Let me explain to u what the law is .

No individual is expected to carry cash around that is in excess of N5m . Let’s say for example u want to buy a car of N6m , u are expected to transfer N6m to the seller and not carry N6m cash to the seller . If u pay the N6m with physical cash , u can be arrested for money laundering .

For corporate organizations , the cap is N10m .

No be today the law don Dey now . I thought everyone knows about this .

And if u do bulk payment via transfer in excess of N10m as a corporate body , the organization that received the money sef is duty bound to file such payment under Anti Money Laundering compliance

I think it's fake news, or an outdated law that hasn't been updated to reflect current economic realities.

I think people are misreading and misinterpreting the money laundering act 2022.

The law is saying people should not accept physical cash in excess of 5million and not that u must not transfer cash in excess of 5 million .
They are two different things .

Right from time it has always been a crime for an individual to pay or receive physical cash in excess of N5m and N10m for corporate entities .

No matter how anybody tries to spin it; the fact is JAMB had a whole year to prepare for an exam that happens once a year and they flunked it .

All those nonsense sentimental talk about “He who has not sinned should cast the first stone “ is why public institutions in Nigeria will never be efficient .

Nigerians just like making excuses and trying to find soft landing for their fave which won’t lead us anywhere . The JAMB issue is a case of the institution being aware of a glitch long before exams were concluded . They fixed the issue but chose to throw the students affected by the issue before it was addressed under the bus . Some of those kids had been ostracized at home because their guardians believe they failed JAMB . One even committed suicide because she couldn’t face her parents and tell them she failed JAMB .

All these while JAMB was aware there was a glitch but didn’t own up to it until there was an outcry . It’s just like committing a mistake at ur workplace like not remitting a government regulator’s fee on time and then keeping silent until the government agency comes calling and fines ur company hundreds of millions .

Now , will ur MD/board of directors rub ur head and tell HR : “He who has not sinned should be first to cast the stone “ or they will sack ur assss and most likely hold on to some of ur benefits ? Will they say because u have been doing ur job diligently all these while , they will keep u while knowing u have caused that much financial liability with ur “‘mistake “ ?

These people don’t really like accountability sha .

Nigeria is not like Europe where there are organic football academies scattered all over the countries where the FA will go to pick the youngest prospects to form a national U-15 team o. In Nigeria they go to pick talents in their early 20’s and band them into a team ni .

Share this with someone who can’t make it to resist today due to factors beyond their control or anybody who feels they were affected by the glitch but not scheduled for resist .

People are speculating that if u are scheduled for resit and u didn't check to reprint slip nor write the resit ; u have automatically failed because the initial results will definitely be nullified once u have been scheduled for resit.

So it is better those students check and confirm they are not to resit before concluding they are free from JAMB's palava

Just check all the posters of the highest jamb scorers flying around on the internet ; all those small boys being celebrated for scoring 370, 371, 372 etc are within that age backet you mentioned. Personally I think Oloyede would not want to swallow his pride to agree this year's JAMB was a total flop. To order resit of the entire exam is Oloyede agreeing JAMB 2025 was a total disaster.

What I'm reading now is that anybody who sat for this year's JAMB are advised to go check their portal and check if they have been scheduled to resit so they can reprint their exam slip. Some people who scored above 200 too are being rescheduled for resit o.

I saw someone saying she scored 264 and another person scored 256; they were both reschedule to resit tomorrow.

If these ones come re-write and score lower nko? 🤷‍♂️

Why are auditors difficult to work with?
I have witness auditors and fin.accountants always at loggerhead because of simple accounting process.
I have come to conclusion these auditors are old skool some of them uses excel and will rather pass journal for adjustments instead of simple reversal, some don't even know how ERP works
What are they teaching them in school then, I am not an accountant but I know for every credit there's a corresponding debit, that simple law open my eyes to account.
I think learning ERP should be introduced to them in school

it happens all the time in projects and you have definitely experienced it before. where you try to avoid the obvious solution because running it will be a pain in the ass and a significant disruption

last month, my system had an issue brought about by windows upate. i tried to fix it, and then the system refused to boot. i spent over 24 hours trying to fix the issue before i surrendered and reinstalled windows. because a reinstall is far more disruptive. we had the same issue ona project. the solution would require that we did extensive and expensive civil works. but after we tried everything else, we had no choice and we had to go with it

JAMB was responsible for deciding the future of 1.9 million teenagers and young adults. This is the future of fellow humans we are talking about, not some "project". JAMB was 100% wrong to have sat down and decided not acknowledging their fault in the compromise of the result of 20% of the candidates. It is unfair and wicked.

There's no justification for that boss. This is an exam which only happens once a year. For u to appreciate the how grave their decision/indecision was; we can refer to the case of the student who unalived herself over the result.

This is Nigeria where anything goes. The students are expected to be "grateful" that Oloyede was magnanimous enough to admit his board's error and they should also be "grateful" he was benevolent enough to allow them to resit.

a friends son scored 162 and i messaged her this morning. somehow she was not aware of everything going on. she hs checked and confirmed that the guy is resitting his jamb tomorrow. please contact anyone you know whose wards may have failed their jamb to do a re check ASAP

So where did the money for this resit now come from? Is it outside their budget?

There's what is called cost-benefits analysis now. Can't u see that if they had expended that cost of resit without this whole controversy, the benefits would've been worth it?

At least everyone would've had trust in JAMB for being that exam body that can right its wrong without being pushed to do so. Now they saved that cost only to expend it and now public trust in JAMB is lost

If Nigeria was abroad sef, u would've seen candidates affected by this incident banding together to sue JAMB. They would sue for damaged for the emotional distress caused them

i think more likely there was a consultation and it was agreed the glitch would not cause significant deviance in the results. and the challenges [cost implications, logistics etc] with running a new exam were presented and this was the path agreed.

i have been there before on projects.

If this did happen and they took this decision, then I'm not sorry to say it was a stupiiiid decision and everyone involved in such decision making process don't deserve to have a job.

The fact that it affected some students , then they discovered the "glitch" and it was patched. That alone should've made them hold on releasing the general results and do the right thing before the whole thing blew in their faces.

I guess he was weeping for himself for the grave mistake he made. He chose releasing results promptly over releasing credible results
