Tk4radi.. Come and see your comment at work.. They don dey apply your brain small small..
tk4radi: But then... In my own little contribution to this....
This cannot work effectively IF THE NIGERIAN POLICE DOESN'T HAVE A UNIFIED DATABASE SYSTEM which serves for the whole of the Police Operations in the country.
I think the Nigerian Police should have a unified database across the whole nation.
So that someone cannot come to one station and report someone, and then, the same person that was reported against (in the first station) would carry the same matter to another station with a slightly distorted narrative, and yet, the second station wouldn't be aware that such a case was already pending in another station.
The Nigerian Police should streamline all their database and data-management systems, and make it unified, and then, allow it to be updated in real-time.
Then again:...... The Nigerian Police should also have access to the NIMC’s NIN-Numbers database, and BVN, and INEC’s VIN-Numbers database, so that people's identities can be verified properly and also cross-verified when necessary..
The Nigerian Police are supposed to have all the necessary security by-pass to all the possible available identity-management data-base systems in Nigeria, including BVN, NIMC-NIN, NCC, FRSC, TIN, NHIS, NPC, INEC-VIN, PASSPORT-NUMBER etc., and be able to cross-check data from any of them in order to get out every possible information that pertains to the identification of individuals, which would give them further leads in their investigations.
But here we are in Nigeria, we have a very docile police system who doesn't even have the slightest access to any privileged information or intelligence.
Even the banks have by-pass access to run checks on customers’ INEC-VIN, NIMC-NIN, FRSC-LICENCE, AND PASSPORTS. But our police doesn't have any, which is very very baadd.
THEN,, For the sake of privacy policy, and for the Protection of private information of the citizens, the by-pass granted to the police for the checks should be regulated, and be fully official and formal, and ANY of such checks made on any of the data-base portals would be properly lodged against the logon-identity of the officer who conducted the check as well as that of the team-leader who authorised the checks, including the file-number of the case-file for which the check was done.
Thus, the results of any single data-base checks should have the logon-identity of the officer who ran the check and that of the officer who authorised for the checking to be done, the title of the case-file and file-number, and a brief description for the need of the check..
This would minimise unauthorized checking of people's private information by compromised or unauthorized police officers, for unauthorised purposes.
MODERN POLICING: IGP LAUNCHES ‘SMARTFORCE’ DATABASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR DIGITALIZATION OF PERSONNEL RECORDS
Commences Training of Officers for Decentralized Upload of Personnel Data
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, psc(+), NPM, NEAPS, fdc, CFR, has launched the ‘IGP-SmartForce Database Management Centre’ today Wednesday 1st February, 2023, for Personnel Records Digitalization and Biometric Capturing of all officers of the Nigeria Police Force to ensure that all officers have their details captured and stored for record purposes and to ease administrative bottlenecks, create ease in tracking postings/transfers, and issue Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Cards for personnel identification.
The SmartForce with Storage Servers domiciled in the Nigeria Police Force National Command and Control Centre (NPF-C4i) facilities and SmartForce office, Office of the Force Secretary in the Force Headquarters, Abuja, is aimed at integrating the Force into an ICT-Based System to simplify the management of its personnel records, manage the entire workforce of the Nigeria Police Force, uniquely manage/identify each personnel of the Force and is structured with modern technological concepts to monitor the distribution of personnel workforce and access across the country. The system will aid the office of the Force Secretary in planning for the deployment of personnel in the Force, budgetary-related issues, tracing/identification of Police personnel, and retrieval of records as it relates to serving and retired Police personnel.
The IGP has equally flagged off the practical training of Police Public Relations Officers (PPROs) and ICT Officers from the 36 State Commands and the FCT at the Force Headquarters on handling and use of the gadgets provided for data capturing of all personnel including a modernized hi-tech biometric machine with unique features like Fingerprint scanner, 2D Scanner, and Smart Facial Recognition application.
While reiterating his vision for a Police driven by the integration of cutting-edge technology, the Inspector-General of Police has ordered a total overhaul of the former system and a swift commencement of the digitalization process across all Commands and Formations of the Force for timeous upgrade and operation of the system.

jaxxy: All I know is u cannot over vote and not detect it immediately to cancel and have redone b4 declaring a winner. BVAS will/Should detect it b4 declaring the winner.
osun was even a simple election done alone not like the major general elections. It should not be that complicated.
sparko1: Let's follow your process, there was an interruption and the result wasn't transmitted to the back end.
1. Which figure was then used to certify the result?
2. If the machine stops transmission, where does the information get stored on, on a temporary storage device which can be accessed? (we already said it can't be online because it stopped sending), if that is the case why do we need the BVAS in the first place?
The whole reason for the the BVAS is so information can be sent electronically and immediately, if the BVAS machine still have to be taken to the collation center and be checked manually, INEC have succeeded in nothing, no different.
3. I am a Computer Scientist, and from what I know, the information is already on INEC server, the information was uploaded into the database when we registered, so what the BVAS does is compare the information captured with what is in the database, once that is confirmed the individual is cleared and allowed to vote.
Once the voting is done, they don't need to Send pictures, the list of names and unique code is sent to the database for confirmation and collation.
It does not matter when the information is accessed, even during the voting, you should be able to see those who have been accredited by BVAS from anywhere, if this is not the case, then BVAS is USELESS.
In the Anambra Election of 2021,, the Accreditation was Online and Realtime. But due to low data network service,, the accreditation was so slow. Therefore, in Ekiti and Osun, the Accreditation was offline on the BVAS Device, but needed to be synchronised periodically as the election progressed. But that shouldn't waste time. 3-mins or 5-mins intervals, or even hourly. And synchronisation is not supposed to last more than 12-hours.
That is why we need INEC to be bold and explain what made Synchronisation to the Osun BVAS Details to waste so much time.
Bovis: No brainer OP, the synchronised bvas was fraudulently arranged in Osun by INEC after receiving huge amounts of money from the Adeleke team - that’s why it took 40 days to produce after the election
Then, they should come out bravely and either accept or deny it.

damkin24: If the whole truth could be unrivalled about the whole thing it would be much better and help in future elections. But something just came to my mind that what if the judgment has been in favour of Adeleke and PDP I doubt if you would have written all this epistles.
Even though I never supported Andy-Uba of Anambra, do you know that it pained me badly when INEC disqualified him.?? Because, the Anambra Election Tribunal was about to explode a lot of things.
Anything that brings the truth out, is what I support. This particular Osun Election is not supposed to be of any concern to me. But for the fact that I am studying the efficiency and the effectiveness of the BVAS,, I had been asking lots of questions.. Even far before the election itself took place.
sapele914: Your Name is true reflection of yourself blunt craze man? you would rather die, than vote either Tinubu or Buhari?
To call you dense would be an understatement.
We are told that the power of life or death wrest with the tongue, Rest In Peace.
Oga..
Go back and read the original question again.
And YES.. This game here inside this very thread has a very simple rule..
If you don't want to play the game by its rules, then scroll on and pass.
If you must play, play by the rules.
So sharraapp and stop bringing something that is not part of the game into the game.
And about death... What about it?? If someone made a decision that a happy peaceful death is better than a cursed life,, did that person make a bad decision?
Or abi you yourself, you no go die?? Would you prefer to live-on living a wretched life at 120yrs, yet unfulfilled.??
43Ronin: I am voting but for sowore, so you can say I am wasting my vote. None of those 3 candidates have what it takes to deliver Nigeria.
NO..
I won't say that.
You have already made up your mind. So, I can leave you.
The way you sounded, I thought you were still undecided, so I wanted to convince you a little bit further, in order to be sure that “Not-Voting” was your actual choice.
But since you've made your choice already, I'm okay. I'm done. Happy Voting.
Donake: The question should be why is it in Osun State case these irregularities were unravelled? Anambra and Ekiti had theirs with no complaints or eyebrows raised.
Why is it Osun State? INEC should tell their POs when to switch off their BVAS machines so we have data properly synched for the purpose of post-election litigation.
The international community looks.
None of the failed candidates had ever had the guts to petition the BVAS Data..
Andy-Uba would have petitioned the results, but he was disqualified in the process. In Ekiti, they didn't petition the BVAS Data. .. .. Thus, Osun is an eye-opener. And I am very happy that they petitioned it. It would only make the process better and tighter.
Lukgaf: I'm happy to read Starlink has made its way to Nigeria, bringing an end to the frustration caused by subpar 2G providers claiming to offer 4G/5G services. Although the cost of the Starlink device may be high (around 200k), the quality-wise monthly subscription is relatively affordable, making it a viable option for many.
This arrival of Starlink is sure to shake up the market and force the competition, such as Uncle Yellow, Green, and Red, to step up their game.
