Trump 2020 is almost certain. He's got three major trade deals done. The one with Japan, USMCA and now this. There's no reason to celebrate this one yet since the devil is always in the details. |

Akwa Ibom had similar outrageous pensions for ex governors. They can get jobs after leaving office but they'd rather leach off tax payers for everything. Oh well nothing will chsnge until the state assembly is pressured to change laws. |

Politics › Re: Gov. Udom Inspects New Terminal Building At Uyo Airport. by Blue3k(m): 5:33am On Dec 12, 2019 |
Atouke: Should start first with regional flights Cameroon, Gabon, saoTome, equatorial Guinea and west African states will be great.
Uyo is closer to this countries than it is to say kano or maidugri, and there are more ibibio/ Efik indigenes in south Cameroon, Gabon, Malabo and Sao tome than in Borono state or far Northern states in Nigeria.
So these areas would be a natural niche for ibom air, should they have continental expansion dream. Write them on it. The only spots in West Africa im interested in traveling to are Cape Verde, Ivory Coast and Ghana. That's if the price is right. The prices for intra africa flights are high. |

Buhari will probably veto this bill. He already believes these projects are wasteful and corrupt. Sadlu he hasn't come up with any solutions on how check the menace like better oversight. Nass has proven they dont have political will to overturn any of his vetoes anyway. |
Politics › Re: Unemployed Nigerians Should Be Paid Stipend Until They Get Jobs - Senate by Blue3k(m): 5:16pm On Dec 11, 2019 |
cocolacec: It is a welcome idea and long overdue .All developed countries give unemployment benefits to their citizens to cushion the effect of hardship.
The unemployment benefit can never replace real work in the sense that Unemployment benefits is like 1/3 of the real salaries you can earn when you have a real job. A permanent welfare state requires huge taxes increases. Dont protest when they come to collect. The politicians said the want to cover q living wage. What they should focus on is fixing the structural issues with Nigerian economy. Look into tax reform, regulations and increading infrastructure spending. |

Politics › Re: An Average Nigerian Youth Is A Coward by Blue3k(m): 4:28pm On Dec 11, 2019 |
There's no reason to complain endlessly without taking action. The simple thing to do is call your representatives and tell them to threaten impeachment. If they don't agree recall them. Nigerians aren't interested in actionable solutions so it doesn't matter. The other topics are at least interesting on some level. |
Politics › Re: Unemployed Nigerians Should Be Paid Stipend Until They Get Jobs - Senate by Blue3k(m): 4:16pm On Dec 11, 2019 |
These socialist leaders need to stop. This ridiculously dumb idea because it's too expensive, the unemployment rate is sky high, and it could incentivize not working. If your stipen is more than a janitorial job why go to work for example. |
Politics › Re: New emirates: Court Tells Ganduje He Can’t Usurp Powers Of Kingmakers by Blue3k(m): 3:41pm On Dec 11, 2019 |
anochuko01: oga, in a northern society where literacy is close to zero, a traditional ruler of sanusi is a blessing. they have somebody who genuinely has their interest at heart, but is being frustrated by a stealing governor. he could have easily sided with the government and siphon their funds but he has lost almost all his power by standing against a sitting governor. Lol you're not going do anything about your society. You just want to worry about their finances? What has Sanusi done to improve literacy rate? It's the state government passing laws like free compulsory education. The south hasn't ended wasteful monarchy and doesn't seem interested in leading charge to do so. I guess modernity will be a long time coming. |

anochuko01: You can't compare monarchy in the North with what's obtainable here man. The so called sanusi is even referred to as the Islamic leader in Nigeria or whatever... They have greater influence on their people than southern monarchs because it's a mixture of religion and culture. That's a no then. The South still pours money into a relatively unimportant institution since it hasn't achieved modernity. As I told the other guy lead the charge in your state if you agree these institutions dont have or add value to your society. |

This regime’s actions and assaults on the courts, disobedience of court orders and arbitrary detention of citizens reflect its true character of the martial culture. Buhari has no reason to stop. He doesn't fear impeachment and APC isn't worried about an electoral defeat. If there's no consequences to these actions he should continue since strong man politics works. |

sapele914: Busy Body, Interloper, are you from Kano State, why cry more than the bereaved? Demon.
The People of Kano State have spoken and have broken the unanimous powers of the Emir of ancient tradition, and you are here purporting to complain because you hate Gaduje, because he supports President Buhari, please don't think we don't know your biased source of hatred? Lol I gave too much credit claiming your a 2d thinker. Where did I say their actions are wrong? I just pointed out the motives you started crying saying it for the people? Stop the emotional tempter tantrums not everyone emotionally invested like yourself. Its clear the underlying tension between those two. That's why he called in political favor to rush bills to split emirate. In your naive mind everything these politicians do for pure and benevolent purposes with the people in mind. If I dont agree its because of hatred how childish. |

You seem to 2d thinker since you don't know political favors exist. Lol you dont see why these bills get rushed through in less than a week. The splitting of Emirate was never a big concern for the people. Who was complaining before? |

I hope you are aware that the Emir of Kano is on the payroll of Kano State Government? Your point being what? Are you saying Ganduje cant be mad at someone on his payroll. His motives are pretty transparent to modt people observing. |
