I'm sure he must have dropped his own thesis. Oma Akatugba; he used to work with Godwin when they had a daily sport show on LTV back then. I think Oma is now based In Germany, married to a German. Oma normally dey famz all those Europe based naija players; he usually travels across Europe to interview them and post their videos on his social media for views. I won't be surprised if he's on the list of Osimehn's beneficiaries too |

They both attended the same secondary school and started their love from a young age. She said he has always had hot temper and that's one of the reasons they eventually broke up. When asked if she doesn't regret their relationship ended seeing that he's now a well known star ; she said she doesn't. She believes she dodged a bullet because of his temperament which would've made her unhappy in their marriage. |

GloriousGbola: this dependency on LLMs all around will be the death of humanity in general and nigerians in particular. with the budget available to the team - they should be using photoshop to tweak any photos, not handing them over to an LLM.l it also smacks of the lowest forms of mental laziness across board - whatever the photo was , it was uploaded without the most basic checks. for there to be a grok watermark indicated whoever did this was using a free version.
also, personally i am irritated when ever i see people confidently posting i asked grok - especially for Nigerian matters which do not have that much online documentation to begin with
this is on the social media handlers It's obviously a blatant lie that they used Grok to edit a low quality picture. We all know nobody would use low quality camera to take the president's pictures. Even Buhari that wasn't as flamboyant as Tinubu and doesn't have much digital handlers like Tinubu, we saw how sharp his pictures always come out. Only people who enjoy being lied to will believe this cock and bull story by Bayo Onanuga. |

This is bad. It's better to ignore at best. They are even indicting themselves with this nonsense explanation. The office of the Media & Publicity under the presidency has over a billion naira budgeted for buying media equipment in the running budget o. Yet they are claiming the picture was taken with low quality camera. Indeed they have no iota of shame and they know their lackeys will defend this nonsense explanation with their last drop of blood. |

The president of Nigeria is having his picture taken with a phone of poor camera quality like WTF kinda explanation is this?
The worst of us are in power truly.. Are u surprised? Is it not the same Tinubu that stole Donald Duke's childhood photograph and claimed it as his? I'm not surprised if I hear say Tinubu and his co-travellers forged a document or photograph. No be today dem start. People have already queried grok via prompt and the AI confirmed the picture was entirely generated with AI and not the clock and bull story of using grok to edit an original low quality picture shoch Bayo is selling to gullible people.

Even if you suffer work-related accident in the manufacturing and service sectors, nobody will allow u to continue drawing salaries for years while u are unable to perform ur work tasks. You will only be given grace for certain time period before you are relived of ur duties and a replacement is employed in ur place. |

Ellexy: But the US military is the strongest the world has ever known. They did this without informing any of their allies maybe except Israel. Maduro was living in a fortified military base, yet it didn't deter them. They went in, got him and his wife without any casualty and left. Respect. There will definitely be casualties; maybe not fatalities but they would have military men who caught bullets. |

GloriousGbola: And the CIA has extensive experience in coups in Latin America
Then again, they have also learnt that coups and counter coups can go sideways (see iran) The bold is exactly my point; they would've considered the coup option and decided against it . Most likely because they don't see it being as effective they would expect it to. |

Sportsweb: Lavia is made for life. If he signed a good salary of 120-150k per week, he is good. 7 years balling without working. The HR policies in the sports world is one of the most favorable to employees sha. Most companies in the services and production sector don't allow that level of good grace when an employee is sick o. For example where I work if an employee is sick and unable to work, he will get full salary for the first 6 months he is bedridden and absent from work due to illness. After 6 months he will get half salary for the next 6 months. If he is still unwell after the second 6 months, the management will take decision of relieving him of his employment and process his terminal benefits. But in Football and most sports where u are under contract, u can stay as much as 2-3 years while your contract still runs without even kicking a ball due to injuries and relapsing during recovery. |

Ellexy: No matter what, the US won't allow the country within it's hemisphere with the largest oil deposit to fall in the hands of it's enemies like Russia, China and Iran. It's beyond the oil but the oil is also a vital part of it all. Infact Chinese officials where on ground the night the Op was carried out just to send a message to China. Yeah, that's a major factor definitely. |

GloriousGbola: actually ties into trumps not thinking things through
an unpopular president, disaffected citizens - you quietly back a coup. everyone knows whats up but you have deniability You seem to think coups are that easy to stage and carry out successfully especially in a hostile country like Venezuela. Most likely the president has the military in his pocket who are willing to crush any attempted coup. I want to believe the Americans must have contemplated the idea of sponsoring a coup but concluded it won't work as you assume it should. |

GloriousGbola: the drug thing is just noise imho
the same trump has pardoned a former president actually convicted of drug traffiking
https://www.cnbc.com/2026/01/04/trump-venezuela-maduro-pardon-honduras.html
this is also from the article:
Charging a president fro possession of machine guns?
more to the point, if the presidency of venezuela is directly involved in trafficking drugs, they would use all organs of the govt to facilitate this - diplomatic bag - presidential jet , the military - not unknown and un escorted fishing boats Well, I guess that's how geopolitics works. They must find something to say when taking a drastic action like this one. I watched a video Rubio talking Venezuela being in the western Hemisphere and that they (America) will not open their eyes while Venezuela gives an opening for China, Russia and their other adversaries to set up camp in their backyard. More like they know the moment Venezuela warms up to those aforementioned superpowers through oil deals, America will be under threat from their presence in Venezuela. So maybe that is also another reason for the whole arrest and capture of Maduro. I don't think the whole thing is as a result of one single reason. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 9:26am On Jan 05 |
afrodoc2: Lots of facts but context and interpretation are key.
Venezuela’s economic history mirrored that of Nigeria and Trinidad. Oil boom in 1970s due to the Arab oil embargo followed by economic difficulties in the 80s and 90s when the Arabs came back on the scene with increased oil production and exportation.
Chavez also definitely purged and politicised their national oil company which worsened the corruption and exacerbated the already existing financial hardship PRIOR to the US oil embargoes.
Much of the government and military are also in the drugs game. The drugs game gives many people easy access to juicy amounts of money that does not have to be accounted for in anyway and that does not need much infrastructure or management acumen. This is because they are just middlemen with production in Colombia and destination in America. This is easier money than the difficult task of trying extract and refine crude whose proceeds go to the government anyway (at least on paper). It is also true that their oil is difficult to extract and requires specialised refineries.
His conclusion though is where I am not in tune with him. I still think oil is a major factor. If Venezuela had no oil at all I don’t think Maduro would have been extracted. Yeah, I also think he didn't end his theory well. It is definitely about how and I think the US' interest in all of this is to have those specialized refineries that refine Venezuela's heavy crude to go back into business and at the same time reduce the influx of drugs into US. More like they want to use one stone to kill multiple birds. They probably believe if the oil is turned back on and Venezuela's new government starts sending their crude to the American refineries , things will go back to normal. That is; the Venezuelan government will be making cool cash from selling their crude to America, the American oil companies that own the refineries will be smilling to the bank and there won't be need for the Venezuelean government to be funneling drugs into the US on a large scale to earn money. |

Sportsweb: All Hail Romeo Lavia
90 games missed.
Total of 500 days worth of football missed Is there no way football clubs can actually protect themselves against this sort of thing? I mean a club signs a very good player with the intention that such player will actively participate in their campaign that season to help them win as many games as possible while the player is on multi million pounds contract per year. Somehow the player gets injured over and over again leaving the club with no option other than to keep paying his humongous wages while he recuperates from reoccurring injuries. Is there no way the club can cut their loses without having to wait for the player to run down his contract or having to part ways and pay him severance package? Just looking at the number of games he's missed in 2 years alone.....I don't even know how I will feel if I am a club owner or administrator. |
