So it seems this APC's minimum wage increase was a maximum scam, and I don't know if it's a failure of the labor leaders to negotiate properly, or it was the hypocrisy of the party wanting to take glory for increasing wages when in fact it's the opposite.

I was speaking with one Prof today, and he confirmed that he now earns less than he earned before the minimum wage increase. Instead of the government increasing the wages across board by a common percentage or something that was reasonably commensurate, showing they understood why there was call for a wage increase in the first place, they simply slapped 40K on everybody's salary and raised taxes ...so what that means is for junior staffs, they'd gain some, but as you climb up the civil service scale the whole thing reveals itself to be a proper scam.

It's sad that the government has played people like this, because it's not just the people on the lower rung of the ladder suffering from the cost of living crisis, everyone is.

People need pay serious attention to this scam of a government called APC, cause for whatever policy they market as what would make life better, they're finding ways to make things worse through some backdoor policy. It's no surprise things keep getting worse day after day. I pity those staking their reputations to float or defend policies BAT is enacting, I fear it won't end well.

As regards the bolded I don’t the tax was increased rather , the 40k added to the man’s salary obviously made his gross income jump into a higher tax bracket in line with Nigeria’s personal income tax rate . Nigeria’s personal income tax rate are progressive rates so there are chances getting a pay raise can make u pay more taxes.

In fact , I have been a victim before ( or should I say I’m currently a victim sef ) . Omo, the amount I pay as tax even pass some contract staff’s monthly salary and I Dey vex . However , when I see the calculation of the tax in line with the personal income tax rate for my current tax bracket, I just accept my L in peace that what I’m paying is the right amount and I’m not being made to pay more than I should .

That’s why me I will not leave the neck of any useless governor or president wey Dey use my tax dey spend on frivolities .

Martinelli is the major culprit of our LHS being in comatose attack-wise and not Rice like u are trying to imply . You see Rice and Calafiori( the few times he’s played ) combining well to set Martinelli off (just like Odegaard and Timber/White does for Saka on the RHS) ; but Martinelli always messes things up.

This happens regularly almost every match day , but somehow u want to blame Rice who was one of our best players last season and Merino who has barely used 4 months at the club . Haba! 🤦‍♂️

I didn’t even know he was Nigerian initially . Saw the name Chukwudi Iwuji in the cast for the first episode , I paused the video , googled the name and saw his picture . That was how I know he was Nigerian even before hearing his accent .

Even the Osi they called him in the series seem like an abbreviation of an Igbo name . I guess the producers knew his accent couldn’t be hidden so they just portrayed him as a British of Nigerian descent .
