That kind of money is something over 90% of people can only dream about in their lifetime, so it's totally possible. Sure, if he does walk away with it, he is defo poor in spirit, but I've seen folks who are supposedly in way better positions than him do it for much less.

Did the organizers expect the kids to show up by themselves without their parents?

For 5000 kids, they should have expected at least 2500 parents/guardians. .

So could the school venue have accommodated 7500 people adequately?

Legally I am not sure the police have a case. People broke into the venue of their own accord hours before it was to start.
