Just to be sure, did you also build the sample projects included in wxWidgets distribution? if you did are they running well without issue?

Boss, noon, as regard the need to have website, time to go through the Python training not feasible. Done with c++ though

Just want to ask can blog do the job for me, if yes, what do I need to know before having a blog??

Sure, blog can do the job for you, or should I say "a blogging platform" can do the job for you. But what might be a little bit of challenge is monitization. If you are to make revenue from it besides Ads then you might have to tweak some of the underlining code

I'm just happy my idea can b made realistic.
Good to know something like that exist. Did Research on CDN and I think I av an average understanding abt it now.

Meanwhile, stumbled on this page for different CDS

If I get this well, meaning I ll need to create a website along with my app,

Actually planning to learn Python for web development after C++ and Graphic/ animation(blender).. Hmm. I think I still av a long way to go( still an undergraduate , time factor)).

Cool good to hear

Just remember to take it on step at a time, the knowledge acquired builds up and can be leveraged in solving problem in other tech domains.

And as usual reach me incase of any difficulty

Boss abeg help my thinking,

I'm almost dine with learning C++, will want to go into graphic/animation soon.

My aim is to create an App and the app will b filled with animated videos which subscribers can click animation video of their choice without referring them to YouTube, like do u see possibility of creating such app

Like everything is withing the app without referring to YouTube.

Beside can I DM you??

( By animation I believe you mean animated videos )

If the app shows the animations as videos then it would really be best to have those videos hosted on a content delivery server and then streamed to your app on request.

And yes, you can DM me

i dont know if im getting it right or wrong. visual c++ needs using c++/CLI which is somewhat different normal c++ but Mingw uses c++/Qt to cross platform app

Visual c++ being Microsoft c++ package mostly comes complete with all you need as well as Mingw (Minimalistic Gnu for Windows) which is windows port for GCC ( Gnu Compiler Collections).
Qt on the other hand is a c++ development framework , providing basic utilities for programming in c++ and most especially providing a c++ GUI library. On windows Qt comes as either a VC++ build or a mingw ( Mingw-w64) build depending on your compiler of choice.

Javanian and @ bluemagnificent pleas are there Mobile/deckstop app C++ can't develop??

I'm feeling bad right now cox I'm half+ done with learning C++ cry

Or what advantage does java has more than C++

I'm a bit confused but with the question but what I can say is that C++ can be used in developing mobile application and desktop application, and even web based applications.
However some of these domains have an already established development framework whose language may or may not be c++, and it's advisable to go with the recommended language

Will check it out.

Think NL should have a way of anchoring certain threads so that they dont get buried forever under d flood of new posts.
#fulaman's java tutorial
#appcypher's Astro programming language
etc.

You are right though...
At a time I was running it alone and it was really tasking as a side project ( it was not easy making out time for it from my day job)

I would really like to dust it off and start it up again, but going at it alone would really slow down the progress

And really time really flies

programming is fun but I find it hard to comprehend. I seriously want to understand it. have downloaded java tutorial video still I can't understand. what are easily steps of learning it?

First, just don't think too hard about it. Get a good book or video on the Language of your choice (I prefer books though). Next, take it one step at a time, begin from the beginning and progress gradually. Don't let your mind deceive you that in a month time you will be able to build the next powerful AI or a blockkchain engine that no one can exploit. No! Don't fall for that trap, keep your fantasies by the side undecided. Start it gradually, one step at a time. Definitely you will lose interest along the line and be most certainly discouraged but be sure to always come back early and continue where you left.

Don't forget that switch statements have fall-through if there is no break in the case of c/c++ . That comes in handy when u want to handle a condition and still want another block of code which is for another condition to run. Can't happen with if undecided

+1 for EC6 promise, async only reduces the callbacks by a factor of 3/7

by async are u referring to the async package or the async/await functionality. For async/await implemented in the latest version of node you don't even need call back as long as the function called returns a promise, or better still you can wrap it up in a promise by hand or using util.promisify(). Node.js is just a crazy world though, but just don't get sucked in grin grin grin it might be hard to get out.

I hate node.js its easy to write a messy app a d the callback chaining is depressing I only use it to run tasks on our CI or help with the build process.

This was my position last year until I decided to take on a serious project with nodejs and everything changed grin you can overcome the callback chaining with things like generators, promises and async/await (in the latest releases). But funny enough I got to love and enjoy the whole callback chaining grin grin grin

Now I'm so hooked and addicted to nodejs/javascript with its plethora of packages and lots of ideas stuck in my head undecided

The messenger app features of whatsapp arent exactly so much of a big deal to develop, u need to understand whatsapp runs on a complex server infrastructure to support billions of messages daily, so investment literally would be the challenge, you'll need several dedicated balanced/fail-over servers [i'm talking high-end, many-core/many-ram servers) to setup and a well written backend system (Whatsapp backend is mostly erlang btw), Running such an infrastructure requires solid investment, not impossible at all tho.

The whatsapp FB bought for about $19B, had a server count of several 100's, and collectively over a thousand processors +tera Bytes of Ram, and thats just a part of the big pictre

I politely disagree with you point.

If whatsapp guys where waiting until they could acquire a good number of servers and infrastructures then you and I know that there would be nothing like whatsapp today. Same goes for facebook and even google.

First bring the idea to life then worry about servers and other infrastructures later. smiley
