Politics › Re: Why Presidency Should Go To The Southeast – Wole Soyinka by BlueMurder(m): 9:33pm On Apr 04, 2023 |
LegendHero: Prof is a committed democrat who understood that in a democracy, you have to build the bridges and win a nationally contested election to be president.
Peter Obi the religious bigot believed he can win election with only Christian votes and he waged religious war polarizing pastors to use their sacred altar for propaganda. He even went all the way to tell Bishop Oyedepo what propaganda to push on a certain day especially when you know the Bishop got thousands or millions of adherents.
Even Tinubu who chose a Muslim-Muslim ticket still appeal to the Christians and had to go all the way to CAN headquarters to explain himself.
There might be an Ibo president in the future, but it won’t be Obi because he already killed his chances by himself. I tip Prof. Soludo in that regard. Soludo would be acceptable to the North as he's not viewed as bigotic. But will he get the support of his region? History has shown that they dislike intensely, their brothers who have goodwill in the North. |

Politics › Re: Declare Bandits Terrorists - 36 State Speakers Tell Buhari by BlueMurder(m): 2:15pm On Oct 24, 2021 |
Aufbauh: Our politicians are always playing to the gallery. The questions on my mind about this are: Firstly, does it takes any special ceremony to declare bandits as terrorist which they are? Secondly, what can they do differently to bandits if they're declared terrorist?
As far as I'm concern bandits are terrorists. Exactly! The whole hullabaloo is nauseating and you wonder whether it's due to willful ignorance or mischief. I mean, if you lack the provisions of the Terrorism (Prevention) Act, 2011, it's clear that bandits by their modus operandi, have already been designated as terrorists by law! Do we still need a ceremony to announce that?! |
Politics › Re: Don't Call Them Terrorists, Call Them Bandits: NBC To Media Houses- Steven Kefas by BlueMurder(m): 2:58pm On Oct 22, 2021 |
SmartPolician: There's nothing wrong with that. The problem is the president/Attorney General of the Federation. He has to declare them terrorists for everyone to follow suit. Until then, they are still bandits. Terrorism and banditry are two terms with a huge difference. The idea that the President or whoever has to declare them terrorists before maximum force can be applied on these criminals is ridiculous, because their status as terrorists has already been codified in our laws. The Terrorism (Prevention) Act, 2011 has already identified the following as acts of terrorism: 1. Kidnapping 2. Destruction to government or public property 3. Seizure of any means of public or goods transportation and diversion 4. Manufacture, possession, acquisition, transport, supply, and use of weapons, explosive devices without lawful authority 5. Release of dangerous substances, causing of fire, explosion with the intention of endangering human lives. So, from the foregoing, the law has already identified whoever is involved in these crimes as terrorists. |

Initially, I thought it was a disease called Hemorrhoids, because the symptoms are exactly the same, and I never imagined this could happen to me. Two nights ago, my stool was filled with dark red blood; so I had to quickly inform my parents. They advised I go for a full scale test. I really hope this gets to the states, that Twitter fight wey we dey always find with US, US go give us hot hot. The sad part is it's only going to get worse. All these things are a backlash product of Cyber fraud, claiming woke and that's why the men around the age of 33 below will lose alot, because the women we are suppose to lead, we are a joke to them, hence the gender war palava. Social media validation is killing alot
Nigeria has lost it's morals and because of this, it's society may fall.

If the civil rights movement had happened in our time and MLK gave the I have a dream speech, some girl/guy on SM to feed her/his ego can post "Yeah so what, I also had a dream this morning but I can't remember, dreams are not cool" and that comment will get 50k likes, everybody will laugh and make memes about it effectively killing the Civil Rights Movement.
We'll wake up the next day thinking we have progressed because everybody had a good laugh not knowing we have regressed.
Now my question is this, How many times do you think we have done something like that unknowingly, effectively killing progress? You and FrLucas are damn right! I know funny stuff when I see them. Using our ancestors' pictures to make lewd jokes is terribly unpalatable. |

if that's the new SGF I'm highly disappointed. watch the way Kyari talked to him like servant boy. That's Babagana Monguno, the NSA, NOT the new SGF! @OP, the HOCS's memo indicates that she verbally sounded out the President on the 11th of October, long after Maina had been reinstated. My question is why didn't she do that (with documentary proof) much earlier? After all, the correspondences from the AGF dated as far back as January. I think, like the AGF, the HOCS is not a very honest person. I hope I'm wrong though. |

tintingz: Well said.
The reason there can be no law on how to dress in Nigeria is because of Africa culture and background, the bills as been passed before and they threw it to the bin.
When I was very religious, I use to criticize indecent dressing but I realized we all have our background and culture, I can see sone religious people are not in thier right sense after all.
What people don't understand is that women covering up are also raped daily everywhere, women covering can be raped, I've read alot of reports on Saudi Arabia about thier women being molested and harassed almost everyday. There are some men that find women covering up sexually attractive, infact I've read a thread of Nairaland guys sexually fantasizing hijab women.
Kindly read some comments of some guys here >> https://www.nairaland.com/3876927/media-personalities-wearing-hijab-ramadhan
^^^This is a survey research.
If minor children can be raped then what stops women covering up not raped? There are many factors that causes rape cases not only indecency but most people(especially religious freaks) blame women indencency on rape. All I see in your statements is political correctness. Be sincere, would you advise your daughter/sister to dress indecently in public? |

Detailed response! Makes me remember ex-CBN Governor Sanusi's long but brilliant response to FRCN's allegations in 2014. Whoever advised Kachikwu to write that letter did not have his interest at heart. My take is that he is struggling mightily to come to terms with the less glamorous office of Minister of State. But I expect that he would have known what the position of Minister of State entailed before accepting the appointment.
I also detect some sort of ego battle between Baru and Kachikwu. I'm not sure they had a good working relationship when the latter was NNPC GMD. |
