise someone against travelling abroad seeking a better way of life and i have never done that, you can check my previous comments but that doesn't change the fact that the color of your skin will come to play one day either actively or passively. Look at what's happening to Prince Harry, just because he got married to a bi racial woman and my initial post was " them no dey tell person, time will tell" which i literally meant that stop telling people, they will find out at the right time. |

Zaddii: mad ooh.!!! So does that mean it will be difficult to move money from my Nigeria dollar account to an Australia bank account ?? That shouldn't be an issue but banks will definitely ask for your overseas tax number if the amount flowing into your account is very much. Anti money laundering law is very tight and this reminds me of a Somali woman that was caught in mid 2018 who want to buy a property that worth $2m with cash, she couldn't genuinely explained how she came about the money and was later find out that she has being extorting the government by establishing a kangaroo child care center over a long period of time, she eventually lost everything to the government. |

Please can someone engage into a business in Australia as foreign student e g real estate like buy a lland , build and sell the building thanks In as much as you are financially bouyant and registered, real estate is not a child's play as a single 3bedroom may cost more than half a million dollar. One more thing is that all transactions will be done electronically which indicates that your tax number will be included to determine how you make such amount of money and even if you are transferring money to an Australian account, overseas tax number will be requested just to make sure that your money is legit. |

Nicoletheo: Hello NL Family,
Happy New year to all.
I have Canada PR while my partner is pursuing Australian PR. Please where would you advice us to move to? Personally, Im looking to Australia majorly because of the weather.
What are the living conditions like? Are there job opportunities? Im in IT while he is into Drilling operations.
Thanks in advance to your response. Since you already have a Canadian PR, why not activate it and after two or three years you can effortlessly move to Australia instead of wasting time and resources for Australian PR? Even if you are a citizen, school fees for children is not totally free unlike Canada, IT jobs are concentrated in the big cities and you compete with the best to get one, drilling jobs is on the lowest level as Australia is not an oil producing country and the closest occupation to that is in mining sector which is also on the decline. The good thing is that there's high tendency of making more money in Australia than Canada in as much as you are not lazy and you are flexible to switch occupation in events of what you aspire is not forth coming and also things are relatively expensive than in Canada, weather conditions actually varies across the States, can be extremely cold during winter as well as very hot during summer. |

You can actually use your overseas license to drive for up to six months and state like Victoria just introduce this law last October, before you can use overseas license to drive in Victoria for as long as you want. |

The Certificate of Induction which was said to be not Genuine or seen as a fake document was issued during my 100 level Departmental Induction which is being organised by the Department student Association. The Certificate of Induction and the Immigration Mail is shown below. Dear friends, I solicit for your kind Advice and directives as I am still yet to responds to the Immigration Mail. God bless us all Natural justice is not a sign of good thing to come unless you satisfactory proof yourself or risk rejection at times with 3 years ban, you actually shot yourself in the foot by adding that certificate to your application and you don't have the luxury of time for any NSE registration now. Go to your alma mater, explain to your HOD or any high ranking person in your department, get a letter headed letter with stamp detailing how you come about the certificate (departmental/academia stuff and not from professional awarding organization), notarize both the letter and the certificate and also be prayerful. Goodluck. |

Of course you'll have to pay for flight later and some extra for settling down in The figure you quoted depends on school as well as program, that amount will barely pay for just a semester for Msc in University like RMIT, Deakin etc and more than that in Uni Melbourne, UNN and University of Sydney; however, there are some schools with lesser pay such as Flinders, Federation, Victoria Uni but require many documents to satisfy GTE. |

Softkey: General is 3years while Academics is 2years. Also you can’t use IELTS Academics for PR, it have to be General. Live Scenario: My IELTS Academics expired in May, 2019 and I plan to change my school. The school I’m changing to required I write another one. I tried to explore the PR option but was required to write the IELTS General or PTE as IELTS Academics can’t be used. Note: You can use PTE Academics for both studies and PR but for IELTS, No. On the contrary, a lot of people have actually used IELTS academics for PR and i used my IELTS academics of over 2years for post study work visa, used it for assessment and almost used it for PR but the time frame elapsed. |

Could you she more light pls.. The only thing Finance will get you is two years post study work visa and not PR because is not on the skillselect list. You can go ahead if and only if your Bsc is on the skillselect list, closely related with finance and also sure of getting a positive assessment with it otherwise change your course after your first semester. Note: Financial Manager is totally different from Finance as degree certificate. |

Please help a brother. Google backpackers in Melbourne CBD and a lot will pop up, check the price and distance to your Uni, weigh your options and you can as well make an online reservation and pay upon arriving then you look for a long term accommodation. |

I read somewhere that after grant notification, updating DHA about a new passport takes them months to reply? Please, who has ever tried this? How long does it take? Doubt if you can renew your passport in Brisbane, the only place i am aware of in Australia is Nigeria High Commission in Canberra and the process is seamless, call or mail them and you will be told what to do and book a date for your biometric capture, you get your passport on the same day. Regarding contacting DHA to update your passport isn't necessary, and if there's need for that, DHA will mail and give you a duration to provide your new passport. |

Is the visa requirement for Australian same as Canada? if I do one year school how many years can I stay? Thank you house. No one year masters course for engineering related program, the minimum you can get which is rare is 18months and is basically pointless because you won't be eligible for post study work visa (485), going for 2years program is the best deal. |
