TheRealYemi: So sad, remember him when he was interim Administrator of A.B.U Zaria, an outgoing fellow and humble, many evenings he will come to the Basketball court in front of Amina Hall to watch the match with the students. He re-organized the school and got the road in front of the school turn to a dual carriage way, he wasn't perfect but at least he tried, may his soul rest in peace

You are right. I remember those days with nostalgia. Students called him "Uncle K" due to his charismatic nature. He was also a very hardworking, no-nonsense fellow. During his time as Interim Administrator, he flushed a lot of students who were admitted on false premises, out of the institution. May his soul rest in peace, ameen.

black_beau: my dearest, you cannot blame people for insulting or abusing moslems and the islamic religion because boko haram is killing people and is sighting their religion(islam) as their basis for killing innocent people. what the hell do you want people to do? lets suppose a group of people start bombing everywhere and claim that Jesus asked them to do so for their faith, ont you abuse christians? go and talk to the boko haram members to stop annd nobody will insult muslims but if they continue, you cant shift the blame from where it should be

So, using your "logic", i should insult Christianity and Christians for the atrocities of that Norwegian bomber who dispatched almost a hundred persons persons to their graves to protect Christianity a few years back? Or i should condemn Christianity and insult Jesus for the ignoble actions of some misguided Christians in Jos who slaughtered and ate Muslims on Sallah day some not too long ago? Why do you have to tar every Muslim black on the basis of actions of a misguided few? Tomorrow, you will call others illiterates!

What's with all these disparaging remarks against Islam and its adherents? I have noticed an upswing in the bashings since that contentious Rule 17 was removed. Mr. Seun or whatever you call yourself, you should realize that there are lots of law-abiding Muslims here on NL whose sensibilities are being assaulted by these evil posts. Please do not take our patience, discretion or silence for granted. Since you allowed yourself to be blackmailed into removing Rule 17 instead of modifying it to suit everyone, what are you doing to curb these imbecilic posts?

If you must generate traffic for your site, must it be at the expense of Islam? If you must accommodate the views of those who can't sleep without insulting us for whatever reason, why not create a sub-forum for them and hide it, far removed from decent minds? We Muslims love and respect our faith as we respect other faiths. If non-Muslims do not regard their faiths highly enough to frown against insults directed against symbols of their religions, that is their business. Ours is not a religion to be ridiculed. Kindly put a stop to this insanity now. Thank you.

Some corrupt, intellectually impoverished persons have sworn to give Buhari a bad name in order to hang him, taking his words out of context and giving them an entirely different interpretation to suit their selfish, myopic agenda. Why not turn the searchlight on those PDP goons who actually threatened to make the country ungovernable? Or are Atiku and Lawal Kaita dead? Or are they not being questioned because they are PDP bigwigs? Let us conitinue running around in circles and keep fooling ourselves.

Islam for Muslims / Re: At What Point Would You Consider Marrying A Second Wife? by BlueMurder(m): 7:19am On Apr 14, 2013
F00028:

then you'll be getting married for the wrong reason.

How's that sir? Marriage is a life-long commitment whose glow needs to be sustained on daily basis to keep it from dying out. It shouldn't be allowed to "cool down" to the extent that one spouse considers the other as not being different from an item of furniture that would always be in the place where it is kept, come rain, come shine. one day, the untended furniture would become dusty!

usermane: I prefer to keep just one. That is just me. I just love the level of intimacy with monogamy, got to say the family bond is stronger in a monogamous marriage.

Right. Ultimately, you'll stick to what works for you. But not all monogamous unions exhibit close family bonds, and not all polygamous ones are epitomes of chaos.
Islam for Muslims / At What Point Would You Consider Marrying A Second Wife? by BlueMurder(m): 5:40pm On Apr 12, 2013
Yes, at what point? Islam allows us to marry up to four wives if we have the means and we are capable of being just. But what would push a person to take that gigantic step of marrying a second wife? I have friends who, when they were still bachelors, insisted that they had absolutely no intention of marrying just one wife. Others felt it was a decision that was beyond their control.

So brothers, what would make you go for a "2nd degree"? Is it something you feel would happen spontaneously or something you intend to do irrespective of the circumstances? Or something you have no intention whatsoever of attempting?

Let me go first: the day my wife starts taking me for granted is the day i would start considering marrying a second one. However, there are quite a number of things that would have to be done before the transition from consideration to reality is completed-things like "stock taking", possible reconciliation, etc. However, if all these fail to achieve the intended objective, then i would simply take it as a green light from Allah to press the search button.

So brothers, what are your views? Non-Muslims who do not consider polygamy a taboo are very much welcome to post their opinions so long as they can maintain civility. Thanks.

Aren't you just ashamed of yourself? Prancing about mindlessly on this thread, blurting out meaningless monosyllables instead of substantiating the claims you made earlier, as directed. Look, we know you cannot prove that Buhari made the statement Okupe shamelessly alleged that he made. So why not apologize to everyone for jumping on the bandwagon or just SHUT IT?
Politics / Re: Put A Muslim Soldier In Charge Of Operations Against Boko Haram-sheikh Gumi by BlueMurder(m): 10:49am On Mar 27, 2013
malele:

As for the amnesty to Boko Haram it is hypocritical. Boko Haram as an ideology respects no law. Not even the Quran or Hadith or Scholarly fatwa. They have their own interpretation, anything short of that is part of the enemy that should be killed. So on what basis should there be dialogue or amnesty. It is a creed that must be crushed; it is a creed the prophet – alaihis Salam- wished he is alive to exterminate.

Let a selected Muslim High ranking officer cadre of the armed forces take charge of this whole ‘operation’ from investigations to incursions. It needs a careful excision and only the person that feels the pains of society has the capacity to carry it out. Like removing a tumor from the brain, you don't give that to an orthopedic surgeon no matter how good to do that. It is an operation of precision not brute force. This choice of tackling a peculiar problem is the sign of good governance. Special missions have special requirements if success is the objective.

http://www.naijapundit.com/news/put-a-muslim-soldier-in-charge-of-operations-against-boko-haram-sheikh-gumi

Lots of Nigerians condemned the Sultan for calling for amnesty for the evil sect. Now Sheikh Gunmi has condemned the amnesty request as hypocritical because the sect is an enemy of Islam that needs to be crushed, not soothed. Unfortunately, lots of commentators here have chosen to ignore that part of his statement due to their unbridled hatred for the man! Stereotyping the entire Muslim community will take us farther away from the solution, not closer to it.

You Must be joking. Which Allah are u talking about? God protect your children from Allah, the sender of Islamic sect called Boko Haram to cause havoc and prosecute Christians.

Firstly, you don't know for sure, that he is a Muslim. He may be a non-Muslim who wrote that in anticipation that people like you would respond as appropriate while he smiles away after every vitriol-laced post. Secondly, i am a Muslim and my religion teaches me to be good to my neighbours, Muslims and non-Muslims alike, because they have rights upon me.

In Zaria, Kaduna state where i reside, we have long taken it upon ourselves to immediately inform the security agencies of any suspicious persons or events, so that gory incidents like the Kano one are identified and nipped in the bud. It is a hectic task, but we are hopeful that we will succeed, insha Allah. However, we are not encouraged by the fact that nothing seems to be heard about the arrests previously made and the status of the investigations.

bright007: Look at what Islam has caused!just brainwashing people to commit evil acts yet it is acclaimed to be a religion of "peace",....its a religion of piss and shits indeed.

What's with this generalization? I hate to insult people, but for God's sake are you incredibly stu.pid or something?! Anytime a tragedy like this occurs, you hear brainless people come here and rave about how "northerners are evil", "Muslims are wicked", "Islam is ***", "abokis are this or that"! If all these were true, would any non-Muslim still be in the north? Why don't you give yourself a brain for once? All those arrests you read about in the papers in Maiduguri, Damaturu, Kano, Kaduna, etc, being made by the JTF, would they have been possible without Muslims/Northerners providing information about deviants/criminals?

Some of you just stay in your sitting rooms somewhere and type rubbish on cyber space. If i come here and claim that SS/SE elites may be engineering these crises to precipitate a civil war that would lead to the collapse of Nigeria as they so desire, what would you take me for? Do you know how many concerned Muslims/Northerners risk their lives daily to expose deviants/criminals in their midst in order to safeguard the integrity of their faith/region? And do you know how many more as we speak now are doing a lot more to protect non-Muslims in their communities? If all these were not taking place, do you know that tragedies like this will be occurring on a daily basis in most parts of the north? Please learn to respect yourself and zip it if you have nothing intelligent to say angry

Abagworo: I'm usually saddened with the level of reasoning displayed on this forum or elsewhere in Nigeria. Why must we label everything tribal or regional? Nigeria has a population of over 100million while the number of. OPL allotees are not even more than a thousand. How has the ownership of oil wells helped the real Northerners on the streets? What have I personally gained from Tony Ezenna, Arthur Eze, Emeka Offor, Tony Elumelu, Jim Ovia, ABC Orjiakor, Oduah etc even though they are Igbos? Absolutely nothing but oppression of the masses with wealth which does not belong to anyone but all Nigerians. We are deeply brainwshed.

ITbomb: People need to understand that it is not the FG as per Executive arm of government that single handedly gave the pardon .
.
The pardon was made by the Council of State which include Buhari, it is an elders council not ministers' forum that GEJ can influence.
.
Anybody mentioning clueless here should know that that include Buhari , Gowon , IBB , Abubakar etc

Go back to the report, read it thoroughly, comprehend it and come back and review your post!
