This evening I saw a thread in Front page about "bandits" passing through kotangora road in broad daylight and I gasped at how bad things have become on that axis from Niger state via Kotangora down to Kebbi and further to Sokoto...... Some of these roads were places we trekked from my PPA to town and back when we go to watch champions league matches on Tuesdays and Wednesdays back then.

We would walk down this road without any fear of kidnap as late as 10.45 -11.00 pm and we would be talking loudly on top our voice arguing about the match we just finished watching.

When Buhari became president in 2015 and those fulani militia began carrying AK 47 around with impunity, Miyetti Allah were making excuse and defending their right to carry weapons. Instead of Buhari government cracking down on them, they kept playing with semantics. They even gaslight their victims by asking them to provide the cows belonging to the herdsmen if they are saying they were kidnapped or attacked by fulani herdsmen.

Gradually, the Fulani militia gained ground in the north central and the north west. The North West that was fairly peaceful back then when the northeast was battling Boko harm was eventually inducted into the axis of terror and today almost all parts of the north has had its fair share of these insecurity issue.

If they had nipped that fulani herdsmen issue in the bud back then instead of claiming we were blackmailinv Buhari's tribe, things would not have turned this bad. Let's not forget how Buhari's spokesperson would rather call people names like Wailing wailers instead of facing the security challenges heads on.🤦‍♂️

I know, but over time USA got better in football and they've qualified for a number of world cups. India on the other hand have never featured in any world cup till date. Even Minnow teams in Africa like Togo,Benin, etc have qualified for World cup before a big country like India.

I'm not even sure I've ever watched a clip of the Indian national team playing any competitive match before. Na so dem poor in football reach?

This 2026 world cup again, they didn't even make it to play offs stage sef.

I want to really understand something, how is it that with over 1 billion people in India they have not been able to assemble 11 footballers that can indeed play football for them to qualify for at least one FIFA world cup since all these years?

It's not as if they don't have a professional football league in their country o. Even teams like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, North Korea and other not so good teams in Asia have qualified for the world cup at different times, how come India has never managed to qualify for the world cup?

I don't even understand they just feel the ladies will accept marriage proposal just like that without giving it deep thoughts.

Funny thing is most of the guys who do it actually know they have one or two unresolved issues they are yet to iron out with the lady they are proposing marriage to.

For example now, u can be dating a lady and she has issues with u smoking and u are yet to give up smoking. Then u wake one morning, buy ring , go on bended knees and ask if she will marry u. The lady can say no because she has personal principle that she won't marry a smoker who may die untimely due to lungs issues. No amount of "SAY YES" will make such a lady accept at that point. Shebi if u had asked her in privacy and she says no giving reason for ur smoking habit, its either u decide to give up smoking for her or just move on to someone else who has no issues with ur smoking habit. But guys would rather televise their own rejection.

I doubt any of these things are actionable except someone comes out to make allegations of statutory rape/pedophilia against him (with evidence o).

I think these public wedding proposals is a borrowed culture that will always be strange to me sha.

If you are in a relationship with a woman and she's been leading you on after ticking all the boxes of marriageable qualities you seek in a woman, why not just express your intentions of marrying her directly in privacy? If she says yes, good for you; If she says no then all well and good....You will swallow ur L and move on with dignity.

The whole public display of proposal seems like mounting unnecessary pressure on her. Some women would say yes despite being unsure and then few months in marriage wahala go happen.

Well, I think we've seen enough. We clearly saw VDM threatening to slap and moving towards him to carry out the threat.

All I see is 2 badly behaved adults who would most likely get away with their bad behavior because there are no consequences for actions of so-called celebrities in this country.

If both of them were given to decorum, VDM has shouldn't be threatening to slap Jollof and actually moving towards him before the fight started. Jollof too should've ignored when he saw VDM clearly baiting him to spark off a row on an aircraft while putting other passengers at risk.

There was even a foreign national who was nearly smothered in the melee. It was a really big shame both parties wouldn't conduct themselves in orderly manner.

There's nothing like self-defense in that video. It's not like VDM was attacked unprovoked. He threatened to slap the other guy and followed the threat up with actual movement towards him before the fight began.

The two of them should actually be grounded for number of months for their shameful conduct

Somebody says he will slap Jollof and actually moved towards him before the camera focus was off him and then the fight started. You clearly heard people shouting VDM, VDM,VDM.... while they were exchanging blows

That is not self defence if u ask me. He is a provocateur and he met his match in a fellow aggressor.

Why can't NFF pay match bonuses on time like other countries' football federation do? Even countries poorer than Nigeria don't need players to threaten boycott of matches/training before they treat their players well.
