afrodoc2:I learnt he is a successful businessman. Baba wants to win one way or the other; a win is a win ![]() |
Theflint1:The man is not even beating the allegations. They said he's not smart, now see him proving them right |
izzou:I trust him to support this and even bring evidence from "saner climes" to justify his position sef ![]() |
izzou:I never said it can't be cheaper. Go and check my initial post to u. All I'm saying is that only subsidy can make it cheaper for real. Who gets that subsidy is what all concerned parties are fighting tooth and nail for |
https://www.nairaland.com/8183444/apc-replies-arise-tv-rufai Theflint1, Oga monday and APC say if una wan see him attend interview, dem make una pay him $1million ![]() |
izzou:This has little or nothing to do about defending dollar or not. I will tell u why the 2022 article is still valid and correct. Dangote like every other business man sources for dollar for the purpose of buying his crude(Majority of which is sourced from abroad since FG/NNPC is unable to provide him crude even if they wish to). In 2024 he as a businessman is sourcing dollar at a higher rate than he would've done in 2022. It is only expected he sells his product to reflect his cost (chief of which is exchange rate determined) and then sell at a profit. Why will he sell cheaper when he has financial obligations that are already due to his lenders? It's just so funny how u actually believe Dangote is doing all of these things for the love of his country and not that he's trying to survive as a businessman who invested in a business that has since undergone several changes in dynamics |
liveLongNprospa:Simple! Hence my initial post that all these brouhaha is about who eventually gets the subsidy. We normal citizens are just pawns in their game |
larride:Skit bawo? Person that dropped his full names and where he worked (NPA) |
izzou:U are missing the point. Dangote could've decided to sell diesel for the normal N1,400/liter that importers sell without subsidy. However, he knows if he does that he will be struggling for market share with those importers. Instead he cuts his price as a new entrant into the market to steal a chunk of their market share. In due time when the price cutting is longer sustainable , he will jack up his price but he would've gained enough market share at their point and maybe some of the importers would've been out of business. As for making petrol price lower, that's a tall dream. NNPC is still a major player still paying subsidy on PMS. For his price cutting strategy to work for PMS, something has to give. Either NNPC/FG kicks subsidy fully out of the door and have a gentleman agreement with Dangote to sell cheap(which will be difficlut now that they don't even have enough crude to give him) or they start paying him the subsidy instead of the importers/marketers. |
Theflint1:I don't know where izzou is suddenly getting this false hope of PMS getting cheaper with Dangote in the picture. We have been repeatedly told by people with more access to real data like Bismack Rewane that Dangote PMS may not necessarily be cheaper The Chief Executive Officer of Financial Derivatives Company Limited (FDC), Mr. Bismarck Rewane, has advised Nigerians not to entertain the illusion that the Dangote Refinery would guarantee them cheaper supply of refined petroleum products. This was far back in 2022 o |
izzou:Lolz ![]() Its not that deep That may just be market penetration strategy on Dangote's part. He may be using lower pricing as a market penetration tool to dive into the diesel market as a new entrant. These things are normal in marketing. It is only when Dangote sustains that lower price of his diesel over a period of time u can be sure he's actually out to disrupt the market for real with is lower pricing. U can decide to cut ur profit margin to gain ground for ur products in an already existing market. Dangote has financial obligations to his lenders, he would lose more selling diesel the same price as importers (even though he wishes to). He wouldn't want to have in stock excess finished products with unwilling buyers na. |
izzou:With local refining and no subsidy , u will still buy for over N900. That is the reality; without NNPC/FG coming up with a form of subsidy for Dangote, u will still buy PMS at the real actual cost. What this whole fight is about is : Who gets the subsidy? Is it Dangote the local refiner or NNPC/Marketers in charge of importation? As for IPMAN, I believe they talk trash for a living. They keep making projections on behalf of Dangote; projections that are not in tandem with reality |
iamoyindamola:As in….. better slave. Later they will say one should always listen to an elder. Imagine saying if u are not Dangote-rich, u can’t afford 3 square meals a day and that’s normal 🤦♂️ |
Baba Rahman: My name is Adisa Taiwo Rahman, I am a retired civil servant from Nigerian Ports Authority and a Politician. This is the man we root for and that is President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Interviewer: Can you feed 3 times in a day ? Baba Rahman: I have been living in this country since I was born in 1961. I have never secured 3 square meals since I was born, And nobody can until you become that rich. If I’m not a Dangote child that you can’t say 3 square meals will be secured. In Islam, we were given this kind of adage language ; cut ur stomach into 3: eat small, drink small and let air breath in ur stomach. 🤮🤮🤮🤮 The angel wey put me and this man for the same country has a lot of explanation to do o. |
raumdeuter:People like to deceive themselves into believing whatever they chose to believe . The same Pep signs at least a defender almost every time the transfer window is open is whom they claim pays more attention to attack ![]() The same pep that will rely on academy graduates to transition into first team for attacking roles but will package substantial millions of pounds to buy quality defenders to add to his ministry of defence . |
Ballzproblemm:Okay, if u remember let me know. Although I barely check any of the posts sef |
iamoyindamola:I've never really been their fan like that, personally I don't really care about the feud between them and their elder brother. I just see them as adults who are tired of making money and decided to kill the goose that lay the golden egg(The Psqaure brand). Let them keep beefing themselves like quarrelsome wives in a polygamous family while young cate on the block continue to make digital money from Apple,Spotify , etc. Maybe they think old money no Dey finish 😡 |
oliverano:Agendaland ![]() |
Ibime:Doctors without borders |
Altern8tor:The same Pep that bought Dias,Laporte, Ake, Mendy, Gvardiol, Cancelo, Laporte, Walker, Danilo, etc ? . Just dey play! Was it not this same thread Pep was trolled that year that he used budget of some African countries to buy defenders only? |
larride:Let's hope the handlers don't maladminister the whole thing. I believe if the rangers are well catered-for, they won't be enticed by whatever the criminals will be offering in counter |
iamoyindamola:I've long abandoned FB for socializing. I only go there to check one or two professional groups I'm a member of to read news and information. I don't even respond to any tags sef, I just overlook them |
raumdeuter:Some people are saying what she tore is not a real passport. I don't know how true that is sha |
Jodera:This new one looks exactly like the Jersey Loserpool wore when we beat them 3-1 last season |
iamoyindamola:I learnt they were trying to farm Mark Zuckerberg's money from Facebook. Ever since Mark has talked about monetizing facebook, all those facebook users no go allow person rest. Na so so @everyone, @followers, etc dem dey use tagging kee person. |
Jodera:In order of preference I will pick the black Away Jersey as number 1, the home jersey number 2 and this third one as the least prefrred. |
raumdeuter:They are both skit makers who are just whining the whole internet |
raumdeuter:The ought to be; that way they will know the terrain and come up with best ways to tackle the farmer/herders crisis. I believe the forest rangers will help security forces in trailing criminals in those forests. It may even be a way of reducing kidnappings sef cos with the rangers combing the forests, they will surely jam kidnappers in their hideouts in the forests |
Ballzproblemm:Let use an illustration for u. Commercial banks like Access, UBA, Firstbank, etc that house millions of naira are guarded by few security guards and maybe a handful of police officers. This does not mean that we still don't have incidents of bank robberies once in a while. Everyone knows those guards and policemen are not a match for a well-motivated robbery gang with sophisticated weapon, yet the banks still use them as stop gap to prevent frequent robberies. When robbers come, those security gaurds will call for more back-up from policemen or soldiers. That is similar to what the forest rangers will do. Nobody has said Fulani herdsmen/bandits activities will be zero going forward, but the forest ranger thing is a right step in the right direction. It is just the same way Amotekun gaurds reduced the operations of herdsmen in parts of the south west |
raumdeuter:As in..... I just tire for the unnecesary pessimism. I am curious to know what Ballzproblemm's suggestion would be in tackling the issue. |
Ballzproblemm:What exactly do u want? We've been complaining that Bandits and Fulani herdsmen have made people abandoned farming thereby leading to food insecurity. This Forest Rangers strategy is a step in the right direction to address that issue. Like GloriousGbola opined, the rangers may be deployed to act as civilian JTF to work side-by-side with Nigerian military troops as informants to neutralize bandits. Are u saying the FG should not address the issue or what exactly ? |
