Did I just read an Igbo hater mention "Losing 2 million in one swoop"? I think it was more. But let me add that it was the middle belt soldiers (particularly Jukuns, Tivs) and Mid- West soldiers that gave teeth to the Nigerian Army in their fight against Biafra while the Hausa/Fulani and their Yoruba collaborators shared the administrative spoils of the Army and the Civil Service respectively. Its a pity but it seems this is a case of the chicken coming home to roost. The violence pepertuated against others will always come back to choke both pepertuators and co-conspirators. It is only natural. |
For those that said that St. Peter was never in Rome nor died there. The Apostle and first "Bishop of Rome", Peter, was imprisoned, tortured, and crucified in Rome in 64 CE under the Roman emperor, Nero. Some scholars set the date at October 13, 64 CE. The earliest documented mention of Peter's death is in a letter from Clement, bishop of Rome (AD 88-97), to the Corinthians. It is in "The Acts of Peter" (2nd century CE), that we find the story of Peter being crucified upside-down, supposedly at Peter's request, because was "unworthy to die in the same manner as my Lord." |
Sam xiu lee: Can we for once stop this tribal bashing? It doesn't make sense jubilating when this kind of a thing happens, funsho williams, bola ige, dipo dina, all this names are unsolved killings in the SW,am a Yoruba man and am disgust the way some of my fellow yorubas comment here on nairaland,we are not brought up like this,we should always led by example,if others abuse us and call us different kind of names,it doesn't mean we should do same, two wrongs does not make a right.rip to the dead.. Sorry mate na ur people dey first find trouble. Anything that happens in the East (even tragedy) they start to show ass. |
metti: Mr Blocker write in a matured way. I don't have hatred for it nither for your church, you can explain yourself without using such word even if I will not belive it.If you are looking for trinity, christmas, easter Reverend or even 25th December then you will be missing the mark because we Catholics are guided by the traditions as handed by the Apostles the bible (compiled 300 years after the death of Christ)only confirms what the Church teaches. If you say there is no Trinity because it wasn't found in the bible then you would equally wonder why Jesus did not hold a bible when preaching or from the bible (which you say is your only authority)proove that Jesus wrote a page or book while on earth or proove that Jesus said we can learn all his teachings in a single book (written by different men, written in more than 6 languages by men who lived hundreds of years apart such as Moses and Paul) bound by many chapters 300 years after the death of Christ(compiled by the Roman Catholic Church). For the records even historians studying the world's religions (including protestants)will tell you in over 2000 years the teachings of the Catholic Church has not changed.Trinity may not be written in the bible but Catholics are not alone in this belief (see the Apostles creed prayer also said by Anglicans, Methodists and Presbyterians). The belief in the holy written is based on faith not literal written proof because it is a mystery. |
ijawkid: Did I just see you post peter as the first pope??...permit me to ask which peter.....was it the peter that was with Jesus and the other apostles or some other anonymous peter??............did the apostles or the scriptures mention any fellow like LINUS the purported successor of peter??....abeg make ona help me o......... It is one and the same Peter there is no dispute to that fact both by Catholic and Protestant historians. The only dispute btw Catholics and Protestants is doctrinal not the history.Even ST. John the last apostle to die was the Bishop of Ephesus at the time of Pope Anacletus, and recognised his position as the successor of St.Peter.Even in the bible you do not find instructions on Christmas, 25th December, Easter and many other things christians hold dear. Jesus never implied that all he stood for can be learnt from the bible (compiled over 300 years after his death)if not why did he establish a Church to to teach it while promising that the gates of hell will not prevail against it? |
metti:Thank you for your concern we venerate Mary just like you call your vicar venerable, we honour her just as your refer to your politicians as honourables but we worship God the father, God the Son and God the holy Spirit. We have been doing that for over 2000 years so your hatred for it or your lack of understanding can never prevail against the Church till the ends of time because of Christ's commission to Peter "Upon this rock I will build my Church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it". |

This is no longer the Federal Republic of Nigeria but Personal Republic of Nigeria. |
My English teacher taught us in primary four that 'if' defines a conditional statement. Again when prophecies are made conditions are not attached because it obscures the certainty criterion that defines the prophecies conclusion. It's no more prophetic like saying "Bolaji will marry Bola if they both consent to marry".What I see here is a written conditional statement infered by one as the opinion of another. |
ecosanders: So in ur little Brain BH=hausa? Did u even kw dat BH is a Kanuri thing? Whick killings r u talking about, d one started by ur Ibo brodas(Nyogwu, Ifeajuna and co)? If u dnt kw, d seed of tribalism and Nepotism was planted frm d Execution of dat coup, of course u dnt xpect 2 murder ppl like Balewa, while sparing ur own kinsmen and expect d Northerners 2 fold their arms. Bro read ur history wel, there are ppl dat believe dey ar doing God a favour tru killings even in Xtianity, it has happen b4, and is stil happening. If your knowledge of the history of genocide in the 'North'started in 66 then you need to read books on colonial Nigeria if you can't use the internet and if you think Ndi Igbo are evil your fathers shouldn't have forced them back into this contraption called Nigeria (yes that is what it is)and if Islam in northern Nigeria(or at least a segment of it) believes it is righteous to kill the other Nigerians then it would have been better that they were killed as foreigners and not as nationals. Other Countries are advancing technology in all spheres of living and you and your kind are guided by medieval philosophies. |
coputa: The igbos always attract attention to themselves in whatever they do. They have that domineering spirit and no sane government will accept that..Go to countries like cote d'ivoire, senegal, mali.the Gambia.,Guinea,Togo e.t.c. the ibos have virtually taken over their economy..it is too glaring for their host to see it..dont blame them they r protecting their economy... So a country's economy is better protected by removing foreign investment and subsequently reducing GDP and cutting jobs Nna m? Na only God know the kind school wen u go. They are not protecting jackshit because the initial capital for the businesses was not got from Ghanian Banks. Let us call a spade a shovel if u like. |
Nations Cup hangover. Their own be say how dem go suffer spend money host cup then yeye Nigeria go come win am? |
My question goes to Prof Corruption. Prof Sir, how did you become a Prof without a 'worthless Ph.D'? Thank you. |
thisismike: I thought the Pope is infallible. Well let me educate you a litte. The infallibility doctrine of the Church teaches that the pope cannot make mistake in its teachings.Historians (Catholic and protestants alike) have studied doctrinal issues of the world's religions only to find out that the Catholic Church has not shifted grounds in its doctrines in over 2000 years unlike the others (many of whom are less than 500 years in existence) If this is not consistency then I don't know what is.Infallibity does not imply that man is free from mortal sin since all men have sinned and come short of God's glory. Even the pope goes for confession. |
ecosanders: exactly, and if its in d North dey wil start cursing Hausa and Islam, tak away BH, a typical Hausa wil nt act lik dis, imagine a whole community commiting such savagery. Awòn wére jatijati!. Are you saying that Hausas learnt how to kill because of Boko Haram? How do you explain the genocides that have taken place in the North since 1925? These acts are Barbaric and targeted at people with different ethnic and religious affiliations so if a "typical hausa man" (Boko Haram apart)cannot behave like that according to you then which religions and tribes perpetuated those acts on a mass scale over so many decades? By implication of your posts there is clear bias in your assement of violence and racial profiling. You will forgive me if I doubt your degree is a major in sociology. |
IGBO BOY I DIG YOUR PHRASE "OFE MMANURISTIC TENDENCIES"...HAHAHAHAHA I DON LEARN NEW ONE. ANYWAY NO ONLY ARMY DEM KNOW AS TO COMPLAIN BUT COMPLAIN ABOUT DOMINATION IN THE MARKET, BANKS, GDP CONTRIBUTION, THE MEDIA, SCHOOLS THE IDIOT SHEIK NO WAN COMPLAIN NA ARMY HIM SEE, NAVY NKO? NA NORTHNERS DOMINATE BEGGING EVEN ON OUR SOUTHERN STREETS STILL WE NO COMPLAIN. FROM THAT ALMS WEN PEOPLE DEY GIVE THEM TO THE OIL MONEY WEN DEM DEY WAK I CAN CALL THEM THE MOST DEPENDENT PEOPLE IN THIS FIX CALLED NAIJA... PARASITIC IF YOU LIKE. |
pazienza: Yea, i agree with you, thanks to yoruba/northern mastery of political leadership, nigeria is a poo. Yea,we need more of obasanjos and babangidas to move this poo of a country forward. All hail the great yorubas and northerners, blessed are they, for soon,'we' would leave nigeria for both of them to inherit,it would be a marriage made in heaven.YES THE YORUBA/HAUSA connection have taken LIEGERIA to new heights since the Oil boom so let's poo on. |
