Do you even know if your own direct ancestors were slave dealers? Also, not all Whites were slave dealers and not all are racists today. That does not even matter. Both groups (slave buyer and slave seller) should apologize to AAs, the only victims in all of this
I dont care if they were slave traders. It's not my fault and owe I nobody an apology. Everyone who was personally effected or took part is dead anyway. Why stop at an apology. Give them reparations for their pain an anguish. Lol you have slavery in the 21st century to fight on this continent go free them now.

It's too late for that. Jonathan refused to appeal the case at ICJ. OBJ refused to go to war over the land. The issue is dead and from all court documents it did belong to them.

If you want land back it will be done by subversive means. You'll have to annex it like Russia did Crimea. Lol why stop their go for all of Anglo Cameroon.

The ICJ formally ceded Bakassi to Cameroon in 2002. Nigeria had the opportunity to appeal the ruling in August 2012. However, despite pressure from some prominent Nigerians, President Jonathan did not appeal the ruling.

“You all know what happened in Bakassi, there is no need to go back on why we couldn’t appeal. We had no new evidence within the period of time that was given that will make a difference in the judgment.

That will be a welcome development by the Lagos government.

Imagine someone living in Ogun state, working in Lagos Or someone living in ibadan, working in Lagos and vice versa.

Ogun and Oyo state governments should make use of their head and tap from Lagos closeness.
The The Lagos Rail Mass Transit is different from the federal lagos-kano project. They will share a rail tracks as the article states. It would be up the federal government to connect the states together.

The Red Line will share track with the standard gauge track of the Lagos – Ibadan Rail Modernisation project of the Federal Government.

…opens bid for four other rail projects, clears 47 secondary drainage channels By Olasunkanmi Akoni

Lagos State Government has said the first phase of the ongoing construction of 27-kilometer Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line project from Marina to Okokomaiko will be ready in 2022.

This came as government added that it has reinvigorated the environmental sector in the last one year, restoring the mandate of agencies and making the state cleaner.

The Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde and Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Tunji Bello, made these assertions on Wednesday, during the 2020 ministerial briefing as part of activities to commemorate the first year in office of Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the Governor of Lagos State.

According to Oladeinde, “the blue and red lines rail projects remain the flagship transport developments of Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration.

“The Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line project is a 27-kilometer rail project from Marina to Okokomaiko.

“The first phase of the project, that is Marina to Mile 2, is expected to commence passenger operation by the second quarter of 2022.

“The Red Line will share track with the standard gauge track of the Lagos – Ibadan Rail Modernisation project of the Federal Government. It is planned to commence passenger operations also in the second quarter of 2022.

“The state is currently evaluating bids submitted by investors for four other rail lines recently advertised for expression of interest on design-build-operate-maintain-and-transfer basis.

“The four lines are 68-kilometre Green Line from Marina to Lekki Free Zone, 60-kilometre Purple Line from Redemption Camp to Ojo, 34-kilometre Yellow Line from Otta to National Theatre and 48- kilometre Orange Line from Ikeja to Agbowa.”

I pray they find oil.

Apart from the fact that they are wasting Nigeria's meagre resources, I am quite certain that if oil is found in the North, the North will push strongly for secession.

And that would be our prayers answered
Why are you certain the push for secession. They'll lose seaport access and pay extra to export oil? There's very little advantage strategically for breaking up.

Interesting that would mean they would most likely export the crude out Akwa Ibom in the future. They would just need to build the deep first. There's been no updates about this discovery since last year so we'll wait see what happens.

The Federal Government has stated that the plan to explore prospects of hydrocarbon in the Northern region of the country will continue.
Imagine my lack of shock. They're committed to discovering a commercial oil well no matter the cost like Niger Republic. They just want to develop the region with more oil revenue and make it more energy independent i.m.o.

We can build a refinery there and create businesses from the production using the oil as feedstock. We may not export but create development activities around the production.”
This is big talk from the guys who cant get their current refineries working. Any major refining will probably be done by private sector. Niger Republics oil pipeline has been on hold over this price drop.
PoliticsFG Explores Options For Oil In North, Despite NOCs’ Budget Cut by Blue3k(op): 8:45am On May 28, 2020
By Kingsley Jeremiah, Abuja

Though National oil companies (NOCs) across the world are estimated to cut exploration budgets by $5 billion to around $14 billion this year, the Federal Government has stated that the plan to explore prospects of hydrocarbon in the Northern region of the country will continue.

The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, who had earlier disclosed that one billion barrels of crude oil were discovered in North-east stated that the Federal Government may consider scalable options that would ensure that the resources are harnessed and possibly processed in the region to reduce cost.

Considering that the prevailing market realities, as well as the outbreak of coronavirus, has disrupted international oil market, crashing price to record low, tracking well plans of 11 top spending NOC explorers, including three Chinese NOCs, PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP), Malaysia’s PETRONAS, India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Qatar Petroleum, Rosneft, Gazprom, Petrobras and Pemex, would collectively slash the budget by about 26 per cent.

“When asked if the current reality in the international market was encouraging to continue exploration at the inland basins, especially with the difficulty and likely expensive geological location, Sylva said: “The discovery at the inland basin has been announced but will it be viable when oil prices are low? We are looking at various options.

“One of it is to create a hub around the production so that instead of pipping the crude oil from the North, we can create a development corridor around that product. We can build a refinery there and create businesses from the production using the oil as feedstock. We may not export but create development activities around the production.”

According to him, if the oil is discovered around the country and such corridors are created, the move will bring development and growth.

Sylva had earlier told journalists that more crude oil would still be discovered and explored in other parts of the country.

However, Wood Mackenzie Senior Analyst, who analysed spending of oil state-oil-firms, Huong Tra Ho said: “While the range of exploration budget cuts for the NOCs is slightly more diversified than that of the Majors, conventional exploration remains important for them.

“Most NOCs consistently spent between 12 per cent and 35 per cent of their upstream budgets on exploration, an average of about 17 per cent over the 2015-2019 period. This is significantly higher than the majors’ average spend of 8 per cent of upstream budgets on exploration.”

Just like Nigeria, WoodMac stated that NOCs with substantial international presence would prioritise domestic activity, with deeper cuts to the overseas budget.

Ho said: “Most NOCs on the list carry strong government mandates. Many NOCs prioritise current revenue and contribution to government budgets at the expense of capital investments for the future. A dollar invested at home remains at home in the form of local employment, local services, taxes and government take.”

According to the think-tank, NOCs with constrained domestic resources could place more strategic importance on exploration compared to those with resource abundance, stressing that organically added resources would contribute between 50 per cent and 70 per cent of their production in the next decade.

“Another key factor to supporting exploration plans is financial strength. With strong balance sheets, Petronas, PTTEP and CNOOC Ltd are more able to continue with most of their high-impact exploration ambitions.

“Some NOCs can achieve meaningful absolute savings from exploration cuts, especially if it originally makes up a big portion of the company’s upstream budget. An example is Sinopec, whose exploration spend consistently accounts for a quarter or more of upstream budget; in which case cutting back exploration significantly contributes to necessary savings.

“Exploration budget cuts while necessary today, will impact companies’ future growth and sustainability. Given how important exploration is for the NOCs and their growing share of global new discoveries, these budget cuts are likely short-term measures rather than long-term. We expect NOCs to revitalise their exploration programmes as the sector recovers,” Ho said.

Let a virginity test be conducted on her since she claimed not to have done such a thing before. If she passes the test, she has a very strong case that might even see her acquitted. If she fails it, then her case has a low chance.
Her virginity is irrelevant to the case. What matters is if court believes she was being assaulted by her husband and couldn't escape.

What in their contacts or in lsbor labour laws exempts them IPPIS. There's nothing illegal about the ordering them to register. If they refuse it's insubordination. The fact is the hype surrounding them as irreplaceable is fslse they dont have employment and they cant easily be absored into lsbor labor market. The latest unemployment statistics already prove this to be true.

You are free to ask any random pharmacist you know around about this thing. Disbelief is easily remedied by getting the right information. And yes I have done different postings relating to the pharmacy profession already... But there's not point going into this again here.

You need to correct your idea of what constitutes insubordination. The Executive arm of the Federal Government is not the Boss. I know that the long period that we have spent under colonial masters and later military administrators has made it difficult for some of us to stop viewing those elected into offices as the owner of our lives...

And no, I have not bragged...not even once. But for someone without the working knowledge of what I stated, I understand that it would come across as bragging... It is very easy for you to verify, if you are in the mood. Call up a professor, or simply find out the duties and responsibilities of different academic cadres in the Universities, Polytechnics and so on. Reconcile this with the stipulations of the NUC for each position and those of the professional councils for professional courses like Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Science, Dentistry, Law, Engineering, and son on. You can easily get the BMAS for all undergraduate courses from the NUC website for instance. After going through these requirements for lecturing these various courses, then you can independently come to the conclusion on whether or not lecturers can simply be replaced with a single wave of Buhari-hand...

That's even just for undergraduate courses. We will take it to postgraduate levels it becomes a lot more interesting.
EducationRe: NASU Directs University Workers, Others To Begin Strike Over IPPIS by Blue3k(m): 3:13pm On May 20, 2020
Yawn if they're such high demand then they're free to work in the private sector nobody is being held hostage. There's no reason to keep insubordinate staff who arent working anyway on payroll. The data your requesting isn't available by the way. You brag you're irreplaceable but you refuse to leave better job opportunitiesin the private sector teaching.

You're also assuming talent from private sector or outside wont come replace insubordinate staff. I personally dont believe your argument about the full employment for pharmacists without evidence suggesting such. The leverage is clearly with the federal government.

bizme:
You have omitted the details of those degrees. When you speak of the university system it is highly complex system and a job applicant having a masters degree doesn't automatically fit in anywhere. Take my field for example, it is impossible for you to have a bachelor degree in Pharmacy and not already be employed. With almost no more than 14,000 pharmacists who are Nigerians, a good number of us have left the country. And without a bachelor of pharmacy degree you cannot run a pharmacy programme in any of the universities. The very fact that University jobs pay pharmacists ridiculous salaries is exactly why my colleagues would not in a million years accept to lecture in a university. For instance, even after you have added an MSc and a PhD degree to your qualifications as Faculty of Pharmacy lecturer, most of the graduates produced by you with no more than a bachelors degree will take first salaries that are infinitely higher than yours, with all your additional degrees. If you see a Pharmacist who is lecturing it is purely the love for the job and a good sense of sacrifice that compels him to turn back on the juicer packages outside and pick up lecturing job.
You have to understand the system well to know that lecturers, e.g., those working at the Faculty of Pharmacy are simply irreplaceable. And this applies for all the fields. You can not bring an MBA masters degree to teach pharmacy, medical, law, engineering students and so on. You cannot use a PhD in Education to train students of geology, chemistry and so on ...

Don't always believe the propaganda by the government. The same government that said through Chris Ngige that medical personnel could leave the country for all he cared, that there were many doctors looking for employment, is now the same government that has been quickly increasing the allowances of health personnel to prevent any kind of unrest at this time. That you have MBBS wielding doctors outside doesn't mean you can replace highly trained surgeons and consultants with the job-seekers. It is the same way with you saying lecturers are replaceable.

I for one like to see what it looks like replacing highly trained and experienced lecturers up to professorial cadres with job seekers with or without postgraduate degrees. Won't that be a very memorable sight?

Once this COVID19 holiday is over, Nigerians should get ready for the total shutdown of our universities. For the first time in a long while, Buhari has succeeded in uniting all three University unions. ASUU, NASU, and SSANU.

In the end, the politicians with the private higher institutions are the ones who will benefit from all this, and Nigerians the ones to lose. All the university workers' entitlements will eventually be paid no matter what. But at the end, founders of private universities will keep smiling to the bank. This is how politicians play us and some naive Nigerians actually think this is a fight against corruption.
