Politics › Resource Control: Apart From Petroleum, Does The FG Control Some Other Resources by BluntCrazeMan(op): 3:05pm On Sep 08, 2021
Apart from petroleum and all its derivatives and products....,,, are there other Naturally Occurring Resources Which the Federal Government have absolute control over??
(Just the way it has over petroleum)??
..
(That is, according to the Constitution and the Official Gazettes.)

Clearing of goods is custom duty...olodo

IGR is mainly PAYE from corporate organizations
Majority of LAGOS State IGR comes from the ports.
Study further.

I totally support states to be collecting VAT that will give them more money.

https://economicconfidential.com/2021/09/asvi-2020-igr-federation-account/
We know where the LAGOS State IGR comes from..
Taxes that were collected on all The Goods that Finally find their ways to the Onitsha Main Market.
..
If there is any other main source of IGR for Lagos?? Please let me know..
..
Let there be other ports (and Wharfs) where imported goods are cleared and distributed to the other parts of the country (and successfully bypassing LAGOS)..
The IGR of Lagos will drop drastically and get shared amongst the states that have the Ports (and Wharfs)

Politics › Is The New INEC’s Electronic Authentication Covered In The Electoral Act?? by BluntCrazeMan(op): 2:21pm On Sep 08, 2021

The newly proposed Voters-Authentication is supposed to be carried out using the newly introduced BVAS Technology.
But as usual, the use of the BVAS Technology, as well as other previous technologies that were introduced by the INEC such as SCR and ZPad, are not recognised and welcomed in the Electoral Act.
Does it then mean that we should sue INEC to court whenever they disenfranchise us from voting in elections due to the non-adherence to the use of these new technologies which are not recognised by the law??
..
See this example below....

INEC Nigeria is the most useless and inconsistent organisation.
INEC hardly abides by its own guidelines and will not support this position in post election litigation, that is why I will always advise politicians to rig or be rigged out.
INEC supports the best rigger even if your rigging is contrary to their guidelines.
A friend of mine was in election petition tribunal challenging the malpractice and non use of electronic authentication which INEC said was mandatory and the only means to get accredited on the voters register.
He proved clearly that in the Federal Constituency which he contested, while INEC records show only about 14,000 people were electronically authenticated which means that the number of voters who had their PVC read electronically and qualified to vote, INEC returned more than 30,000 votes.
INEC lawyers argued gladly that electronic authentication/ verification prior to voting is not known to law and the useless tribunal members agreed. That is how this guy was openly rigged out.

INEC goes to court to deny the legality of the aspect of its own guidelines yet want people to follow the guidelines

Seems you guys are not getting what the OP is really asking.... (IDEAL Solution).

If you say for every defection by a politician that his/her seat should be declared vacant, (what if )

Scenario : The defector was someone trying to follow due diligence in discharging his/her duties according to laid down constitution, but the party is trying to circumvent due process thereby frustrating the politician and he/she felt safe to defect so as to carry out his/her expected duties without party interference.
And also, remember to consider the established judgements from the courts, that “it is the parties that won the positions, and not the candidates in question.”

That should be the right thing to do.
So, why had the parties not taken the defecting Politicial Public Officers to court for a proper and an adequate redress??
Or are the parties being lenient??
Or are they being afraid?

In-fact, If that is the case, then the practice of defection would be at the very minimum

Politics › If An Elected Political Public Officer Changes Party, What Should Be Done? by BluntCrazeMan(op):
It is very clear that in the Nigerian Politics, it is the Party that wins in the Elections, and not the contesting candidate.
Therefore, whoever that wins in an election is riding on the victory of the party, and not on his own victory (no matter his influence or popularity).
Therefore, one is meant to ask the pertinent question....
If an elected political public officer changes party while still in office, what should be the next ideal thing to be done? (That is, going by the same rules of the Nigerian Politics)
..
I have always tried to solve this puzzle situation.
And also, there had not been any legal judgement on similar situations.
..
Nairalanders, I need answers on this one.

In as much as Umahi may be right the other simple reason to me is JOBLESSNESS.

Like Seriously, is that really any of your major concern in this life??
If it is not, then leave it for those that it concerned.
If it is, then stop bringing diaspora into this.
