I am telling u general knowledge question because I know some schools set general knowledge questions and mix it with ur normal subject combination .

See , no school will set questions meant for 100 level for u in post UTME . Na wetin we don pass through before , if u read ur normal secondary school and jamb lecture notes u will ace ur post UTME . U don’t need any special coaching except u want all those Egbon already in school to chop ur money .

I have written post UTME of UNILAG and OAU before and I never failed either . And those are top federal institutions .

The above is the JAMB registrar talking about candidates talking about few hundreds of candidates caught to have been involved in exam malpractice , what about those not caught ? ?

I'm only citing an example based on what you said earlier about medicine. I was only showing you that it's still possible to get that score which is not very high these days as competition is really massive.

Or is 27/30 not a good score for post UTME?

The example u set is actually biased na . U skewed the data to make it seem UTME result is the most inportant consideration when the school is considering who to grant admission

you cannot even compare jamb and post ume, you can score high in jamb and post ume will mess you up. Top universities always use the post ume to chase olodos. Imagine writing 50 tough questions for 20minutes

If u score high in jamb and fail post UTME it only proves u didn’t write the JAMB by urself .

Post UTME is WAEC standard questions mixed with general knowledge here and there .

How do u think they set Post UTME questions sef?

There’s a lot of nepotism and “man no man” in government unis when it comes to top courses. And also many schools have adapted what they call post utme screening, they don’t even write exams anymore.

295 these days is not 295 back then, there’s a lot of 300+ scores now, and I forgot to add schools still have preferential treatment for students from their catchment area. So yes I think it’s very possible for someone with 295, a very good waec result to still not get medicine, they probably would shift you to another course but not every one agrees to that so you just sit for another Jamb, happens a lot with younger students

Let’s say Unilag admits 5,000 this year , how many students do u think scored 280 and above ? Are u telling me at least 2,000 of those students admitted scored 280 and above while the other 3,000 are admitted based on catchment areas ?

Unilag mode of admission is UTME/8, POST-UTME =30 marks, O'level=20 marks.
295/8= 36.88, let's assume he scored 27/30 and his O'level is 20 marks.
36+ 20 + 27= 83.88
Unilag cutoff for medicine had been 85 in previous years.

Baba let me tell u one truth I’ve learnt from experience ; UTME is usually harder than POST UTME . If u write UTME by urself with proper preparations u will definitely find POST UTME an anti climax ; it’s usually simpler than u thought .


This hypothetical example would’ve swayed me if the people crying about glitch are all people who wanted to study medicine , law and accounting kinda courses . I saw one on FP saying her brother or sister scored similar high score in 2024 choosing computer science only for him or her to score 162 this year.

The question is how do u score that high for computer science last year and still have to retake JAMB this year ? Are u saying computer science too is so hard to get into with such high scores ? Why is nobody showing us their last year post UTME results to back their academic brilliance story up ?

What if the student only wants MedSug or pharmacy and have others with similar jamb scores and better UTME or WAEC result competing for same course in a school like Unilag.

So a student who scored 295 in UTME will not have an excellent WAEC result and Post UTME Abi?

That is exactly why the 295 JAMB score is questionable . It has been proven over time that anybody can fraud their way through JAMB UTME , hence why schools came up with POST UTME to vet the students they end up giving admission .

I scored very high in jamb and I didn’t even bother reading. Having four options to select from made the exam look like a joke. I scored only A’s in all subjective exams I took in Uni.

Given that most students don’t read but any brilliant student in school can’t score below 160, prepared or not.

That’s because u are smart and have years of study behind u.

An average student needs rigorous study to pass JAMB. An above average student like u who is always prepared doesn’t necessarily need to have sleepless night to pass JAMB.

You can only speak for urself and but for others. You may see people burning candle at night for months and end up failing an exam because their either don’t assimilate what they read or read amsiss. A lot goes on with students .

You can’t just assume because students who passed the exam last year failed this year ; then it is the exam body that is to blamed . The students have a part to play

I am always of the opinion that if students prepare well enough and are lucky the aspects they focused on are tested, then nothing stops them from having fantastic result .

You only know of ur student who did well after rigorous study, u don’t know of the other students who may have cheated . Don’t cross ur heart and claim exam malpractice is now 0% in JAMB . Don’t let the CBT deceive u . Men don run things 🤐

I prepared almost 20 students for this exam, I'm talking out of experience. My best student (Blessing) scored 295.

If she scored 295 then what’s the issue ?

It's obviously a glitch. A student of mine had 153 but took the mock earlier(2 weeks before the main) and had 240. She's is a very brilliant student, even then we thought the score was low for the mock, how much more this one?
She also wrote on the 26th.

But if u see someone who wrote on the 26th and passed well will u drop this agenda ?

There are too many complaints that suggests a glitch. Aside expo, a student who scored very high can’t score very low. Jamb no really hard like that, an average student can score above 200.

You can’t just make such claim without evidence na.

JAMB is not hard and JAMB is also hard.

If JAMB is not hard , we won’t be having over 1.5m out of 1.9m candidates scoring below average .

JAMB will only not be hard if u prepare adequately well and all the topics u focused on are the ones JAMB decided to test students o. i. e . They served in ur hands .

I am not a fan of workmen blaming tools. It’s common for student to blame everything and everyone except themselves for bad performance on an exam.

Once u acknowledge cheating is still possible , then u will agree with my initial position that one can actually cheat last year , fail post UTME , fail to secure admission last year , write this year’s JAMB on his own strength and ends up failing . Only to turn back and blame JAMB for this year’s failure

When I was in the university we had a particular lecturer who would set Accounting questions and give u different types , yet people found ways to see his questions and arrange answers before the exam. I mean u will be seating with 2 different people and all 3 of u will be doing questions that don’t match each other . In the same exam I saw people glancing at the expo they kept under the desk.

You really underestimate the level some students can go to cheat in an exam. Particularly an exam like JAMB that happens once a year

I know a whole lot of things about some of these exams. I’ve seen a mercenary impersonate someone to write a post UTME that requires biometrics . If they tell u these things are possible , u wouldn’t believe until u see it happen .

There’s a reason JAMB cancels centers almost every year for malpractice

No doubt there’s some PR involved but I think his popularity is organic. I watched the inauguration of Ghana’s president, John Mahama, and Traore received the loudest cheers and ovation.

As for Burkina Faso being a glorified dustbin, that’s due to decades of exploitation by France and the West which Traore is now trying to reverse.

I believe it is a case of propaganda jam propaganda. It’s just that Traore and Putin are getting more support/affection/pity from some young people in Africa who are tired of decades the west had a firm grip on the continent with nothing substantial to show for it.

I mean JAMB could literally post results of people who wrote on the same 26th April and we may see hundreds of candidates who also did well. That could knock off that April 26th angle people have been clinging on to .

Anybody can get expo to pass JAMB with high mark and fail post UTME afterwards . Expecting that person to pass JAMB the next year with the same high scores when he didn’t see expo is definitely mission impossible .


PS: I am not saying with certainty the above was what happened , but I am only pointing to u the possibilities of what could’ve happened. I mean after all , at some point some of us thought Mmesoma was the real deal and JAMB wanted to rain on her parade

Canceling the contract still puts the club in a fix because they will be losing their services especially if it's at a crucial time of the season.

I believe it will be fair if there should is a clause in the contract that allows the club to sue them and recover from them certain amount for getting themselves injured by engaging in "hazardous past time"
