There are so many Lebanese and Chinese in the NW, North Central in Nigeria running construction and illegal mines are they being kidnapped at a high rate or do they have a side deal with the bandits that guarantees their security in exchange for something

I will be thinking that the foreigners will have a higher ransom value that random villagers who probably have never seen 20K in the last 3 months

When the Niger Delta militancy was ongoing, the expatriates were being targeted more and it makes economic sense cos they will command a higher ransom
I think there is more to the presence of those Asians in the North. The word on the street is that those guys may be the ones fueling insecurity .

From what I know about the Niger Delta, if u like get 20 armed bodyguards if those boys want to kidnap for ransom, they will do that. And they did kidnap a lot of expats throughout the period of agitation.

I think that the Asians are moving around freely over there definitely means they have some kind of arrangement with the gun wielding bandits.

Imagine the horror those teenage girls would have been subjected to in those 48hrs
Of course, anything to secure release of the girls is welcome.

I was only pointing it out that for the man to boldly claim the girls will be released soon, he must have been in touch with the kidnappers and they are getting ready to meet their demands.

Even if Johnny Cochran and Cicero had combined to represent Awolowo he would still have been found guilty. It was not a matter of him defending himself or someone else doing it.

You remember Sowemimo's "My hands are tied" statement?
Sowemimo years later explained what he meant by his hands being tied. He said because he will sentence the young co-defendants with Awolowo, there was no way he would allow Awolowo walk. He said his hands are tied because letting Awolowo walk with a slap on the wrist sentence will be injustice.

But u are right, it was a political case and one side of the divide would always claim the judge was unfair

Not guilty but foolish according to you.
I didn't say "not guilty" and I didn't say "guilty".

I am neither a judge nor a lawyer; I do not have enough legal training to know if he is guilty or not. The lawyers who would've helped him he declined their help.

So let the judge who is an authority over such matters decide whether he is guilty or not.

For me it's better to shout o 😂

That's how chickens do because they know they will still die. So let the world know that they protested at least
I don't think he is guilty, I think he is foooolish.

The judge will decide if he is guilty or not.

Well, he has made noise like the chicken in ur analogy, let's wait to see if his protest matter in the general scheme of things or not.

The SC acknowledged that the rendition was illegal, siding with the decision of the Appeal Court. Isn't that enough to let him go.

Why start the trial afresh unless there is a grand plan to nail him.
What does this even mean? grin grin grin

They should let him go because Spy360 says so? Initially you claimed he was discharged and acquitted, now that u know he wasn't acquitted u switch to asking why they didn't let him go . U are funny aswear.

You see why I ask u to follow the judgement like I'm currently doing on Channels live stream? The Judge has already quoted relevant case laws that the manner of his rendition doesn't affect the trial in any way.

He didn't put in defense despite having several opportunities to do so. He has laid his bed, the judge will soon make him lie on it. It's only a matter of time. Stay Jiggy!

Who says I'm bothered?

I passed a commentary that with the way things are going he will be sentenced to prison because he chose not to use legal counsel but chose to be acting drama in the court room.

How does that translate to me being bothered he is throwing away his lifeline? undecided

Spy360:
Are you aware that the Appeal Court declared him discharged and acquitted?
This matter has been treated already.

Appeal court discharged him but did not acquit him. The appeal court ruled on a single issue of rendition and discharged him on the basis that his rendition was illegal.

FG appealed that decision at the supreme court and the supreme court overturned the decision of the appeal court. You can check and confirm this urself.

Spy360:
Are you insinuating that he has a genuine defense if he had used his lawyers?
No, I'm not.

I'm saying he didn't make an attempt to defend himself after telling the court he would be doing so without the help of his lawyers. He discarded the advice of the judge and that of his legal counsel. He then proceed to be unruly in court without actually putting up a defence.

If he had allowed his lawyers do their jobs, he may have a chance by them presenting a superior argument to that of the prosecution team.

He has thrown away his chance of presenting his case like a reasonable and civil person. Whatever judgement the court passes today, Kanu deserves it for how he has conducted himself

Look at how the DSS was begging him to leave the court room. He was just shouting and cursing. There's no courtroom on earth where that would be allowed. No one.

I don't blame him at all. He's now a hero, courtesy of Buhari. His case now looks like persecution too, when you see how terrorists from the north are pampered.
I also have issues with how Buhari held him for long without convicting him. The whole thing made it look like he was being persecuted when in fact he is supposed to be made to answer for his crime of inciting violence and destabilizing the eastern part of the country.

I hope you got my response correctly.

I said it is wiser to use a lawyer. However that is on the premise that justice will actually be done.

Whether he agitated or not, if the body language is set at declaring him guilty, it won't stop the ruling. So it's better to agitate so that he won't go down silent.

If you're going to argue whether the judge would not set at declaring him guilty, don't waste your time. Didn't you see how our PEPT and Supreme Court sold out people's mandate in the electoral panel?
I think u should try and follow the judgement on Channels TV Live streaming on Youtube. The judge alleged this man refused to call defense witness who would have made his defense strong.

How can he refuse to open defence and then turn around to claim the court is bent on declaring him guilty ?

Let me tell u the truth; Kanu is showing signs of madness with how he has handled this case.

With this incessant killings, abductions kidnapping and general insecurities, one will expect the FG to take a proactive actions to halt the scheme to avert stories that touch.

At least, halt the scheme for now till we have little control over the security of the country.

God knows if I have my way, I will skip this scheme....
I learnt they closed Kwara state NYSC camp . You know the camp in Kwara is located at Patigi which is one of the areas being terrorized by bandits/terrorists in recent times.

I think the major reason they don't want to put a stop to the scheme is because of the various vendors get contract to supply NYSC kits, food items in NYSC camp, etc. Those people are powerful and will lobby at the highest level of government for the scheme to continue irrespective of the security situation in the country.

I aways advise anybody who doesn't fancy the idea of serving in far away states with insecurity issues to liaise with their LI or ZI to share their allawee while they ghost the scheme. Na only person wey survive after service year go fit think of his future o.

It's wise to use a lawyer if he is certain that justice and fairness will be done. If not, no lawyer will agitate for him the way he has agitated.

Justice Omotosho is a known rogue judge, isn't he?

I'll create a scene myself if I am not confident of getting justice.

Even if they will kill him, at least let the whole world hear his voice.
Do you think Judges pronounce judgement based on agitations or emotions of the accused/defendant?

Shouting on top of his voice or accusing the judge of being compromised would not make the judge release him if he has a bad case. (which I think he does)

Only a lawyer can explore the loopholes in the charges against him and use those loopholes to put up a defense for him. His opinion about Omotosho won't matter if he is sentenced to prison because of his bad case. Even if he appeals, the appeal court will most likely affirm the lower court's judgement if he continues to fooolishly agitate for himself instead of getting a good lawyer to argue his case.

This is like a father to the neighbourhood nuisance telling everyone - it is because this guy never went to school he behaves like this.

Is it not the same clowns who will reject anything western and will tell you about how their way of life is superior to any western nonsense?

Honestly when these people talk sometimes you can see the curse of the quota system. People bereft of logical reasoning making loud and foolish statements with confidence
Exactly!

These people reject education and would even kidnap students from schools to drive home their point , but here is Gumi saying it is lack of education that is responsible for their violence.

He also claims their lack of employment contributed to them embracing terrorism. We all know animal husbandry/herding is a profession in most parts of the world. Instead for their elites who have made money in business and politics to assist them in practicing modern livestock farming through ranching, they are busy blaming government and choosing to destroy means of livelihood of farmers and other law abiding citizens.

Honestly, people like Gumi needs to be drilled and investigated to really understand the motive behind some of these reckless statements he keeps making to justify terrorism.

So this man claims because herdsmen lack education, that's why they go about attacking other law abiding citizens and wreaking havoc? So what about the uneducated people down south? Do they go about carrying RPGs and automatic assault rifles like the Fulani herdsmen are doing?

This man just dey bring dumb arguments to defend terrorists and he thinks he is making sense.
