When Jonathan was the president and this herdsment sacked a village in plateau , he ordered the army to remove them from the village. The army announced to the villagers to find their way out of the place and thereafter, invaded and wiped them out off people's ancestoral homes
This government on the other hand says the people should give land to the criminals to stay alive . When did this happen? And did it solve the problem? |

They left the message and attacked Akpabio.
How can people not see that Akpabio was talking about the hypocrisy of these so-called men of God.
I have told people that Christians are the most divisive and intolerant people in Nigeria.
The country has never been this divided along religious line. It all started toward 2015 when PDP began their islamization propaganda against APC, using CAN as an attack dog.
Today, you are a herdsman and an Islamic terrorist for supporting APC, while you are a Christian for supporting PDP. How dumb can people get?
Did herdsmen killing and terrorism not predate APC? |

gidgiddy: I don't know why people like to argue from a point of ignorance. All of the above has nothing to do with the main issue. The main issue is that Ojukwu and Gowon signed a 12 point agreement in Ghana, generally referred to as the Aburi accord. One of the points of the Aburi accord was that Gowon would not change the structural arrangement of Nigeria unless all the 4 Regional Military Governors of the time approved it. On 27th May 1967, Gowon announced the abolishment of the 4 Regions and the creation of 12 states without the approval of any of the 4 Military Governors, in clear violation of the Aburi accord. So what is this arguement that Gowon did not break the Aburi accord? With the violation of Aburi accord, Ojukwu then declared the independence of the Eastern Region on the 30th of May.
Of course, everybody knew that the reason Gowon abolished the 4 Regions was to implement the North's "divide and rule" strategy which they still use to control Nigeria to this day. Ojukwu was not prepared to accept that. I have provided a link to one of many sources revealing that the Aburi Accord broke down due to misinterpretations on both sides of the conflict. You have not provided one single source. Even scholarly materials provide citations to strengthen their arguments. I called your talk beer parlor gossip for that very reason. |

Orkers coup took over 150 lives
Dimkas coup claimed over a hundred lives
The so called "Igbo coup" had the less casualty with 15 lives Bro, you are referring to the aftermath of the coup and not the coup itself. |
Politics › Re: Eastern Nigeria And The Hypocrisy Of Restructuring. by BluntBoy(m): 11:01am On Mar 28, 2019 |
gidgiddy: Gowon broke the most important point of the Aburi agreement.
One of the 12 points agreed in Aburi was that Gowon would not change the structural arrangement of Nigeria unless all 4 military Governors of the time agreed with him. On the 27th of May 1967, Gowon did just that. He announced that the 4 Regions would be abolished and replaced with 12 states, without consulting anybody nor seeking the approval of the 4 Military Governors, as agreed in Aburi. Ojukwu declared Biafra 3 days later on the 30th of May Beer parlor gossip!!! A misinterpretation of the Aburi Accord (which was inconclusive by itself) caused the Accord to fail. Ojukwu set the ball rolling with a Press conference in Enugu the day after he returned from Ghana. ‘It was unanimously agreed … that the Regions should move slightly farther apart than before,’ http://www.citypeopleonline.com/gowons-meeting-ojukwu-failed-stop-civil-war-details-aburi-accord-ghana/That was how Ojukwu interpreted the decision of political structure. But was that the conclusion Aburi reached? It is in record that Ojukwu made the first press conference of the two, and Gowon did not agree with Ojukwu's interpretation of the agreement. The Accord did not break down because someone breached it; differing interpretation to a rather inconclusive decision caused the Aburi Accord to break down. Ojukwu interpreted the section of the Accord to suit his ambition. It is on record that he came to the meeting with so much arrogance and expectations and every attempt at a joke by Gowon was rudely rebuffed. Obviously, Ojukwu was looking beyond the Accord even though Gowon agreed to all his conditions, including moving Igbo soldiers from Northern barracks. It is safe to say that Ojukwu was condescending because he felt he could beat Gowon and Nigeria in a war, even though it turned out he had no weapons with which to prosecute a war. Stop blaming Gowon for the break down of the Accord. What would you have done if you were Gowon? You just came back from a meeting and the next day, Ojukwu has called a press conference and began to speak of something that appears like secession. |

It depends on what you mean by just cause Most of the time, it depends on how the law interprets it. For instance, a rape victim may think she has a just cause for killing her rapist, but it doesn't mean the law would agree and not sentence her for murder. |

gidgiddy: Go and read up on Nigerian history. The declaration had nothing to do with the coup, it had everything to do with Gowons refusal to honour the Aburi agreement he signed in Ghana
If those came after Ironsi did worse than he did then Ironsi should be praised for being the best of a bad bunch
Compare Ironsi to Gowon:
Ironsi kept the 4 Regions he inherited, Gowon came in and abolished the 4 Regions and created 12 states. Other Military leaders continued Gowons "state creation" and we have 36 states today.
Ironsi maintained resource control/and fiscal responsibility for the 4 Regions. Each Region kept 50% of what they produced, Gowon came in and scrapped resource control and changed the revenue sharing formular. Today, states are begging for 13% when it was 50% under Ironsi
What is funny about the whole thing is that the Northerners said one of the biggest reasons for removing Ironsi was the unification decree, they came in and enacted decrees that were far worse than Ironsi's unification decree. The Northerners and their Yoruba cohorts have done far worse than Igbos or Ironsi ever did and have lost the moral right to criticise Igbos It is you who needs to check history books and not the guy you quoted. Gowon honored the Aburi Accord to the letter. A misunderstanding concerning political systems caused the disagreement that led to the war. Ojukwu's broadcast of his sheer misunderstanding concerning the political system proposed caused the Aburi Accord to be discarded. You can't exonerate Ojukwu while demonizing Gowon. Tell me one aspect of the Accord that Gowon refused to follow? |

Enjoying freedom to preach religious extremism. Many of you think that freedom is limitless. You do not understand that we also have the law which ensures to check our freedom and establish limits. Yes, there is freedom, but this freedom is still decided by the law, which means you can't really do what you like. The counter coup only eliminated Ironsi and Fajuyi. The progrom that followed made it seem to be the bloodiest coup in Nigerian history, but the fact remains that the January 1966 coup remains the bloodiest. In that coup, the prime minister, the finance minister, two premiers (out of 3) were eliminated, among other high and low ranking officers, all in one day. Which other coup in Nigerian history beats that? |

The Northerners and Yorubas messed up Nigeria, they have held executive power for much of the last 50 years. Where is Nigeria today?

One useless church here won’t let me sleep abi na Nigerians kill Jesus Exactly. Christianity needs to be sanitized in Nigeria. Especially, when it comes to proliferation and noise pollution and fraud and sexual crimes committed in the name of pastor. If states don't emulate El Rufai, we will soon lose even our academic structures in the name of building churches. You will see one complex housing 8-10 churches. gidgiddy: They said that Igbos were greedy and conducted a coup. To this day, they keep talking about it. But here are some interesting facts:
1) When Igbos declared their own country and went their way, it was the same Nigeria that decreed war and came to fight for 3 years to bring Igbos back into "one Nigeria"
2)They said that Ironsi took away powers from the Regions and introduced unitary rule. But those who came after Ironsi did far much worse. They not only took even more powers than Ironsi did, they went a step further to abolish the 4 regions and create states, thereby making Nigeria far more unitary than Ironsi
3)They said that Igbos conducted a coup and killed people from other Regions. What they never say is that others coups that followed were far more bloody.
Yorubas and their Nothern cohorts have been running Nigeria for over 50 years and messed Nigeria up. They did far worse than Igbos ever did but they will be the ones that keep calling out Igbos. Only the counter coup of July 1966 is arguably bloodier than the January 1966 coup. Please, read your history books before attempting to talk about history. I used arguably because the counter coup killings got mixed up with the ethnic cleansing that it generated. You said Northerners and Yorubas messed up Nigeria? How did Nigeria fare when the petroleum sector and the economy were in the hands of two Igbo women? An Igbo man was Vice President from 1979 to 1983 but that administration has been regarded as excruciatingly corrupt, second only to the GEJ administration. What about the likes of Wagbara, Okadigbo, etcetera. |
