Many years ago when i was in Primary 5, we were living in a very decent 'face-me-i-face-you' apartment somewhere in the north. One day i had an attack of malaria fever. As was the tradition those days, chloroquine tablets were quickly procured for me. I always had this very severe itching reaction to chloroquine, even when i took it with phenegal tablets. Usually, the itching keeps me indoors for 3 days minimum during which i dare not take my bath. Unfortunately for me on that occasion, i was to write my terminal exam a day after i took ill and started consuming the distasteful drug. So i had to take my birth and go to school. I walked with trepidation to the bathroom (shared by tenants in 8 rooms). My parents gave me 'false' assurances that i was a man and all that. I entered the bathroom, said my 'last' prayers, lifted the bucket and poured all the water on my body in one fell swoop. OMO!!! It felt as if a million bees were having a feast all over my fragile body. I shouted like a demented man and ran out of the bathroom stark na.ked like a man on fire. Kai, come see as men, women and children dey scatter in different directions... Everyone (my siblings inclusive[sub][/sub] ) had a good laugh at me for several days after. That was the last time i took chloroquine tablets. |
ON POINT, irrespective of her reputation and intentions. |
Judging by the hysteria on display, one would think these oil blocks are responsible for Nigeria's total oil production. We are here shouting ourselves hoarse while the real benefactors, the elites from all parts of the country are quietly laughing their way to the banks. |
gboss4sure: Buhari should go and sleep. He went their to talk trash but didn't give just 1 solution to the problems he mentioned.Shooting yourself in the foot as usual. Your blind hatred for the messenger prevented you from reading and comprehending the message. You are obviously an educated fellow: please use it to ventilate your mind and rid it of all shackles. |
Police incompetence on display yet again. Reason why murder cases and other heinous crimes in this country will continue to remain unresolved. |
Geomac: “Health workers under the watchful eyes of the visiting policemen later buried the two fresh bodies in the burrow pit, while the other decayed human parts, including bones which littered the place, were not attended to”, the villager said.Without any sort of investigation |
zumarock8: total fabricated story, am close to the place of event mentioned by the op. No such thing happened. First class lierSo all the media houses that carried the story lied, abi? |
Were it to be a Muslim who beheaded his dad under the influence of his imam, this thread would have hit 5 pages by now, with deranged people using the opportunity hurl profanities at Islam and its adherents. |
taharqa: Some of you are just realli sillly, LOL.. How does Gen Buhari lecture in a Conference organisd by BEN TV (a 'Nigerian' TV Station) in d British Paliament building (He is not even addressing d British Paliament itself) mean that anybody is losing relevance? You guys tink any person care bout dis? This is d 4th in d Series, 3 oda persons hv addressd d Conference previously, so what's realli d Bigi now? Its just a normal Conference, joor. You guys are unknowingly mking it look like the General NEEDS dis realli bad in order to polish his International and Democratic credentials- two areas that are not sm of his strongest points..... Safe journey, GeneralAnd you had to insult him in order to make your point, right? |
ifihearam: This is a rape on democracy and a slap on the face of the british parliament, how can the founder of boko haram address them on democratic issues,a man who toppled a democratic government,a brutal and serial loser, this is a shame to the sacred institution of democracy. Shame on the organisers and shame to the british parliament.Unlike you, the British parliament does not dwell on satanic gossip. |
Onlytruth: I hope they are serious about picking Nigeria's president purely on MERIT. If they do that, then power would not go up core North for at least 50 years. That is how I read this statement. It is clear that you have never been to the North or interacted with any Northerner before. Hence, you lack the capacity to make the bolded statement. |
ubong560: Who knows if he used football age dat time he founded d site wch means d official 23 could have been meant 30/31 and seven yrs now, how many yrs is that? What's with all this mumbo jumbo? Irrelevant! |
Congrats Seun, you are a source of hope to like-minded fellows. |
Mavor: Guy park well abeg. This is not a muslim forum but a secular one. You guys want to bring religious stuff on frontpage, then open your own site. This message is also addressed to Christians and Traditional guys. Religion is a personal issue for every man/woman. Don't frontpage it.Were you forced to visit this forum? Or was the OP offensive to your sensibilities in any way? |
ffo: Frank Mba, the spokesperson for the Nigeria Police Force could not be reached as he did not pick or return calls made to his phone.I WONDER WHY SPOKESPERSONS OF SECURITY OUTFITS DON'T RESPOND TO CALLS MADE OR MESSAGES SENT TO THEIR PHONES. WHAT IS THEIR BRIEF THEN? |
One year is enough to gather enough evidence to prosecute suspects. If the government has acquired such evidence, it should go ahead with the prosecution immediately; otherwise, they should be released. |
DANILSA: This is were the issue of moderate Islamist and extremist comes to play. Also is the issue of 21 century Islamist And 8century muslims. Hope hausa muslims will read ur post and learn from yorubas.Your stereotyping is very insensitive and irritating! |
Extremism is unislamic. If you kill a certain Mr. A because Mr. B killed Mr. C, how are going to defend that action before Allah on the Day of Reckoning? |
jmaine: What naivety @bolded, is that what the courts told you? In any case, does it matter that Ndume was a former ANPP member? Was it not post-2011 when he had become a PDP member, that the BH menace became deadlier? Was it not between October 3 and November 3, 2011 that 73 communication contacts were discovered between him and Konduga? Was he still in ANPP at that time? Read the link below and get yourself educated: http://www.ngrguardiannews.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=107554:boko-haram-ndume-spoke-to-konduga-73-times-on-phone&catid=1:national&Itemid=559 Again, i ask, if Ali Modu Sheriff and Ibrahim Shekarau are BH financiers as you allege, why are they still free men in the society? What does that say about the competence of this administration? Btw, are you tired of repeating the mantra that Buhari is BH's chief financier? Really, you are beginning to sound like a broken record! P.S: I don't remember saying that i am an APC member/supporter. Where did you get that from? |
jmaine: On your Sen Ndume - Konduga and BH referencing . . .hope you get it . . .Let's not derail the thread . . .ThanksAnd how are Sen Ndume and Ali Sada Umar Konduga members of the ANPP? You are the one derailing the thread. |
jmaine: Thread softly on which assertions please? |
Mavor: Please the moderators should stop posting religious threads on the frontpage. And how is it the fault of Muslims that "christian threads face rubbish left, right and centre"? This place is not a jungle. Abide by the rules or ignore it, simple! |
Gbawe: Bro, you don't like Buhari then fine. You should however be careful revealing that your dislike of the man is highly unreasonable and has compromised your sense of fairness to anything/anyone he is associated with. Firstly, the PDP is currently the main sponsor of Boko Haram and not Buhari. Indeed your failed C-in-C confessed that Boko Haram has infiltrated every level of his Government. Where does Buhari fit into that statement?Don't mind him bro. They shout "Buhari this", "Buhari that" like mindless simpletons. If half of the lies shamelessly peddled about this man is true, how come he is still a free man? Since the BH saga started, how many CPC/ACN guys have been arrested in connection with the crimes? Conversely, how many of the PDP goons linked with the murderous group are behind bars at the moment? |
When your role models are morally depraved nonentities, you know you have a serious problem. |
spywareczar: APC: muslims party or what?I am sure you didn't read the write-up. So Achike Udenwa is a Muslim? Audu Ogbeh is a Muslim? Osita Okechukwu is a Muslim? Prof. Tam David West is a Muslim? Honestly, you are incompetent at carrying out your assignment as a PDP-paid agent on NL. |
manny4life: This is no small KARMA, but on a large scale, they only enjoying it at the moment because ONE NIGERIA exist, imagine where that unity is broken, Northern Nigeria will turn to Somalia over night... While this isn't a laughing matter, but hey, they opened the door of acceptance to terrorism which has YET to consume them. And you think that the south will be insulated from the fallout of such a break-up? What a condescending crap. Beware of what you wish for man! |
THIS IS VERY SERIOUS |
Royal2011: Pls note that our ranking will only surge after consideration of the AFCON matches. What helped us were some of the friendliest we played before AFCON.By next month we should climb to about 15th position in the world. The nations cup just ended so the matches were not put into considerationYou are wrong. If you observe closely, you'll see that it was our performances in the Nations Cup that enabled us to surge a massive 22 places to our present 30th position. Ditto for Burkina Faso. |
Desdola: After flogging Mali 4 - 1 in the nations cup, they are still ranked ahead of us. I fail to believe this crap.Consistency is it. They have been very consistent in their performances over the past 4, 5 years. Remember they won bronze at the 2012 AFCON, a feat they repeated last week. We didn't even qualify for AFCON 2012. If we can maintain consistent good performances going forward, our ranking can only get better. |
dasparrow: I understand where you are coming from but I am afraid you are preaching to the choir. Nigeria generally speaking is a misogynist chauvinist country where women are regarded as property and inferior to the males. Children in Nigeria are taught from an early age that boys are preferred to girls by the chauvinist utterances they hear from their fathers and surprisingly some mothers in the home. So what do you expect? The average Nigerian woman in Nigeria equally supports chauvinism as well by not speaking out strongly against it.Speak for yourself man! |
Good, should make for an interesting final. While they are at it though, they should also overturn that phantom penalty awarded to Zambia in our first round game. |
) had a good laugh at me for several days after. That was the last time i took chloroquine tablets.
. . . . Sen Ndume became a PDP member just before the 2011 elections and his contacts with Konduga preceded his PDP membership i.e he was formerly an ANPP chieftain . . . Hope you understand now ? . . .
