Ibeme: Nothing controversial at all. I don't know why David Hundeyin crowd are crying all over Twitter. In my opinion, it actually has nothing to do with what David Hundeyin thinks or not. Ideally irrespective of who made the request or how urgent the request is, the GCFR cannot order Nigerian military for combat duty outside the country without getting the approval of the senate. The question is: Did the senate sit to delibrate on this deplaoyment of our armed forces to Benin? Was it this afternoon? |

afrodoc2: The government of Benin requested for help nah. The Nigerian forces were sent at their government's request to save them from unconstitutional change of government. Nothing controversial about this. Did this accession to Benin's request follow the due process of obtaining approval of the senate as provided in section 5 of the Nigerian constitution? And how sure are we the legitimate government had not been toppled when the request was made? |

So far it was requested by the legitimate Government of Benin, it is above board Okay, let's see where that leads us in the long run. |

Gabzy1: Bros I hear you, I’m not denying the progress at all. 91 goals in 23/24 is impressive, 88 the season before that is also impressive too.
Nobody is saying we’re still the same team that was getting battered 4-0 by Liverpool or rolled over by City every time. That’s facts, the team has improved compared to Emery/Wenger days.
But let’s not act like the attack is suddenly peak City or Klopp Liverpool either, that’s all I’m saying.
Yes, 23/24 season we scored 91 but we only created the 5th-most big chances from open play behind Mancity, Liverpool, Chelsea and Aston Villa. We converted our chances more and absolutely destroyed teams from set pieces. We scored 22 non-penalty set-piece goals, that's ridiculous numbers.
Last season we suffered a drop in our goal scoring form with 69 goals. We were 7th for big chances created. That’s exactly why everyone was screaming for a proper No.9 and we went and got Gyokeres.
This new 25/26 season, we are already sitting 9th in big chances created after 15 games with only 30 big chances created despite banging in 28 goals so far. We’re still scoring because, Saka, Eze, Gyokeres, Trossard have been very clinical in front of goal, not because we’re constantly ripping teams apart.
Martinelli has been quiet for about 18 months or there about now if we’re honest.
Trossard is a good finisher, but he’s not that guy who’s going to consistently unlock a low block on his own.
Odegaard is still great at dropping deep, recycling possession and playing the safe sideways pass, but he’s lost a lot of that final-third magic since his injuries last year. Key passes are way down, big chances created are basically zero.
Eze looks class on the ball no doubt, but too often goes missing in big moments, almost like he’s hiding from the responsibility of grabbing the game by the scruff of the neck.
How many times this season have we seen gyokeres making a run in behind and literally no one even looks for the pass? Ball goes sideways, we keep on passing the ball around on the edge of the box, then a cut-back that gets blocked.
I’m telling you, drop prime Haaland in this team tomorrow and he’d still spend half his time waving his arms in the air because the service from wide areas and midfield just isn’t consistent enough. We hardly play proper balls in behind or killer through balls anymore.
I appreciate what Trossard, Martinelli, Odegaard bring to the team. They lead the press well, run their socks off, and track back brilliantly.
But we need another elite creative midfielder or a proper progressive left-sided attacker who can properly feed the striker and break down stubborn defences on a weekly basis.
No squad is perfect, there’s always one or two areas you can upgrade, and for me the No.10 or left wing is still the obvious one.
That's why I am hoping Saliba and big Gabi comes back on time so that we can continue to dominate in the set piece area to complement our goals scored from open play.
Hopefully we win the league. Baba all of these things u are saying is because we have had some real unpleasant results in ghe past 2 weeks. I'm sure few weeks ago while we were getting favorable results one match after another, nobody was talking about us needing a creative midfielder or left sided attacker. We fans need to be realistic and not always looking for who to blame and scapegoat when we have a rough patch in our title challenge. Even rival fans acknowledge our fully fit team is solid and actually one of the few teams that has what it takes to win the league come may. The rough patch we've experienced in the past few weeks has been due to injuries to our key players, not because our coach has suddenly gone clueless or the team is lacking enough motivation. I believe with most of our players coming back from injury the morale of the team will be boosted and we can go back to winning ways. I believe when we win games, our fellow title challengers will always have their own tough games and we should be ready to seize those chances to increase the gap between us by winning our own matches. I think we fans should stay positive and not get distracted by all sorts of negativity rival fans are projecting about our team's title challenge. Cheers bro. 🤗 |

DissTroy: ECOWAS deploys troops to Benin Republic.
https://www.nairaland.com/8576741/ecowas-orders-immediate-deployment-troops
Good. That's what we should have done as allied/regional forces - not Nigeria going to bomb. Or we could have just bombed as first on the scene then claim it was ECOMOG.
The U.S. does same claiming NATO forces as a buffer. Exactly! It is understandable if Nigeria joins ECOWAS to deploy troops to Benin as part it's commitment to the regional body and maintaining peace in West African member states. Nigeria unilaterally dropping bombs in a sovereign nation because we don't want their democratically elected government to fall is not the flex those people goading Nigerian federal government think it is. The fact that countries like Ghana and Togo are not getting involved in Benin's internal conflict should tell anyone that Nigeria may actually be overstepping it's boundary and may be on the receiving end of such trespass from another country that is militarily superior to us in the future |

Are u confusing me with someone else? My post u quoted simply says I hope Nigeria didn't bomb Benin as it is being rumored online. LordAdam16: action and reaction are equal and opposite forces
in the US, a democrat senator is asking the military to disobey illegal orders africa, particularly sub-Saharan africa, cannot be stuck in this eternal tailspin without any punctuation it is impossible
if communism starts failing in china, there will be an uprising, coup, whatever you call it russia, the west, anywhere on planet earth if a system of governance is failing, people will seek an alternative and opportunists will leverage the dissatisfaction
we've done eight years of buhari we do eight years of tinubu then we do eight years of shettima and then another eight years of a southern disaster
someday there will be a coup and everyone will be scratching their heads trying to figure out the reason when it is blatant if you put french people in any sub-Saharan african country, there would be uprisings every month africa's case is just so hopeless that no system will work here not democracy. not communism. not monarchy. not military rule revolving door of bullsh*t
now to prevent a coup, tinubu will have to be come down hard on politicos and PEPs which will create a negative feedback loop that ironically increase the odds of a coup

As of this morning there were people on the streets showing solidarity with the coupists. I hope African politicians would do things right or else they would always see the common man support coupists because of their own corruption and bad governance which will always push people into the hands of coupists. |

Nigeria has so many internal security issues and division within the country.
