It's very unfortunate indeed. The rumour assumed a life of its own with some people not only bathing with it but also ingesting unhealthy amounts and applying it all over their bodies like some magic lotion! The health authorities need to immediately counter the misinformation before we start getting reports of salt-induced illnesses. |
Fatabarakallah! Congrats brother. May Allah (SWT) increase you in knowledge, wisdom and humility, ameen. |
dragan: That you and your pathetic igbo brothers are reigning freely on this forum and whatever media outlet you can findThank you brother for this brilliant submission. I've also observed that igbo posters have been having a field day on social media regarding happenings in the North. Why exactly is this so? Imagine them rejoicing more than the favoured and crying more than the bereaved! |
vicadex07: The koko of the matter is who are we really dealingYes, why, why, why It's only in Nigeria that ordinary questions are turned into rhetorical ones. |
anonimi: Is that what the British, the Americans did for their terrorist attacks or do you think we are INFERIOR to them because you consider our average IQ to be lower than theirsAlways deflecting, diverting, digressing....I ask again, what is wrong in finding out the sponsors of boko haram? Why is it that not a single one of them has been brought to book? Or is the President shielding them for a purpose as a poster earlier postulated? |
Testerfuze: Naija military wey be say na aboki plenty pass 4 thr, tell me wetin dey sabi apart 4rm the word "Go"....pple who are evn sayin western education is a sin thereby condemning it,I expect notin less jhor. You and your ilk are fond of making unreasonable and incoherent statements. Instead of placing the blame squarely at the doorsteps of the so called C-in-C, you are still mouthing off the rubbish your elders muttered 5 years ago when a northerner was in power. Contunu..... |
anonimi: APC is just playing to the gallery as usual in their PROPAGANDA manner.Says the pseudo intellectual, hypocritical PDP agent. What is wrong with constituting an international commission of enquiry to unearth the sponsors of this evil group once and for all? What exactly are you people afraid of? You need to work on your credibility, seriously. |
angela98: please my child no get hypertension over issues that is bigger than you...as you are on NL ranting, nagging and killing yourself on other peoples post, madam Eze is planning her next trip to Dubai. Keep stucking me and keep hurting your emotions. Try direct this your childish insults to boko haram not me. Excuse me i need to sip my glass of wine. Chai small pikinQuit all these mumbo jumbo of yours and say a loud amen to his prayer. |
seunbadmus: Ka je is 'go on' in hausa.. jeka means bag. He's right, you're wrong. Bag is called "jaka" in Hausa. |
Lanceslot: Some part of Igbo also call it IPA.Ogede - Ebira |
If the thread title had been "75 year old Damaturu billionaire weds 28 year old...", this thread would have reached its 6th or 7th page now with near-insane cries of "child abuse", "women abuse", "barbarism", "backward people", "terrible religion", etc, gushing out of the mouths of posters who are at present, more or less, overawed. |
saintneo: Doc, I served in Sokoto to be precise. I'll not be partial in my post. I must say that the North in general is nothing to write home about. May be you are from an elite family thus you were able to get educated; however 90% of your kins are wallowing abject poverty and ignorance. People from the North need to be exposed to the new age.Your post reeks of arrogance and the typical southern superiority complex. Your claim that you served in Sokoto implies that you are a graduate. Can you please substantiate your claim that 90% of Northerners are wallowing in abject poverty and ignorance? |
sCun: Today's imam must be good at radicalising people and turning them into terrorists.Ok, you've been noticed. Now, run along. |
You, Shekau or whatever you call yourself, are a coward. Is this how Muslim warriors of old behaved? No! Muslim warriors during the golden age of Islam behaved honourably and fought according to well-defined rules of engagement. They fought in response to relentless persecution. Even at that, while fighting in self-defence, they dared not breach limits set by Allah. So who are you, you bumbling criminal and on whose behalf are you carrying out these unspeakable atrocities? Bombing churches and christians, burning 42 young Muslim kids, slaughtering innocent men and women, killing 60 Muslims in a dawn raid at a mosque, etc, on what basis are you carrying out all these dastardly acts, you blood-sucking demon By your satanic actions, you have subjected Islam and genuine Muslims to ridicule, hate and humiliation, so much so that even brainless dolts now feel it is ok to insult reverred symbols of our faith.I don't want to say you are beyond redemption, you vile descendant of Maitatsine, but when your criminal gang of mindless murderers assasinated Shaykh Jafar Mahmud Adam in Kano on 13th April, 2007 for calling you idio.ts to order and asking you to stop mis-representing Islam, you set in pace a chain of events that might lead you to eternal damnation. You better repent now and seek for the forgiveness of all those you have wronged, before Azra'il (the Angel of Death) pays you a visit. Nonsense! |
These are interesting times indeed. When churches were being bombed and christians killed by this murderous group of criminals, i didn't "see" Muslims jumping for joy on NL. But see what's happening now: some NLers jubilating, gloating, posting all sorts of derogatory words. Later, when the tables are turned, they would be back, bleating like goats and claiming the moral high ground. So much for their much-vaunted educational attainments! |
Wow! Kudos to the researchers, and indeed all other researchers striving to make our lives better. |
Phew! This brilliant piece from Lagbaja is powerful enough to sober up an inebriated person! |
May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him abode in Jannatul Firdaus, ameen. |
Ammanda :It is paradoxical that you can accuse someone of being stu.pid and brainless, yet you are unable to deconstruct Mr Aboki's writing style to understand that he is actually Okija Juju using another handle to do what he knows how to do best: bring Islam and Muslims to ridicule! |
When it happens to others, they gloat and ask the government to do more; when the searchlight is turned on them, they scream blue murder and go all hysterical, saying ridiculous things like 'deportation', 'genocide', etc. What exactly is their problem?! ![]() |
Great! APC should get down to serious work immediately. Give us a workable blueprint, a revolutionary approach to governance, something radically different from what we have been served for 14 years. NO TIME!! |
Jazakumullahu Khyaran. |
Sincere 9gerian: Meanwhile, now that the decision of INEC favoured Tinubu's APC, Tinubu's internet warriors are elated. The rival APC have not propounded conspiracy theories, no mentioning of GEJ or PEJ, no media noise, no threat to tear down the country, no rain of curses on Jega, etc. The rival APC has simply gone to court. The thing dey pain you wella! Pele! You better get used to reading, writing and dreaming about APC thenceforth. |
Can't wait to have a virile opposition which offers a viable opposition to the ruling party. |
We all should learn to listen to all sides of a story before passing judgment or making comments. Our comments should also be devoid of sentiments, so as to to buttress our claims to education. @ OP, if the father of the lady in question feels very strongly that his daughter has been kidnapped by the Etsu Nupe, he should report to the law enforcement agents without further delay, instead of ranting. However, from all indications, it appears as though his daughter has pulled the rug from beneath his feet by taking her case to the Shari'ah Court in Bida. He should wait for its judgment and appeal if he is not satisfied with it, rather than trying hard to whip up sentiments. |
Cadet Sealord MallamThis name na die! It is worth an ammunition dump!! |
Another intense, thought-provoking article on this hotly debated issue. The rejoinder to Mrs Uwais's brilliant piece is also immensely illuminating. May Allah reward you both for your efforts. I think what all this has thrown up, is that knee-jerk reactions to weighty issues such as this, are shallow at best. We all need to cultivate the habit of reading widely and making informed judgments based on critical analytical reasoning. |
Although the fundamentals of faith and the practical pillars on which they stand remain immutable in principle, they may be interpreted and justified at the level of implementation in the exercise of public good. This process must of need be carried out solely by persons learned and eminently qualified to speak on the subject matter in question. We must always bear in mind that the ‘appropriation’ of divine authority in religious interpretation is best left to Scholars learned in Islamic legal philosophy and analytical reasoning. Having acquired the requisite knowledge and expertise (including the capacity to weigh the various views in the particular sphere of learning in the context of our times), these Jurists would also need to have imbibed, at the barest minimum, the attributes of humility, compassion, reflection, wisdom, self-restraint, diligence, objectivity, along with piety. Our learned Scholars must stand up and be heard, rather than remain silent on matters that so adversely affect us as individuals, as a region, a Nation and as members of a global community, which challenges paradoxically controvert the deeper meaning and purpose of the Shari’a.A million likes for this part of the hugely educative piece penned by Mrs. Uwais. Simply put, Senator Yerima is not known to be an expert on Islamic legal philosophy or jurisprudence, and so, lacks the capacity to make categorical statements or judgments on such weighty issues as the subject matter. Subhanallah, this is an issue, the ramifications of which, even the jurists in Saudi Arabia are still studying! I agree 100%, that our learned scholars in Nigeria can no longer afford to continue to be silent on this issue. In this case, as in so many other cases, SILENCE IS DEFINITELY NOT GOLDEN; IT IS DELETERIOUS! |
With all humility, i must say this invaluable piece put together by Mrs. Uwais has educated me a whole lot more than what i had read previously on this easily misunderstood issue. Therefore, i |
All that long speech because the wife of the President has been called to order. |
Okija juju: I am most disappointed in Anambra State governor & Ebonyi State governor. Why do you speak from both sides of your mouth? |
It's only in Nigeria that ordinary questions are turned into rhetorical ones.
