Properties / Re: "Face Me I Face You" Experience by BlueMurder(m): 12:21pm On Mar 12, 2013
Many years ago when i was in Primary 5, we were living in a very decent 'face-me-i-face-you' apartment somewhere in the north. One day i had an attack of malaria fever. As was the tradition those days, chloroquine tablets were quickly procured for me. I always had this very severe itching reaction to chloroquine, even when i took it with phenegal tablets. Usually, the itching keeps me indoors for 3 days minimum during which i dare not take my bath.

Unfortunately for me on that occasion, i was to write my terminal exam a day after i took ill and started consuming the distasteful drug. So i had to take my birth and go to school. I walked with trepidation to the bathroom (shared by tenants in 8 rooms). My parents gave me 'false' assurances that i was a man and all that. I entered the bathroom, said my 'last' prayers, lifted the bucket and poured all the water on my body in one fell swoop. OMO!!! It felt as if a million bees were having a feast all over my fragile body. I shouted like a demented man and ran out of the bathroom stark na.ked like a man on fire. Kai, come see as men, women and children dey scatter in different directions...

Everyone (my siblings inclusive[sub][/sub] angry) had a good laugh at me for several days after. That was the last time i took chloroquine tablets.

Judging by the hysteria on display, one would think these oil blocks are responsible for Nigeria's total oil production. We are here shouting ourselves hoarse while the real benefactors, the elites from all parts of the country are quietly laughing their way to the banks.

gboss4sure: Buhari should go and sleep. He went their to talk trash but didn't give just 1 solution to the problems he mentioned.

No US or UK citizen/politician will say something bad about his country even when things are bad.

Buhari killed his career when he ended civilian rule for military rule and he has not yet changed, he is just a wolf in sheeps clothing and a more bitter human being than before.

Shooting yourself in the foot as usual. Your blind hatred for the messenger prevented you from reading and comprehending the message. You are obviously an educated fellow: please use it to ventilate your mind and rid it of all shackles.

Onlytruth: I hope they are serious about picking Nigeria's president purely on MERIT. If they do that, then power would not go up core North for at least 50 years. That is how I read this statement.

A region that is as backward as Somalia should not be trusted with running areas as advanced as some of the western countries (at least in terms of human resource advancement).

I also hope that Metu is being serious about MERIT and not another way to self-serve.

It is clear that you have never been to the North or interacted with any Northerner before. Hence, you lack the capacity to make the bolded statement.

gboss4sure: Am not supporting GEJ on this issue and will never support him for spending such amount of money from the poverty alleviation fund. GEJ is my brother as a Nigerian but not from my zone cause am Igbo from Imo State, I don't agree with some of his policies but it doesn't mean that i should start shouting that he is the problem of Nigeria and ignore the fact that corruption is our problem and has been there before GEJ and will still be there after he is gone if nothing is done by us the citizens instead of relying on Tinubu, Buhari,Rochas and others to carry out this change for us while we all know they all have their targets which we aint gonna benefit from. In-fact all the promises GEJ made to South East am yet to see him carry out any of them and yes i understand the pressure that comes with been a President. haven been in a position whereby the decision i will take will affect a whole community i simply understand the pressure that the President goes through trying to please every tribe with their differences.

If we want to heal Nigeria lets trace from when corruption started and who was involved and then start dealing with them instead of looking at the surface of the problem while the roots are deep.

Guy, stop back-tracking, you have always defended GEJ. Another thing you are known for on this forum, is your morbid hatred for Buhari, like he is satan himself. So spare us your revisionism.

@OP, talk about robbing Peter to pay Paul. We really need capital punishment for executive corruption in Nigeria.

What naivety grin . . . . Sen Ndume became a PDP member just before the 2011 elections and his contacts with Konduga preceded his PDP membership i.e he was formerly an ANPP chieftain . . . Hope you understand now ? . . .

Is Ali Modu Sheriff also of the PDP or Shekaru whose govt purported gave BH 10 million monthly stipend a PDP member

A reason why i said you should thread softly in your BH assertions . .cos as an APC member/supporter, your not immuned . . . . .My post below again . . .

Oya back to the 7 point Agenda kiss

@bolded, is that what the courts told you? In any case, does it matter that Ndume was a former ANPP member? Was it not post-2011 when he had become a PDP member, that the BH menace became deadlier? Was it not between October 3 and November 3, 2011 that 73 communication contacts were discovered between him and Konduga? Was he still in ANPP at that time? Read the link below and get yourself educated:

Again, i ask, if Ali Modu Sheriff and Ibrahim Shekarau are BH financiers as you allege, why are they still free men in the society? What does that say about the competence of this administration? Btw, are you tired of repeating the mantra that Buhari is BH's chief financier? Really, you are beginning to sound like a broken record!

P.S: I don't remember saying that i am an APC member/supporter. Where did you get that from?

Mavor: Please the moderators should stop posting religious threads on the frontpage.

I take it Seun is a muslim. Cos when I wanted to post this, I got this Nairaland message---> "To avoid being banned, please ensure that your post is not offensive to Islam." Meanwhile Christian threads face rubbish left, right and centre. Yet no moderation. Either Seun is a muslim or you have sold out on the free speech and liberal ideals that used to be the bedrock of this site. I don't support religious insult, at the same time I detest censorship of speech and ideas. Anyone who comes to Nairaland and sees comments he or she doesn't like should leave and never come back. Period.

And how is it the fault of Muslims that "christian threads face rubbish left, right and centre"? This place is not a jungle. Abide by the rules or ignore it, simple!

Gbawe:

Bro, you don't like Buhari then fine. You should however be careful revealing that your dislike of the man is highly unreasonable and has compromised your sense of fairness to anything/anyone he is associated with. Firstly, the PDP is currently the main sponsor of Boko Haram and not Buhari. Indeed your failed C-in-C confessed that Boko Haram has infiltrated every level of his Government. Where does Buhari fit into that statement?

Secondly, the article shows clearly that you lied because security was mentioned but you either missed it or deliberately set out to deceive others here because you are one of those keen to tag Buhari with extremism when those you support are the biggest backers of terrorism or the biggest fakers whose inaction and weak leadership is allowing terrorism to proliferate in Nigeria.

Don't mind him bro. They shout "Buhari this", "Buhari that" like mindless simpletons. If half of the lies shamelessly peddled about this man is true, how come he is still a free man? Since the BH saga started, how many CPC/ACN guys have been arrested in connection with the crimes? Conversely, how many of the PDP goons linked with the murderous group are behind bars at the moment?

spywareczar: APC: muslims party or what?
Why is it that the Champions of APC are muslims?
PLEASE count us out of that merger. We can’t support APC. U lied that it’s progressive, but it’sIslamic. Even we urge muslims with good faith to desist from this APC for their true peace and growth of Islam and Northerners. APC is a Muslim islamist party. If you doubt me check out the big wigs of the party: Shetima Kashim, Abdul Aziz, Religious bigot El-Rufai, Boko Haram General Buhari, Ibrahim Gaidan, Tinubu, Boko haram wannabe, Aregbesola, Gov. Yari (Zamfara), Yerima, Umar Tanko, Alhaji Fashola (I never knew he was a Muslim), Gov. Amosun, etc. These are all Muslims who want to turn Nigeria into islamic country.

I am sure you didn't read the write-up. So Achike Udenwa is a Muslim? Audu Ogbeh is a Muslim? Osita Okechukwu is a Muslim? Prof. Tam David West is a Muslim? Honestly, you are incompetent at carrying out your assignment as a PDP-paid agent on NL.

You are wrong. If you observe closely, you'll see that it was our performances in the Nations Cup that enabled us to surge a massive 22 places to our present 30th position. Ditto for Burkina Faso.

Desdola: After flogging Mali 4 - 1 in the nations cup, they are still ranked ahead of us. I fail to believe this crap.

Consistency is it. They have been very consistent in their performances over the past 4, 5 years. Remember they won bronze at the 2012 AFCON, a feat they repeated last week. We didn't even qualify for AFCON 2012. If we can maintain consistent good performances going forward, our ranking can only get better.
Family / Re: Dear Nigerian Men That Don't Help With Housework, by BlueMurder(m): 2:39pm On Feb 13, 2013
dasparrow:

I understand where you are coming from but I am afraid you are preaching to the choir. Nigeria generally speaking is a misogynist chauvinist country where women are regarded as property and inferior to the males. Children in Nigeria are taught from an early age that boys are preferred to girls by the chauvinist utterances they hear from their fathers and surprisingly some mothers in the home. So what do you expect? The average Nigerian woman in Nigeria equally supports chauvinism as well by not speaking out strongly against it.

I have heard people say severally that Nigeria is the worst country to be in if you are a woman and I think I agree. If you are waiting for a typical Nigerian bred male to assist you in doing house chores, you will wait till eternity. The worst part is that most Nigerian men don't even bring home a decent salary so they have to depend on their wives' income as supplemental income yet they refuse to help a little in the home. Bring in a house maid and they will will 99.9% of the time sexually molest her if she is in no way blood related to them.

If you are looking for a compassionate man with a conscience who knows how to love his wife like Christ loves the church and who cares about your happiness and overall well being, then you will do well not to marry or become one with a Nigerian bred male. Just because you were brought into this world as a Nigerian woman does not mean you must marry from your country especially if you come from a third world chauvinist country like Nigeria.

No amount of pleading or begging will make a Nigerian male help you in the home because most are raised to hate the female gender from a very tender age. Hence marrying them will leave you burnt out, scarred, and looking way older than your age in the not-so-distant future. I have advised all my young single female cousins who are in their early and mid twenties to be wise and not marry from Nigeria if they want to live long, healthy and happy lives.
