. Do you know how many people die in nigeria daily? Its unfortunate we don't keep data and we do not have a structure in place for this. Do you know what happened in my area last week in lagos ? NO is the answer. That you dont know the number of people dying daily in nigeria is enough proof people could have brought it into nigeria btw the period. Omole estate is a popular place in Lagos else, nobody would have known a returned traveller there died of Corona virus. There was another returning traveler who hid his status and died at LUTH while he was being attended by medics...those who got exposed to him might have also contracted it.

Remember it's mainly returning travelers that the virus is dealing with...just a few locals among them so, before the awareness got to us, it's likely those who visited those affected countries had brought it home and later died here within the period. While a few locals might have also died due to close contact with the index cases.

the truth is, by the time our govt began to take precautions, things had gone so bad. Do you believe the virus had been in Nigeria since January and those who brought it in the country had been dying secretly? How many returning travelers between January and early march can Nigerian govt account for? How many can they trace in a country where fake addresses thrive...where leaders forge certificates to get to power, where her leaders deliberately kept mute for political reasons on the conduct of census to know the actual population figure? A lot is wrong with nigeria. Only God Himself can correct, not man.

Umahi you are trying. You are the best governor in the south east. But please, such orders is not thoughtful owing to the current economic situation in Nigeria. You are aware that your state houses some of the poorest people's in Nigeria. Are the face masks provided free of charge?
Remember face masks can even cause disease when worn for too long period.
