morgist: can someone please summarize the post for meYou had to quote the entire thing only to make that astonishing request? Next time when you want to respond directly to an original post, just click the reply button, OK? Never repeat this mistake again! @ OP, they should beware of fifth columnists. They should also bury selfish interests and be ready to look at the larger picture. That way, they might yet wrest power from the gluttons in Aso Rock. |
Wow! No opinions? Please let us share our experiences/opinions. I am just thinking that it would be hard for political office holders to pay lip service to the revival of primary school education in particular, if they are forced to send their wards to those schools. Some of us may claim that our siblings/kids do not attend public schools, but how many private schools are even operating according to standard? I know of a private school whose teachers (80% of whom are Youth Corp members and those on Teaching Practice) are told to ensure that every pupil must be given a pass mark, whether he/she deserves it or not |
It is no longer news that the educational sector is comatose. A vast majority of our public schools are presently no better than recreational centres, to which parents send their troublesome children. In particular, the collapse of public primary schools pains me greatly because i am a product of one of such schools which has been allowed to decay due to government neglect. The politicians may claim otherwise, but we at the base know the grim reality. Most public primary schools look like dungeons, with no desks and chairs, decrepit buildings and barely qualified, ill-motivated teachers. What do we expect from pupils who 'graduate' from those schools? Yet, we all know that when you get it wrong at the primary (foundation) level of education, it becomes extremely difficult to navigate through higher levels. I was shell-shocked when i visited the primary school i passed out of 22 years ago and saw the anemic state it was in. I pray that God gives me the strength to help in reviving it. What about you, fellow NLers? Did you attend a public primary (or secondary) school? In what condition is it at the moment? Should laws not be made to make it mandatory for all political office holders to send at least one of their children to public schools (primary especially), so that they would be committed to addressing the rot in the system? |
Gbawe Demdem These guys do not suffer fools gladly. |

manny4life: Obviously, my post isn't supposed to make sense to you, heck, I don't want it making sense to you. So, it's ok to be afraid when something frightens or makes you scared. Now that we have that out of the way, I'm sorry, did you say "MOST INDUSTRY EXPERTS"? Please enlighten us with facts and figures perhaps from this your experts how Nigerian banking was stronger 2-3years ago.You want me to furnish you with facts and figures to buttress the assertion that the banking industry is stronger now, but you did not give us any statistical evidence to confirm your claim that the CBN Governor has created a mess he is trying to cover, neither did you provide one to confirm that the man is clueless. Yet, you unwittingly gave him a plus when you said that he moved to curb loans to large debtors. You need facts and figures, right? Please find time to peruse the 2011 Annual Report of NDIC at www.ndic.org.ng. |
olabiz2010: 'Part of the CBN audit team’s investigation is to unravel why the management of the Mint company has consistently refused to place Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) in its Abuja and Lagos factories, and why other security measures were deliberately set aside'.Shocked beyond words? My friend, go and grow a thick skin joor! |
So much financial thuggery in high places. People now steal billions, not millions. I say, adopt the China blueprint NOW! |
gboss4sure: He will get tired of talking. BH Funder like him.Of course, we know where you are coming from. What next will you concoct? |
manny4life: Though he says the very obvious (the average Nigerian knows) it doesn't change the status quo that he's clueless. This is a perfect ploy - he's using his excessive bravery talking to cover his own mess, this is to deflect people and their criticism away from him. Yall look at him ( oh yeah he says the truth), BUT quickly forget he's a CBN governor responsible for the finance market operation in Niger, a key factor in the private sector. Don't worry, when he exist next year, yall criticized Soludo, we shall see how much mess SLS left behindYou are not making much sense here, i'm afraid. What mess are you talking about. Most industry experts agree that the banking sector is stronger now, than it had been 2-3 years ago. What exactly has he said that is false? He is clueless? As in, SERIOUSLY ![]() |
kunzel: He said there were documents that showed that “the (Labour) minister has no link with the issue of the company that has to do with the subsidy.”What document is this brainless fellow talking about? What document is more important than CAC's Form C07? I am not surprised though. How can a corrupt, decrepit bloke argue otherwise? |
Responses highly appreciated and so ON POINT. One can only imagine the psychological trauma the victim would suffer should she be forced to keep the unwanted pregnancy. Her best bet would be to speak to as few persons as possible, because chances are that some elders may persuade her that abortion, for reasons other than health, is ungodly. |
Ra.pe is one of the most heinous crimes in the world, but it is hugely understated. This is more so in Nigeria, where most victims would rather keep mute due to shame and deficiencies in the law enforcement process. If a lady you know gets pregnant after being molested, what would you advise her to do? Keep the pregnancy-at the risk of never loving the child-or do away with it and banish all memories of the terrible event? |
totorimi: I believe Boko haram will cease the moment a muslim like Buhari assumes the presidency but then the Christians will be bleeped if they remain calm when a muslim is at the helms of affairs. When that happens Agbesu, OPC, Massob, Ibo youths, Niger/Delta youths, MEND, Bakassi, and all of them must unleash the dragon upon the land let what wants to happen let it happen. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. And the dragon so unleashed will consume you first. |
Arysexy: RELIGION OF PISS!You couldn't wait to confirm the story and get details before rushing to spew that rubbish, could you? |
When Nigerians are ready to remove the heavy logs of tribalism and religious bigotry from their eyes, we will see clearly that unless and until the killer party is sent packing, we shall know no peace and development. |
So he is trying desperately to side-step corruption inquiries by scheming himself into the BOT of the invidious party? Nemesis may yet catch up with this old man. |
lorddannie: northerners(females) adopt both their dad and husbands name in marriage. This is a precautionary measure, as they could be divorced any moment. This they call ''sak'ki uku''Where did you get that from? The fact is, it is a prophetic tradition. The wives of the Prophet (SAW) and his companions retained their fathers' names even after getting married. |
Jinns co-exist with us. Like us, there are good and bad jinns. The bad ones are agents of Iblis, and are used by wicked people, intent on wrecking the lives of their perceived enemies. Muslims should try and cultivate the habit of praying before doing just about anything. May Allah protect us from evil jinns and their patrons, ameen. |
Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raaji'uun. Kullu nafsin zaa'ikatul maut, thumma ilaina turja'uun. May Allah (SWT) forgive her sins and admit her into Jannatul Firdaus, ameen. May He give her loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss. |
Mighty Sparrow: Who are these Boko Haram people? What exactly is their mission? Why are they attacking churches? Why are the emirs and northern elites keeping quiet over their activities? Why are those Muslims in the scene of their attacks enthusiastically shout, 'Allah akbar'? Do we really have innocent northern muslim who is not secretly in support of the activities of the cursed BH? Could anyone please answer these questions? What's the point in asking those questions when you already have a prejudiced mindset? |
Cerebral Fibrosis = Degenerative atrophy of the inner membrane of the cerebrum, caused by massive build up of corrosive fluid. Common amongst intensely anxious middle-aged ladies. |
Wsdm: ... And the north with higher potentials in term of land mass is waiting aimlessly for oil revenue. What a pity. The North is not waiting for oil revenue, aimlessly or otherwise as you insinuate. Northerners have been farming since God knows when. But i agree that the political elites have become very lazy. |
When i lost my dad four years ago. But only my blood-shot eyes told the story in public. |
How did we end up with such a purposeless government And a president who surrounds himself with ignoble comedians? |
Some Nigerians are unrepentant cynics indeed. They insisted that Buhari was a sponsor of Boko Haram without any iota of evidence and logic, and insisted that he must come out and publicly denounce the sect in order to 'clear' his name. He has done that now, yet they reject it, claiming that a press conference is not enough! Pray, were we sent to acquire education only for us to reason sheepishly? |
"We have serious limitation when it comes to sport management, we don't know who the right people to do the job, we need the policy to develop and be on par with the international world," he stated. What? |
Okoro2015: You are welcome to Anambra & Enugu in so far as you don't behave like your brothers up North. ![]() |
Those who are advocating life imprisonment instead of capital punishment for convicted murderers should provide honest answers to these questions: 1. Does anyone have the right to to take another person's life unjustly? 2. Is it not immoral and wicked for taxpayers to be forced to bear the unwanted burden of keeping those psychopaths alive and healthy while relatives of slain persons wallow in grief? |
Obafemi Martins has to rediscover his form soonest for him to regain his place in the current team. |
