Stop proving smart. I know there are multiple tithes but we are talking about the one that your pastors collect using the curse in Malachi. The Levites would be at the gates to collect tithes. Before the priests, the Levites would tithe a tenth of tithes (the tithe of tithes) which would be put in the storehouse of the temple for the benefits of the temple workers. Show me how you tithe today and stop trying to be smart. I am not a kid in Bible studies.

As at the time Jesus made the statement, he had not fulfilled the Law. When he died on the Cross, the bondage of the law finished in our lives. His blood liberated us from the bondage and curse of the Law.

And supposing you want to continue tithing according to the Law, then you need to give your tithes only to the Levites. Even Moses did not collect tithes because he was not a Levite. Mention one prophet in the Bible that collected tithes? Aside the Levites, mention one prophet, king or apostle that collected tithes in the Bible? Just one?

God does not want you to be measured by how much you can compete with people of the world in material gains. God wants us to spread the Good News, not to be envied for having private jets or the largest church building.

That was the exact reason Jesus let Mary. Judas would have stolen the money if the perfume was sold.

Yes, you will keep living for Christ. But you are not the Church. You are just a part. I am also a part of the Church. However, my calling is not to remain unperturbed in the midst of atrocities and perversions of the Word. My calling is to expose false teachers. Wolves have infiltrated the body of Christ and billions are being led astray and yet you still think the Church is winning?

Now, don't get me wrong. I wish that the Church would grow stronger but how many Christians even know the Bible well enough to counter a false teacher? Remember the Bible says the false teachers would perform miracles and lead many astray. How would they be able to lead many astray? Because many do not understand the Word which is a sword. If the false teachers who are children of Satan would lead many astray (a prophesy which has been fulfilled and is still being fulfilled), how can you then say that the Devil is losing? Instead of us pretending using faith to believe that the Devil is losing, why can't we be realistic enough that the Devil is winning and we need to turn back to the Word of God and the counsel of the Holy Spirit?

Calm down and listen to me. Stop glorifying a man like you. Other people contributed to those bags and you want to give all the credits to your pastor. If he is so generous, why didn't he ask that the jet be sold and the money given to the poor.

Would Jesus or any of the Apostles or Early Church leaders have accepted such an expensive gift when billions are suffering all over the world? You want us to see the good works of your pastor as if only his money went into it. I am even sure that he didn't even contribute one kobo to the purchase of those bags.

That is the problem with Churches who have human beings as the central figure. Everything the Church does is credited to the figure instead of to God.

Any Church where a man is the central figure and the identity of the Church is not of God. Jesus has been uprooted from that Church.

Any pastor who preaches tithing under the Law of Moses is a thief, a parasite, a wolf, a viper.

Now, before you credit your pastor for that generosity, can you tell me what he does for a living?

Having gone through the thread where E warriors blasted pastor David Ibiyeomie's church members for buying him a private jet, I decided to shut them up with this thread.
In this generation, it's easy for anyone to just say what they want without knowing the truth first.
I was a church critic, even worst than daddy freeze, until God took me to this church one day and my life turned....
I am not here to prove anything to anyone but to let them understand the wonderful work this man does that bloggers will never carry neither nairaland mods pay attention to it since its not a post criticizing a certain man of God...

These are not his good works. Or, is the money his? He is a con man if he preaches tithing under the Law. He is a thief if he has enriched himself by merely preaching the Word.

Yes, delusion of an average Christian. Look around you and you would see that the Devil is winning. Listen to the doctrines and practices gaining grounds among billions of Christians, from the Catholics who bow down to images to the pentecostalists who worship money and pastors to the pastors who have abandoned the gospel for material gains and tell me if the Church is winning.

If you feel the number of those who call themselves Christians and the mighty cathedrals is what it means to be victory over the Devil, then "your confidence is slightly deluded" (Cowell, n.d.).

For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. (2 Timothy 4:3-4)
