Yaya Toure has been voted the BBC African Footballer of the Year 2015. The 32-year-old Ivory Coast midfielder becomes only the third player, after Nigerians Nwankwo Kanu and Jay-Jay Okocha, to receive the honour twice. Football fans voted for Manchester City's Toure, who first won in 2013, ahead of Yacine Brahimi, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Andre Ayew and Sadio Mane. "I am very proud. To receive this dedication from the fans is unbelievable," Toure told BBC Sport. "Also I want to pay tribute to the other nominees. African football is growing up, becoming much better and we have fantastic young players coming through now." Toure described all five nominees as "champions". He added: "I am delighted and very happy. And as an African player, I want to lead all my younger brothers to be successful in the future. "When I was a kid I was always dreaming of being an important player. I have sacrificed a lot. "I will continue to try to win a trophy every year, I will fight to win a personal trophy." http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/35062487 |

Hello everyone, I am new in the market and I have started trading using the online Morgan capital platform. I have been buying so far and the process is straight forward. Please how do you get your money after selling? Can I sell my shares and immediately use the money to buy another shares seemlessly or does it have to go through a process before you get your trading account credited and how long does it take if yes? My next question is how do you get the money back into your bank account if needs be ? Thanks. |

Government officials have met with the leaders of Boko Haram sect for talks on freedom for the abducted Chibok girls, President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday said in France. However, he added that apart from ensuring that it negotiates with genuine leaders of the sect, the government rejected the condition given to it by the sect to proceed with the negotiations. The condition is for the release from custody of the main suspect behind the production of Improvised Explosives Devices (IEDs). The President, who was rounding off his state visit to France, spoke during a meeting with the Nigerian community, who met with him under the auspices of Nigerians In the Diaspora Organisation (NIDO) Buhari said: “The issue of Chibok girls has occupied our minds and because of the international attention it drew and the sympathy throughout the country and the world, the government is negotiating with some of Boko Haram’s leadership. “It is a very sensitive development in the sense that first we have to establish who are the genuine leaders of the Boko Haram. That is number one. Number two, what are their terms? The first impression we had was not very encouraging,” he said He said: “They wanted us to release one of their leaders who is a strategic person in developing and making IEDs which have been causing a lot of havoc in the country by blowing up people in churches, mosques, marketplaces, motor parks and other places. “But it is very important that if we are going to talk to anybody, we have to know how much he is worth. “Let them bring all the girls and then, we will be prepared to negotiate. I will allow them to come back to Nigeria or to be absorbed into the community. We have to be very careful; the concern we have for the Chibok girls, one only imagine if they got a daughter there between 14 and 18 years and for more than one and a half years, a lot of the parents who have died would rather see the graves of their daughters rather the condition they imagine they were in. “This has drawn a lot of sympathy throughout the world; that is why this government is getting very hard in negotiating and getting the balance of those who are alive.” Buhari assured the Nigerians that his administration was doing everything to improve on the state of the economy through provision of infrastructure in critical areas. http://saharareporters.com/2015/09/15/buhari-says-boko-haram-demands-release-its-bomb-maker-exchange-chibok-girls |

Nigeria’s Code of Conduct Bureau has filed charges against Nigeria’s Senate President, Bukola Saraki, for alleged failure to fully declare his assets, SaharaReporters has just learnt. The tribunal’s 13-count charge exclusively obtained by SaharaReporters accuses Mr. Saraki, among other crimes, of improperly using state funds to purchase private assets during his tenure as the governor of Kwara State while he was senator of the federal republic of Nigeria. The Senate President was also accused of declaring as part of his assets a property that had not been sold to him, a maneuver that is known as “anticipatory looting” in Nigeria’s political lexicon. The Code of Conduct Tribunal has never convicted any Nigerian official for false declaration of assets. Mr. Saraki’s wife, Toyin Saraki, is being investigated for money laundering by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), but charges are yet to be filed against her by the agency. SaharaReporters has done a series of exposes on Mr. Saraki’s history of money laundering and graft beginning from his role in the systematic looting of assets belonging to Societe Generale Bank in which his family had significant shares. The bank ultimately failed. Mr. Saraki has been embattled ever since his emergence as the Senate Presidency, with many anti-corruption activists and groups viewing him as an impediment to any efforts to combat corruption in Nigeria. http://saharareporters.com/2015/09/15/charges-filed-against-senate-president-saraki-over-false-declaration-assets |
I came accross this challenge by a daring prayer recited by a GEJ supporter and asking a Buhari supporter to say Amen if he believes in PMB. The guy took the challenge and threw back the same prayer to his challenger. At the time of compiling this report no GEJ supporter has been able to take the challenge . I decided to open this thread to see how truly we believe in our leaders:

By Juliet Oyoyo Kaduna Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai has said that he was recovering government lands from those that acquired them illegally and not demolishing houses in Kaduna. Governor El-Rufai said that his government was not all about demolition, and as such, people of Kaduna State should not entertain any fear that he was out to demolish their houses. The Governor who spoke through his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Samuel Aruwan while addressing journalists at the Government House on Tuesday said that the government has also embarked on recovery of schools and hospitals lands from illegal occupants. According to him, “since after the town hall meeting in Zaria on Sunday, some people have started campaign of calumny that El-Rufai has come with his demolition ideology, but to set the record straight, we are only asking those who illegally occupied government owned institutions’ lands to vacate the lands. “This government cannot allow encroachment into schools and hospitals lands to continue. For instance, when we visited the state wLibrary in Zaria and Alhudahuda College, private buildings have almost taken over the institutions. This has serious effect on the learning atmosphere of such institutions.” He added that “Alhudahuda College for instance is over a decade in existence, but if we allow the type of encroachment going on there to continue, the school might go into extinction in the next 30 years. We have given them notice; we will only recover the lands for the future of our children. The public lands belong to the good people of Kaduna state and we must recover it before it is too late,” he said. http://dailyindependentnig.com/2015/08/im-recovering-govt-lands-not-demolishing-structures-el-rufai/ |
I may not know the difference between the two policies but if they are the same, it shows how weak the previous administration was for a president to issue an order and such instruction was not carried out accordingly despite a clear dead line. All the same it is a welcome development. God bless Nigeria! God bless those who are striving to see Nigeria is back on track. To the enemies of progress, May God grant them wisdom to repent and join the common goal fight for a better Nigeria. |
ocelot2006:JEG's administration secretly hired mercenaries to fight Boko Harem using their own helicopter pilots. LONDON, May 21 (Thomson Reuters Foundation) – Senegalese-American singer Akon, whose Akon Lighting Africa initiative aims to bring electricity to some of the 600 million Africans who lack it, announced on Thursday the launch of a new “Solar Academy” for the continent. The institution, scheduled to open this summer in Bamako, Mali’s capital, will try to give African engineers and entrepreneurs the skills needed to develop solar power. European experts will help supply training equipment and programs. The academy will aim to teach people how to install and maintain solar-powered electricity systems as well as micro grids, “which are really taking off in rural Africa,” Akon Lighting Africa said. Africa has 320 days of sunshine a year, the organization said in a statement, so harnessing solar energy is an ideal way to enable those without electricity to get it. “We have the sun and innovative technologies to bring electricity to homes and communities. We now need to consolidate African expertise,” said Samba Baithily, who founded Akon Lighting Africa with Akon and Thione Niang. Seventy percent of Africans are under 35, and creating sustainable jobs is vital, the group said, so investing in solar power for the future can help in more ways than one. “We expect the Africans who graduate from this center to devise new, innovative, technical solutions,” said Niang. “With this Academy, we can capitalize on Akon Lighting Africa and go further.” The group announced the launch of the academy at the second United Nations Sustainable Energy for All Forum in New York Source: http://reportsafrique.com/2015/05/akon-launches-academy-to-help-provide-electricity-to-600-million-people-in-africa/ |

VOICEOFTHEMASES:You are right, I just confirm his card was rejected by the machine but all the same the accreditations started well with the 4th card reader. This does not change the fact that INEC has adequate backup plans in place. |
I am impressed with INEC's backup plans for this election. The first, second and third card readers failed before Mr. President got accrideted with the 4th card reader. This shows INEC is fully prepared and they deserve kudos. Please give it to INEC |

Remember, someone donated N500m to GEJ campaign and the person has a link with the privatised NEPA. Dreaming of constant light will be a mirage as far as the bribed person remains in charge. There will be no checks and balances. |
I wonder how these goats managed to climb to the top of this tree.
