BreconHills: Right. That's better.
Nigerias inflation is largely imported - cost push. Food Importation alone amounts to about 14.61% or about $10 billion per annum. That's not a huge figure until you remember that the highest number Nigeria's reserves have recorded in recent times is about $36bn. If a country spends one third of its reserves on food imports - then you are going to get higher prices due to pressure on the local currency.
But that's not all folks...
The entire world ( and I am sorry I spoke about travelling out recently - who does that?) Is experiencing high inflation. The US, UK, Europe - everyone. This is a function.of higher energy prices and the break down in global supply chains brought about by China's zero covid policy. Its ugly out there right now.
Regarding the states - most people don't know it because most states unfortunately rely only on statutory allocation but a state does have the power to create an enabling environment for its people especially an oil producing state like bayelsa. Unfortunately most of this particular state's governors have been criminals who have frittered away the largesse they gained in the GEJ years when oil receipts were extraordinarily high. These states also accommodated the kidnapping and violence that chased away the oil companies that were at least greasing the economy to a small part. These same kidnap and bone breaking gangs have now cornered the illegal bunkering business which is why they aren't complaining as much as the poor oppressed citizen. Where is MEND today? Where are the Delta Avengers? Buying new houses in Dubai most likely.
So basically our consumption patterns and the global economy and of course governors that treat opportunity as a celebration are to blame.
Is the FGN doing the best job on the economy? No. But that's because everyone is so scared to remove the oil subsidy and partially float the Naira. If they did this, they would have more money to play with - they've kicked the can down the road to the next government.
Take it from me, if the next President does what he should do, they will be voted out disgracefully after one term.
Sorry again did not mean to sound condescending or insulting. Have a great day.
* Pardon all typos* You are just giving fishy excuse, Nigerian economy was on the decline since this administration took over even before the covid and war in Ukraine. A useless administration that took 6months just to appoint a cabinet composed of thieves and fools. |

May Nigeria not happen to us.
When you hear of people who are well established in business, private practice, staff of grade A federal parastatals and blue chip companies resigning, closing their businesses and selling off their assets just to "japa", you are marveled because.....
Some of you think people migrate only for economic reasons, but the harsh reality is people are leaving just to maintain their sanity.
- If you or any member of your family have never been kidnapped or killed by bandits, terrorists, armed robbers or kidnappers...
- if you or any member of your family have never been a victim of police brutality, extortion or harassment.....
- if you or any of your family members have never experienced the Rico Swavey treatment at any health facility when your health was seriously threatened....
- if you or any member of your family have never been affected by incessant industrial actions in public tertiary institutions......
- if you or any member of your family have never been extorted, manipulated or compelled to offer bribe before getting government services like international passport, driver's license, voter's registration, national ID, etc......
- if you or any member of your family have never lost huge sums of money to scam, debit/credit card fraud, illegal deductions from your savings by your financial institutions, fake investment, etc and your petition to CBN, EFCC, ICPC and your bank fell on deaf ears....
- if you or any member of your family have not suffered depression, hunger, poverty, low self-esteem, humiliation, loss of livelihood and mental illness due to unemployment, harsh business environment, poor government policies, nepotism, job racketeering, self-aggrandisement by the ruling and political class, massive corruption at all levels of public service etc.....
......then you may never understand the prayer "may Nigeria never happen to you". Nigeria is bad because of Nigerians if they like run to the moon or Heaven ,once those places become majority black or Nigerian populated, Nigeria or Africa would happen to those places. |

Deltavariant: Many a people here are dumb and very ignorant. Ask yourself these questions before blaming govt: 1 . There no way these crude can be stolen and sold without complacency from IOCs, NNPC, security agents and the local communities? 2. Not all the stolen crude oil can be refined at illegal refineries scattered in the creeks, then how does it find its way into international waters and market & ports with payments not being detected by the so called international community banking systems? Ladies & gentlemen , this is a strong cartel that even the C in C cannot there attempt to stop because the boys doing these have simple capabilities to ground the Nigerian economy if being attempted to be stopped. The government is the number 1 ppl to blame. The IOC have little to gain from this, developing an oil field costs hundreds of millions of dollars , this stolen crude are normally sold far below world prices. Before you quote me,am talking from professional point of view. |

Hate him or love him, His Excellency Muhammadu Buhari gave the country a solid foundation for future growth.
I am an engineer and during a building project the foundation could take months , even years to complete and during the process it feels daunting and like a total waste of time and resources. It cost more effort and energy but to get to the lintel stage can be accomplished in just days once the foundation is completed.
This analogy applies to this current administration, in the sense that before a country can prosper, you must get the fundamentals right. Buhari tried in these areas
1. Equipping the military 2. Rail Infrastructure 3. AKK pipeline project 4. Revamping NNPC 5. Political will to deliver infrastructural projects Among others
The areas I will criticize him are the following:
1. In a bid to satisfy his friends that helped him win the election as president, he handed appointment to individuals that are not qualified for the said roles. We need round pegs in round holes!
2. Due to his ill and fragile health, he lacked that hands on approach to monitor projects that he rightfully signed off on. He is a righteous man but his inadequacy to follow through made corruption to thrive
3. He lacked that empathy to mellow down to unite the country better. Blame this on his stern military background.
Let me stop here but whoever wins the next presidential elections will have it 1000% easy as the painful foundation stage has been built.
I see a prosperous Nigeria in the coming months. Let God punishment you clown,You have no brain. |

Kobojunkie: I have more than answered every single question you have asked. So, I am left to believe that you are confused as to how to apply what is clearly stated in scripture with that which you have already been indoctrinated into believing and hence the defensive approach that you have been exhibiting for the past page or 2.
Let me know when you are done resolving this confused state of yours. Maybe then you can begin to respond clearly to questions I have asked you regarding your belief where Jesus Christ and God are concerned. You are the one who is confused. The Bible is clear the wages of sin is death. But the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus. Stop twisting God's word to suit your false teachings. Man does not have Immortality inherently, only God and Jesus his son has immortality. No sinner goes to hell with immortality, stop using the word of God to lie. Only born again Christians who overcome to the end would receive the gift of immortality. Instead of you to give me a straight answer to my questions you diverted or dodged to answer them like a politician. Ppl like you are the cause of all the confusion and false teachings in christainity. |

Kobojunkie: I already answered this several times now.
The first Death, as defined by God in Genesis 3 vs 19 - 22 applies to all those who do not possess Eternal life. They all perish in the grave.
The second Death, again as defined by God in Matthew 25 vs 31 - 46 - applies to those who are of fhe Kingdom of God all of who possess Eternal life, and all those affected spend forever in eternal damnation. Do you hear yourself? When did God give some eternal life and others none? |
Christianity Etc › Re: Who Told You That You Were Naked? by blueAgent(m): 10:33pm On Oct 13, 2022 |
Kobojunkie: So, what you are invariably saying is that in Matthew 25 vs 31 - 46, Jesus Christ lied? To you, Jesus Christ is a Liar!
Not a single one of those above is born of my thought since I didn't write any of those passages in scripture, and you have clearly not been able to point out which of the passages was born of my thought. So? Answer my question. Secondly what is death and the second death? |
