Miner13: Topic= Posting of national youth service corps(NYSC) members should be limit to their geo-political zone.Noted. Thanks |
damoskiy: I suggested some topics on the previous thread...I think to make the debate better organised all schools represented should have a chat room where they would discuss, meet and come up with some reasonable topics which is still subject to final approval from the judges. With that the debate would be better organised apart from that all schools should come up with atleast 5 representativeThanks .Noted! |
opylas: My topic: "Shld undergraduates look past ASUU 4 hlp to renovate the educatn section?" i.e We all knw wat dey say dey r mainly fyting 4, will their action brng home d xpected results? (rem they bn going on strike snc '80) m new to d deb8 thing, Boay & Fynst, u guys seem to b d mods here, u sure will knw hw to brng all'o dat into a single topic. Thanks. Nice 1 btw guysNoted. Thanks |
Fynestboi: i dnt undastand your topic, pls rephrase.I understood him |
If I may suggest, let the least number of representatives be 5 and above. That is to ensure the continuity of the debate. If you watch last debate, some pulled out after making up the Contestants' list, and only the regulars here saw it through all the way. @Finest.. What says you about that pm?
Noted |

Please just keep following. Dont post anything yet. Thanks for the compliance |
The debate will start from the group stage, where all participating schools will be classified into different groups. For example GROUP A UNIZIK AAU UI EKSU GROUP B OOU FUTA FUTO UNILAG et cetera The debate will be in pairs just like a football match, date and time for the debate will be fixed and it will be properly announced. E.g OOU VS FUTA January 15 2014 12noon EKSU VS UNIZIK January 15 2014 2pm The debate between the school paired will be the same day. At the end the two winners will qualify for the next phase Competition will be in phases (Depending on the number of participating schools) E.g Group stage Round 16 Quarter Final Semi Final Final |
On behalf of the Grand Commander Nairaland-Nigera Oluwaseun Osewa and other coordinators I present to you the NAIRALAND INTERSCHOOL DEBATE. Remember, this is the planning thread |
Please dont post anything yet. The thread is 'under construction'. Anyone find going against this risk ban. Thanks for compliance |
Hello fellow Nigerian Undergraduates and other Nairaland users. This is the planning thread for the forthcoming NAIRALAND INTERSCHOOL DEBATE. Are you new to online debates? This is not the first one on Nairaland, you can check for the just concluded NAIRALAND ANNUAL EDUCATION DEBATE where ALICIAKEYS emerged as the winner among other participants. Special thanks to the organisers, participants and the audience who made it a huge success. God bless you all THE INTERSCHOOL DEBATE This debate is for all schools in Nigeria, mainly universities, polytechnics and colleges of education. Each school will be represented by their students here on Nairaland PLEASE NOTE: The debate is a competition to challenge our abilities and develop our intellectual capacities. It is for all to learn and not for strifing or sentimental bias. |
Sermwell: do you have proof of this? If you are approached to substantiate on this, will you be able to convince beyond reasonable doubt? Can you give evidence in support of this assertion?....well, except this is a topic for debate, you might just be guilty of unwarranted assumption. It is just a SUGGESTED TOPIC for debate not an assertion. Calm down brother, the debate is not on. |
Sermwell: please you should give us your own point of view thereby setting the pace for arguing for or against! you just cannot drop a topic here and walk away expecting us to respond! Haba! The debate is forthcoming, just be patient. This thread is not for debate. The Debate Thread will soon come up |
A nice write up. I hope majority who read this will comprehend it. |
This is Physics for you. Black is a good receptor and radiator of heat. Other colours especially the bright ones are otherwise. They reflect the rays of the sun off their surfaces. It is a fact sir! |
Davo93: I can sense something big coming up and i can't wait to see it happen.Nice suggestion. Others please you can do the same |
Olastep1: I would have enlisted as my little quota but the date ish is disturbing. If ASUU strike is to end by Dec and we resume by Jan. And you guys are planning for a debate by march. I'm sure my school's exam wil be by April. So, how about that? Even if the strike ends today, Exams will be March/April. AND you want us guys to come here and keep checking for info everytime and also preparing for e-debate? Even during this strike, how many stalites do you see on nairaland? Or is it not inter-school debate? Maybe you only need aspirants in the debate.I got that, but the recent one Nairaland Education Debate was a success and I believe most participants if not all are undergraduate(tertiary institution students). 'Stalites' still come to Nairaland but majority may not come to the education section. Please dont miss it. It will be a time to learn |
You wan rob me baa? Ee no go work for you! ««grabs my phone and dials *556#....»» ![]() (I don't know if the organizers wants to make it public. So I will keep it anonymous the way it was sent)
That is alright. It is the organisers who ought to make it public (if they want to) from the outset. |
I love the write up and I have seen many intelligent comments. The discrimination is pathetic and many of our brothers and sisters are victims. An HND holder will not be employed to teach in my school (a university), but a BSC holder will be employed to teach in polytechnics. An OND holder will start from year 2 in a university after 3 years in polytechnic(IT period inclusive). It is obvious for all to see. The countries where we borrowed the idea of polytechnics have abandoned the system they all have only universities. I will advise JAMBITES to struggle for university admission, those with OND please go and get your degree and those with HND should get their degree too through direct entry or PGD. This is because we cant help to swiftly and totally erase the discrimination. Mind you the international community also undermine HND. It is an odd old idea to them |
Fynestboi: good. You can check your inbox |
@ Mazi can the public no the prize. @ Aliciakeys please let us hear from you. |
Fynestboi: are u on whatappYes I am. |
Fynestboi: To those that will volunteer to help in coordinating the E INTER SCHOOL DEBATE, can start showing interest now....It will be a rare privilege for me to be a part of the coordinating team. I volunteer |
I sharply disagree with the writer's meaning for the word 'strong' in this context. We presently dont have a LEADER we only have a 'supreme administrative head' called a president. We dont need a tyrant or despot as our president. We need an intelligent, purpose-ful, determined, sound, well-informed and indomitable person as our Leader. This should be the meaning for the word 'strong'. |
Buhari is not a strong man. He is weak and bias. Obj is a strong man but he was not honest and he wasted the opportunity he had to change this country. If you will check the history, Idi-Agbon was 'the man' of Buhari's military administration. Only a few who watched sternly noticed Idi-Agbon. Buhari was just there as the boss, Idi-Agbon was the 'working man' |
