I’m actually impressed with maresca today, he played what I wanted but a bit conservative, it would be an unwise for us to invert either full backs today, with crazy players like Doku and savio coming up against us, so the trio of Lavia enzo conceido make sense with lavia dropping to do what cucurella would have done , in the first half we did tho didn’t create much chances but we shut the potential threat of savio and doku and also cut down the supply to Haaland by controlling the midfield perfectly but the individual brilliance of haaland saved the day Ngl.
Second half was a bit different the tactic indeed worked to keep the man city threat mitigated but the truth is we’ve not been creative, I was expecting him to sub either conceido or Enzo out of the game with Palmer in the midfield and madueke in the wing at least his take ons will create more space for us to do something would give us an edge of gvardiol but maresca had other ideas and we paid for it dearly with a long range shot from kovavic. Conceido was not in form today ngl tho he shows spark of brilliance but average at best both enzo and conceido were off physically today thus we saw the way kovasic overpower them in his build-up to the game there are tons of positive to pick from the game tho like defense has kinda improve and little or less pressure from them in the build up thanks to lavia. The team is showing potential let’s hope things get better up Chelsea
