GYBABA: The question should be,"What should be, not would be". I can see some people are confused & didn't read your post. Using "Would" only means someone somewhere probably in the government is contemplating it but nah.
Anyway by your suggestion, government can implement it. Nigeria has money but private organizations and individual employers would definitely not want to. It will wreck some and for others, they won't want their profit net reduced. Some will prefer to accumulate wealth to themselves rather than evenly distribute it.
Now imagine paying at the rate of #1500 per hour for one month as minimum wage, #240,000 for smallest worker. I don't think Nigeria's economy can handle that for now. It's not stable enough & if it's somehow possible in my lifetime, it's probably because inflation has ravaged Nigeria's economy as much as Zimbabwe.
However, #500 to #700 is feasible for both federal & private maybe #1000, but #2000 haaaa economy no good ooo. He go hard I love your response.. |

thesicilian: A basic civil service pay of N500 per hour is reasonable and should be affordable for all states and federal government. That translates to N4,000 per day and N80,000 per month.
Anything above that is unreasonable and will likely not be taken seriously Nice One.. |

Employers will badly capitalize on it. How exactly would the employers capitalize on that?? And again,, the capitalist employers would be paying like how much..?? |

jumper524: you go fit pay labourers 1,500 hourly if them dey build your house? Nope. 500 per hour is fair enough in places like abuja. That's 4k a day. Overtime charges could differ.
I know you're realistic but be more realistic. I love this last line of yours.. At least,, Let Nigerians look in the direction of “hourly-pay” for once, and even consider it.. Even if they first see it from the IDEAL point of view.. No Wahalla... And then,, much much later,, we can look at it deeply from the realistic point of view. |

Raskimonojendor: Lots of people make fun of the flooding of Lagos especially on Nairaland. The flooding is one of the major reason the government of Lagos is demolishing houses built on canals and some wetlands. These are peculiar natural reoccurrences, which when not handled properly, cause lots of damages. So, what's the joke supposed to be about? That the natural phenomena are occuring? Or that they were not properly handled? |

Something about this ecological funds.. Desertification and desert-encroachment in the north had caused lots of states in the north to receive massive ecological funds.. But then,, the funds all got embezzled in the end. Nothing had been done, and the desert continues to encroach.. More money being pumped there still. |

. . So,, what should Anambra People do??
These nincompoops should go and fix their neighborhoods by themselves. Else their houses will start falling into gullies.
If Anambra people had mastered the methods of preventing erosions by themselves even before the intervention of the government, then a lot of other ravaged communities should borrow a leaf from them. |

.. An environmental law against herds of cows walking on the main-roads/highways, or walking in residential areas, or walking within the farming areas -- would soon be passed in all the states in the south..
And the penalty would be instant impounding and slaughtering and burning of all the herds of cattle that are seen at such places..
No mercy. No sharing..
All of them should be Burnt 🔥 as burnt-offerings for the sake of sanity.

BigIyanga: It’s marketplace that determines how much talent and skills are worth… not how much an employee thinks they are worth. Most Naija office workers and informal workers would run if you measure their productivity on hourly basis. Like cashiers/salespeople at shops,malls/shoprite/filling stations etc standing up for 8-10hrs a day with 30mins break in between. Dont use ur phone while at work. Most go quit lol. Hehehhehahahahaaaaahaaa.. Ok. So, let's put this into figures. Like the cashiers/salespeople.. Considering the type of physically stressful work they do, and the resultant productivity that goes with it........ What do you think should be their HOURLY Pay Rate?? |

Dikastan: Look at what a president of a country is saying. So if Sheyi died in that bombing, you will say that it is the will of God.? So this is the way you want to protect the lives of Nigerians. Worst things will come upon you guys one after the other. That was how Buhari said that only God can save Nigeria,, so we need to pray nonstop for Nigeria. So, why didn't he resign? Supremos: Is everything that happens in this world the will of God? Jesus answered that Question when he told the story of those people that were accidentally killed when the tower of siloam fall on them and crushed them to death. (Luke-13:4-5) Jesus recognized that accidents happen, and it is not because the people involved are sinners. But even at that, worse tragedy awaits sinners who dwell in their evil-doings and refuse to repent. |

This is the type of thing I hate.
You cheated.. And you knew you cheated. But since it had already happened,, you now say that it is ordained by God, else it wouldn't have happened. So, everybody should just stop talking about it.
Now again,, there was an error bombing, and many people died. This is something which anybody who should talk about it should be very sensitive, else he may end up being misunderstood.. By now there should be lots of investigations going on.. And there he goes again.!! That God ordained the error, else it wouldn't have happened.
You guys are making God what he is Not. And this means that you're mocking God. |
