Hello guys. I'm not really anybody, but I've been a Nigerian for 25 years, and I've noticed, I'm sure we've all noticed, the big issues we've been facing in this country regarding leadership and development. One thing that is as sure as the sun is that everybody is very tribalistic to a certain measure. Everyone is always after what personally benefits them, rather than what benefits the country. We've had 62 years running with this ideology (probably a lot longer than that, judging by how easy it was for us to be colonized and the lack of real innovation in our respective civilizations). This ideology has done nothing to ease our situation or to make our country any better than it is today. Now, some people are clamoring for restructuring, basically that the country revert back to the 1960 constitution, and everyone would be all the better for it. Others are saying, you know what, our current constitution is very good. Let it remain the way it is. What if I want to told you that both the 1960 and the 1990s constitution are both wrong and neither of them are working? The old 1960 constitution failed in its implementation, plus its partisan politics, and this resulted in the civil war because of marginalization. The 1999 Constitution also didn't work and people are still being marginalized and corruption is at an all time high with development reaching rock bottom. So what now would be the solution to this dilemma? Now we're currently faced with a Nigeria that has not really had a chance to shine on the world stage. A Nigeria, I think, that has never shone throughout world history, hence why we were so easily colonized by foreign powers. Now why is it that the region currently inhabited by Nigerians is always failing to govern itself correctly. I've thought about it for a considerable amount of time and finally came to the conclusion, we're betting on a sick horse, and always would keep betting on sick horses because there is no repercussion to us betting on a sick horse. I'll explain. All our constitutions, both the old and new, have modelled on the British and American system respectively. Although both proved successful in their home countries, they ended up being a raging failure in ours. And that's because Nigeria is unlike the Uk and the US. What we have is a completely unique country system that in turn should be governed by a completely unique constitution. Hence where I come in. My constitution is the Winning Horse Constitution Basically, what this means is that we'll be running on competition and accountability. In the horse race, no horse breeder ever fielded a sickly underperforming horse. Yet, in our case, we kept fielding out sickly horses year after year. And we did this because our sponsors of the race didn't pull the plug on us and hire out new horse breeders. We carried on with the assumption that we'd always keep fielding sickly horses and whether we win or lose, Absolutely nothing would happen to us. The Winning Horse Constitution is one that plays to our strengths rather than our weaknesses. Nigeria as a country is ethnically divided as well as religiously divided. Both more variety lies in the ethnic divisions rather than the religious one. As a result, Nigerians in general aren't united, nor will they ever be. And they need not be united, as that's the equivalent of flogging a dead camel. We have Six geopolitical zones; the North West, North East, North Central, South West. South East, and the South South. Now, comprising these six geopolitical zones are more than 300 ethnic groups with three major ethnic groups in the mix: the Igbo, Yoruba, and the Hausa-Fulani. That's basic social studies. Everyone knows this. We also know that there's been a bone of contention for centuries amongst the various tribes, neither willing to work with the other for their collective development. The white men capitalized on this with their divide and conquer tactics and so were able to basically enslave several powerful empires and kingdoms. You see, competition should be driven not by blind spite but by intelligent innovation. A society that shuns or abhors innovation is fated to be doomed. Let me give an example. I am a horse breeder for a race tournament. There are several others like me. Similarly, we are all sponsored monetarily by several key players in the horse racing business. What this means is that we're answerable to these people and hence it wouldn't be in our best interest to field in a horse we know is sickly, rather we'd field in our best horses and hope for the best, because we know that we'd lose everything if our horse loses, or worse stumbles and dies before reaching the finish line. This is the Winning Horse Constitution. It is a healthy competition where each horse breeder is fielding their respective best horses because they know that they are accountable to their sponsors and they would lose it all if they don't win the race. Nigeria has a very competitive admixture of people. Our only problem is that without accountability, we've kept on fielding sickly horses for 62 years, and probably centuries longer than that. It is not just us as a people that are wrong. It is the system that encourages such a proceeding that is wrong. If the system allows you to keep betting on a failed horse, you will keep on putting in sickly horses because you don't see that there will be penalties for putting in a sickly horse. But when my sponsor cut off all ties with me and I lost all my sponsorship money, I wouldn't think twice in the future about breeding the sturdiest stallion that would ever grace the racecourse. My constitution goes like this: In this constitution, we have Six geopolitical zones. Each zone would have a roster where only one would field presidential candidates for a tenure. Say there is the 2023 presidential elections. If it's the North East turn to field candidates, what this means is that all political parties would only field North Eastern presidential candidates for the election. That means no Tinubu vs Atiku. Or Obi vs Kwankanso. Rather we'd have a Tinubu vs Fashola, or a Rotimi Amaechi vs Wike. Say it's the North East turn to field their president. Whoever wins is a representative of the North Eastern region. Next election would be... say the turn of the South South, and after that the North Central, then South East, then North West, then South West, and then back again to the North East. The North Eastern candidate that wins the 2023 presidential election would have a VP from the south (also in a roster as well). On assumption of office, the president would be given what I call a metric sheet. These are measures in percentages that would be used to measure not just a president's performance but the entire growth of the country. Say, one of what is listed in the sheet is raising the country's literacy rate from current 60% to 80% after eight years. This means that after the first four years, the president is expected to meet half of that, at 70%. Now after the first four years, if the president fails to meet 80% of that benchmark of 70% literacy rate, the president's administration would be termed a failure. The president would then be given a second chance to contest for the presidential election. The president would also be given the option to change his VP (still from the region on the roster), and reorganize the people appointed on his team. For the next election, the North East president would then be competing against the region that's next to produce a president. For example. Atiku did four years and didn't meet his quota. For the next election, he'll still fly his party's flag, but he'll be competing against the other candidates from the region after the North East. If that region is the South South, then he'll be competing against the Rotimi Amaechis and the Wikes of the world. If he wins, he'll get reelected, and get a chance to meet the benchmark. After 8 years, if the president still has not hit the benchmark on the sheet. For instance, the literacy rate hasn't risen to 80%. Power generation hasn't risen to 20,000 megawatts, etc, the president's administration would be termed a failure. The effect this has is that once the roster cycle is completed, and it is now turn again for the North East to produce a president, they'll be skipped, or miss a turn. Instead it will be the next region that would field presidents. Since most of our regions would not want to be in such a position where they are tagged a region with the previously failed president, they'll field a winning horse and not a sickly horse. I also didn't mention that if the president meets the metric, the region would go on when next it's their turn to field presidents. The effect of this is that there'll be quick developments in all sectors across the country as people would be more likely to vote for the best candidate rather than a popular but sickly candidate, as this time there'll be repercussions for failure. This is basically what I think would solve our problems in this country.

I got an epiphany today and created a new constitution for Nigeria, one that ensures that not just leaders, but the regions that installed those leaders are accountable. I'll share it later on this platform |
This is just depressing. These are the kind of people that are supposed to train the Nigeria's leaders, clueless old goat. He doesn't even know what a skateboard is. He is just a reflection that our leaders and elders are really clueless and don't deserve even an iota of our respect. |
We believe you sah. We the Tinubu supporters can definitely count on ApC to fix our darling country within the next six months. Thank you sah. |
Ha! Even this they want to inflate as well. Well, I'm going to buy all the clothes and shoes I'll ever need for the next 10 years before the price skyrockets |
Touts |
There Will Be More Blood if Asuwaju Wins. Enough that They Can No Longer deny it's existence |
Ha ha ha! Our peaceful crime free country is about to be even more peaceful and crime free. Oh GOD! Why was I so unfortunate to have been born here |
It's common knowledge. He's an illiterate. He needs to be thrown in a garage, the tout. Hooligans!!! |
What Tinubu cannot do doesn't exist ![]() |
aliyuthayo:I set up a Fiverr account last week. The issue is that, I don't hold out much hope on freelance platforms like Fiverr. I've been using it for years and hardly ever get jobs. Maybe it's just me or I'm doing it wrong. Well, hopefully, I'll get jobs on this one. I started a WordPress gig for now as it's the easiest for me to do. If this works out, I'll branch out. |
lovemaths:Yes, I will do so. Thank you very much Modified. I tried the number on your profile but it's not on whatsapp |
Most of us old Nairaland Members know how Nairaland goes. The bitter hatred, ethnic bigotry, and other horrid commentaries that Seun allows on this platform, and that goes on for most days of the week. Then comes Sunday morning. Between the early hours of 5 am to 12 noon on the dot, and it's an entirely different space entirely. With the sheer volume of christian posts, one would wonder if it's the same hate filled forum that one is used to on Nairaland. I often wonder if it's the same Nairaland member that you see most days of the week that also post and comment on Sunday. It's almost that for a short period of time they put a hold on their bitterness and then resume once they're back from Church. This is why Nigeria, although one of the most religious nations on earth, is the worst place to live in. Every christian or Muslim is an hypocrite. They are worst than some of the so-called pagan nations outside. Norway has the most atheist in the world, yet it is probably the most safest and happiest on earth. People even leave their children outside on the pavement while going grocery shopping. Why are Nigerians such religious hypocrites? |
I don't know the angel that threw me here in Nigeria, but Thunder fire that Angel! |
I wish it wasn't that their release was ransomed out, but rather that they were rescued and the kidnappers eliminated. So long as those bandits are alive, no one is safe |
What's with all these hatefully freaks being so openly hate filled. Obi doesn't even have their stupid time. Hopefully he wins and i can live to see them cry. Idiots |
Emir01:You're a slowpoke for intentionally skipping the numerous comments mentioning the people that were attacked for their political views. It's just typical of you APC PDP people. You close your eyes to others suffering until it happens to you then you begin to wail like a pig |
Keep deceiving yourself. Myself, if I'm paid the right amount, I'll also join a bogus BAT rally. But everyone knows who I'll eventually vote for. |
In this day and age, even a drunk dullard would claim to be a prophet |
obedience4:It's common knowledge that Seun remains a chronic racist/tribal bigot. Else, why would you create a website without providing the option of blocking someone you don't like. Also, why are tribal bigoted posts keep being pushed to front page and bigoted comments not flagged and the user banned or booted? |
nwosu1982:ONE DAY THEY WILL GET THEIR JUST DESERTS. You hate people for no reason at all, yet you don't want them to leave. I've never seen such a predatory relationship before in my life. These people are the worst set of people I've ever been unfortunate to come across. And day by day, I find out there are more of them like this. |
Reasoning:You are an idiot. |
Ive never known a more tribal bigoted group than these set of people. No other tribe is as bad as them. Unsurprisingly, such a tout can make this kind of open statement and not expect any backlash. |
Rubbish. Someone that I know has money wella |
I expected to see a lot of Ethnic bigot comments. I wasn't disappointed. The fact that Seun hasn't given us the ability to block tribal bigots only goes to show that he encourages this sort of behavior because it mirrors his |
See! I always knew Amala would be the death of me! Good to know it's already started it's body count. |
Until I hear the bomb go off, none of this is any of my business. Putin is not yet ready to play seriously |
Although you may find this hilarious, just know that a lot of the shenanigans pulled by Buhari may seem funny at first but then really IT'S NOT FUNNY AT ALL. |
aliyuthayo:How do I get freelance work? |
Sad. Anyways |
No special ops? No secret intelligence service? Abi is it not Nigeria those kidnappers are hiding? Can't someone arrange a journalism meet and then implant a kind of bug on the bandit that keeps feeding back the man's location. Can't we triangulate calls like the FBI does when these bandits call parents for ransom. Abi, why do they have to portray themselves to be so inept? So with all our money, we can't carry out a simple intelligence operation. Osama bin laden that was hiding far away in Pakistan was rooted out and eliminated by the US SEALS. Abi are those people performing magic? Do they have two heads? These crooks are hiding somewhere in our BACKYARD! I weep for the black man. Anytime any black man experience racism, I will join the white men to be racist to us. Because we are so low in intelligence. |

How can Universities students be on strike for close to a year now, but all they and their hypocrites Children are Boasting about is; millions people presidential campaign March to be the president of Nigeria. Not that they're shutting Down the country with millions people protests about the poor states of Education in Nigeria, High cost and hardships of living, Inflations, Terrorism, Exploitations, Corruptions, devaluation of Nigeria Currencies, Deplated of health system, Etc. Some Stupid idiots will say that is what they want to go there and do or repair, after wining the presidential election. The motives of every individuals is the answer to Every question; either Good intentions or Evil intentions. And pretending to be Good or Evil while you're not, is even the worst of it.
