TrebleChamp: And this is coming from the dude that criticised Endsars protesters who were protesting police brutality, na you get time to dey reason that his Obi should have hit the street on protest takes... As in.... shey u get! ENDSARS protest was a genuine and just course which earned unanimous support of most young people but he was against it. That same person is saying Obi should gather his supporters to hit the streets in protest. He forgets that those who are not Obi's supporters will either request for government to crack down on them or face them physically themselves which will degenerate into something else. It's just like you want to set yourself up against other members of the society who don't fancy your candidate; it won't end well at all. Below is one of his infamous "I told you so" posts days after soldiers shot at unarmed peaceful protesters. He even mocked the dead sef, fast forward to 2023 he's saying Peter Obi should hit the streets with his supporters, throw caution to the wind and put themselves at risk of getting killed by security agencies and supporters of other parties. donjazet: Few days ago here, a few of us called for the end to the protests and we were termed ingrates and fools. I certainly hope you're enjoying the full blown anarchism that is now in effect.
Sometimes, common sense will look like unreasonable dissent to fools. Make una continue to enjoy your "protests", na here we dey.
PS; We are yet to see the "massacre" that took place. No deceased have been found till now or family member of a deceased. Some news organizations are beginning to apologize for sharing fake news.

Bear in mind that NIS always request for a copy of your original birth certificate or sworn declatuon of age before issuing international passport. She must have lied either on the Voters card or International passport. If she was under aged when they got married, it means she and her mother deceived Ned into marriage with a minor.

donjazzet: Sowore hasn't achieved much because he simply didn't weld the clout and influence Obi now has which is why I'm saying both characteristics should be combined.
And this fear about civil unrest is the same as accepting eternal defeat. Those were the two options presented to us. Go out and vociferously defend your votes or cower in silence and accept defeat.
Now the ruling class has boldly accepted the mantra that the people simply don't matter. The institutions have been completely captured.
A sowore with obi's kind of influence would have tapped into the raw anger and passion of his followers as opposed to accepting defeat.
Obi has proven himself a weak and ineffectual leader. He has singlehandedly killed the movement and that's very sad. Sowore will never have Obi's kind of influence because he will always be an SUG president in a 54-year-old man's body. I take it that you have admitted his Machiavellian approach to things has not achieved any polictical gain. Our next-door neighbors recently took to the street to protest Paul Biya's reelection in Cameroun. As at the last time I followed their news at least 48 people were killed as a result of that protest, several protesters were arrested, and Paul Biya is still the president as of this afternoon. Something similar would've happened if Obi had incited his supporters to protest under the guise of "defending their votes" and the world will not end. Something tells me you've not really lost any acquaintance, relative or friend to avoidable death caused by challenging the institutions of the state. That is why you are talking about "tapping into the raw anger and passion of his followers". The corpers and normal people that died in the violence that followed the 2011 elections back then, some of their families are still in pain till date. I really want to hear your suggestions on what he should've done that doesn't have a chance of leading to violence. |

raumdeuter: On the contrary I think Regina is older than 17 when she met Ned. For people in entertainment, they try to make themselves younger for whatever reasons. Even someone like Kizz will be claiming 28yrs for 5yrs
Regina has documents showing she is 1998, 2000 and even 2001
Where I agree with this is that if there was any wrongdoing, it is Rita Daniels the mother who is the main offender I think she may be younger; you know she started off as a teen actor. Anyways whether she's younger or older than what she's claiming , I know when it looks like she might be in touble for forgery she will quickly claim the age that appears on most of her documents (Irrecpective of whether it will contradict her social media age) |

Guestmale: I too support using our mother language, but those that you have mentioned here are almost monolingual if not totally, unlike Nigeria that we have many languages and many of them don't have correct or exact word for objects, situations and conditions in many subjects.
Except if and only we can agree on a one indigenous language and but will other tribes accept. Countries like South Africa have more than one official language. Nigeria can decide to adopt Yoruba, Hause and Igbo plus one or two more widely spoken languages as official languages. Note that we are talking about language of instruction at the primary and secondary school level here and not tertiary level |

donjazzet: The immediate aftermath of the elections made me realize Obi did not have what it took to lead the obidient movement. I don't blame him sha, the movement was forced upon him. Nigerians badly needed an escape from this very wicked and terrible party called APC and they entrusted their hopes on Obi because he was the best option of off all those available in such a short amount of time.. remains so.
But his politicking is Soo damn naive. We needed a healthy dose of Obi and sowore in one person.
The collapse of the movement has shown that he doesn't know what to do with his influence. He's ineffectual. I can see u are still hurt that Obi didn't take to ur hot headed advice of staging protests to "shut down the country" following the outcome of 2023 elections. We've been through this before, most of the hot headed takes you dropped about how Obi should've moved following the elections would've caused serious problem for Obi and young Nigerians who would've followed him in that fruitless journey. Maybe you have forgotten they signed peace accord before the elections and Buhari being the president in 2023 would not have hesitated to deal with Obi if he had tried what you suggested back then. They only need to get counter protesters to make trouble with Obi's "peaceful protesters", cause civil unrest here and there; then give security agencies reason to crack down on them. We all saw how that played out during ENDSARS which you vehemently opposed despite how peaceful it was. As for your last paragraph, can you please tell us what exactly has Sowore achieved with his series of faux protest every market day? Sowore protested for most of Buhari's tenure, did that yield any political capital? What political change has he been able to effect with his Machiavellian approach to issues? I really want to hear from you. |

Fiscus105: How many of such nations use English?
Does China use English to set exam Spain? Russia? Belgium? Germany?
The minister is indirectly talking about Hausa and North, who aren't doing well in exams, because they don't used to speak English to them from infancy.
Before they come out from such policy, they have done, EXTENSIVE RESEARCH AND COMPARISIM. In the south, all of pupils in private schools started learning English from toddler, you yourself know that and that's why, thr is wide gap between south and north in area of education.
YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT EDUCATION, NEITHER ARE YOU EDUCATORS OR RESEARCHER IN EDUCATION.
Again learn how not to attack everything that comes out from govt or even online, just to win unnecessary argument. The minister's approach like most of our government's approach to issues over the years is the lazy way out approach to tackling issues. If your claim that "the minister is targeting north with this policy" is to be believed, then I can tell you boldly that the policy won't really achieve much. Your claim extensive research has been done , but this directive looks nothing like something backed by any extensive research because nothing shows they even understand the problem. Anyways, going forward I hope you learn to address points raised by people in their post rather than projecting nonsense political bias |

WriterX: You’re right that many Indian students start learning in their local languages at the primary level, but that’s only half the story. India’s educational system is bilingual by design, not purely indigenous but the moment students move beyond the basic level, English Language becomes the dominant medium in science, technology, engineering, medicine, and higher education.
Now let me give you some facts at least those don't lie according to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 of India, foundational and basic education can be delivered in the mother tongue only up to Grade 5, I think Grade 8 too, after which English becomes compulsory for secondary and tertiary instruction.
India’s IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology), AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences), and NITs (National Institutes of Technology) — the very institutions producing those world-class engineers and IT professionals — all teach entirely in English, not Hindi, Tamil, or Bengali.
Meanwhile, Nigeria doesn’t yet have standardized academic materials, dictionaries, or scientific terminology in any indigenous language to match that system. If we were to teach subjects like Computer Programming or Quantum Physics in Hausa or Yoruba tomorrow, we’d spend more time inventing vocabulary than teaching the subject. India has spent over 70 years developing linguistic and translation infrastructure; Nigeria hasn’t even started that process at scale. Everything you've written in the bolded part of your post is you making my point for me. The minister claimed teaching our kids in indigenous language at the primary and secondary level is why our graduates can't compete with their peers. That is 100% false because you just confirmed in your post that Indians are taught in their languages + English Language up to a point before English is finally the language of instruction. As of today, we teach majorly in English and partly in indigenous language. The minister saying they should discontinue use of indigenous language completely and use English 100%. I am saying the minister's arguments backing that directive is flawed because evidence abounds of where the system he's cancelling has actually worked and produce results. I hope you get my point now. |

Julius1995: We have over 400 languages in Nigeria alone. How will we create new curriculum or translate existing ones to mother tongues? How long will it take you to translate textbooks, train teachers in the use of the mother tongues to teach physics, chemistry, biology, economics etc. What about internal and external examination? For a country that has one of the worst education system in the world, teaching in native languagee will take not less than 30 years to get us halfway to where we currently are. It is not feasible and it does not make any sense. Think about it. India has over 1000 languages and dialects and they have 22 official languages . It's only mental laziness that has made us stick with English as the only official language 65 years after independence. We can decide to have 3 to 6 official languages like some other African countries do if our policy makers want to. What you don't know is that if they want to really carry out this minister's directive, people may stop going to school in some parts of this country. You need to travel around Nigeria to understand that this directive makes no sense and won't really achieve its intended purpose. |
