Any guideline that can frustrate all rigging attempts is welcome.
Please, according to your own judgement,, does this recent INEC’s guidelines do justice to that?

fergie001:
In the very rural areas, there lies the vulnerability.
That's where elections are won & lost.
With the BVAS device, such vulnerabilities are made very tight....
And the new Electoral Act made it to be that there are no more rooms for the bye-passing of the BVAS Accreditation..
..
Thus, if the BVAS device successfully recognised up to 568 voter's cards, but it ended up authenticating only 46 people,, then, only 46 voters are expected to vote, and not 568 (not even 400 or 50 sef). If not, the election in that Polling-Unit would be voided.
..
..
With these new stringent rules,, how exactly can such a rigging be carried out in the hinterlands??
..
I really need the details to be broken down for me, so I can know how far we are preparing.

These ones I listed above are the very important ones, which I think we should all know for now (that is, as we prepare for the 2023 General Elections and beyond).
..
..
I AM NOT SURE YET, WHETHER INEC WOULD USE THESE GUIDELINES IN THE UPCOMING EKITI-STATE AND OSUN-STATE GUBERNATORIAL ELECTIONS..
Politics › Re: INEC Guidelines: A Quick Summary Of The Contents of the INEC Guidelines.. by BluntCrazeMan(op):
6. If the BVAS Device Continues to malfunction, it should be replaced. And if it wouldn't be replaced within the day of the Election, then the Election in the affected Polling-Unit should be postponed to continue the following day. (Section 23).

7. Even though there is going to be Electronic Collations and Electronic Transmissions (Section 38), there should also be Manual Collations and Manual Transmissions (Section 48) . The Electronically Collated Results would be used to check and verify the manually collated results before they are announced. (Section 51)
Thus, the Electronically Collated Results and the Electronically Transmitted Results from each levels of the electoral process, both voting and collation, as well as all the data that are contained inside the BVAS Device, are all going to be playing very important roles in the final results that are declared by the INEC, from now going forward.

8. INEC would prosecute even their own staff who counted and allotted votes in excess of the numbers that are captured inside the BVAS Device during accreditation.. Whether the staff is Adhoc Staff or Permanent Staff (Section 18-b)
The guidelines made it very clear that all the staff that are involved with the Election would be made to sign some documents of oath of neutrality. (Section 45)
With such documents, the staff can be held fully responsible for any official misconduct that they are involved in.

..
HERE BELOW ARE THE QUICK TAKE-AWAYS FROM THE NEW INEC GUIDELINES..
..
1. The Accreditation is going to be purely, wholly, and totally Electronic. (Section 18 and 19)

2. If the BVAS Technology fails to complete the accreditation of a voter, the voter cannot participate in the Election. (Section 20)

3. If there happen to be a wilful obstruction or resistance to the use of the BVAS Device in some of the polling units, such polling units shall be credited with zero votes during collation. (Section 100-ii)

4. What should now be determining the inconclusiveness of elections is no more the total number of registered voters in the affected polling units, but the total number of PVCs that were collected in the affected polling units.

5. If the number of recorded votes is greater than the number of the Accredited Voters (that is, as recorded inside the BVAS Device), then the Elections in such affected Polling-Units is regarded as voided Elections. (Section 40)

Family › Re: Adopted Son Or Biological Son: Who Gets One's Inheritance? by BluntCrazeMan: 8:00pm On Jun 06, 2022
FalseProphet1:
There's this mild drama currently going on in the family. My uncle died late last year (at an old age). The problem here is that they some delay in child birth, (7 years after their wedding to be prescise) so during this long wait, he and the wife decided to adopt a male child.

7 years after his adoption, children started popping in. They had a set of twins (males) and then 2 boys and a girl making it 5 biological children.

This my uncle was a wealthy man, so he had properties in the town of their state of origin and in the village.

Upon his death last year, the eldest son (the one who was adopted) sealed off the property in their village and claimed ownership of the 3 rental buildings in the town. This angered my uncle's brothers who were of the opinion that he's not family and therefore has no right to do such when the man's biological kids are very much around.

So they (the uncles) had a meeting with the biological sons of their late brother to get rid of what they termed an outcast in their midst.

They later invited the adopted young man to the village and used the community youths to beat him up and threatened to kill him if he doesn't stay away from their family properties. That he should look for his own biological parents and inherit whatever they left for him.

Now this didn't go down well, cos he used the police to lock up one of the twins and the whole family members are threatening fire and brimstone if the young man isn't released. They took the matter to the community elders who of course supported them by saying the adopted man has no right of forceful claim to any property unless it's given to him willingly by the family members.

As of now they have destroyed his wife's business in one of the buildings, burnt his car and have vowed to even kill him if he doesn't release their son.

That's why I brought it here. Was the adopted son wrong to have claimed ownership of his late father's properties without the official nod of the family members?

Do adopted children have right of inheritance in the family they find themselves?

What's your opinion on this matter.

Modified: I forgot to add that my uncle hasn't been buried because of this matter. His body is still in the mortuary cos there have to be an agreement from the family before burial takes place, and since the family is in chaos, the burial cannot hold for now.
I just don't know what prevented the man from writing a will, upon say he knew that his family is somehow.

NOTHING.

Abiii?? huh
...
Now, tell me why millions of crimes go so free in Nigeria.
Why would the term “Unknown” Gun-men even get to be used by the security of a society that is working for more than ONE YEAR.
It is a big shame that the term “Unknown” would ever be used while solving security and criminal issues.
..
Why would the criminals be UNKNOWN, and the security of such a society would rush to make an official public statement??
Why don't they continue their investigations, until they know who the criminals are.
...
No?
Which reminds me, there were no investigations in the first place.

I guess you know about Tendencies and Potentialities.??
..
..
There are good tendencies and bad tendencies in every single individual.
..
You cannot tell me that you don't know any single bad thing, or that you cannot do any of the bad things which you already know - no matter the situation.
..
The best way to see human beings is that:
“All human beings are potentially selfish and greedy when left in a totally lawless situation (that is, when left to exist in our primitive animalistic human nature), unless influenced by some intellectual internal convictions or some external societal impositions. A primitive untamed human is not a good human”.
..
In a society where the leaders are good, then good tendencies and potentialities would manifest in the majority of the people due to the deliberate effort by these good leaders to inculcate the personal convictions in people for them to choose to do things for the sake of the general good of others, and then, these good leaders also make the external circumstances and conditions of the society to be very pleasant for the people who do good, and very bad for the people who do bad..
In such a society, majority of the people would just be doing good things happily, as if there is a “prize” to be won for doing good.
..
In a society where the leaders are bad, the leaders don't care about directing the people towards making personal decisions to do anything for the general good of others, because the leaders themselves are also trying to milk the same people dry through every means possible. The leaders don't have any moral grounds to try to lead the people by example.
In such a lawless society, all the natural primitive animalistic selfish and greedy tendencies in the majority of the humans would begin to manifest.
Survival of the fittest becomes the norm. The “weak” are constantly exploited and eliminated from such a society.
Those ones who seek to do things for the general good of others becomes the “weak species”, and got constantly exploited, and there is no way they are protected by the over-doings of the “strong ones”.
..
In such a society of lawlessness,, the cause of the lawlessness is the bad Leadership.
..
Anybody who wants to survive in such a bad society would have the only option to active the primitive animalistic tendencies in them, and thus, such a person is potentially waiting to become anything that the faulty society throws at him.
The only saviour of such a person faced with such a difficult option is: if the person already had a good upbringing while growing-up, thus the good upbringing would not let (prevent) him/her to come out All Bad and Evil.
..
..
Let me summarise everything I have been typing in one sentence:
WE ARE ALL POTENTIALLY BAD AND EVIL, IT'S JUST THAT WE ARE CONSTANTLY KEEPING OURSELVES IN CHECK SO THAT THE EVIL IN US WON'T MANIFEST..
..
..
So Bro:
Do you agree with me that:
A primitive untamed human is not a good human”.
