i school abroad

n my parents ain't politicians nor have relation to any

that mentality of only the rich school abroad is a facade

life aint rosy for most of us here

nobody milked Nigeria

my parents work for their money

buhari had 1 million naira only n how many cows yet could have 3 kids in the UK

there are farmers who have kids abroad does that mean they r milking Nigeria

when those abroad send dollars home doesn't it help our economy??
You should consider yourself lucky to have had those opportunities. If you think it wasn't easy abroad, you need to visit lecture & residence halls of tertiary schools in Nigeria.

Did you seriously mean that children of the poor can school abroad? May be you are referring to those old times when we had Company/government scholarships. You have to be very comfortable to even dream of attending private universities in Nigeria talk less of travelling abroad.
I hope we are talking about the same Nigeria.

And on that of Gen Buhari sending his children to universities in UK, I have no comments...I won't want to derail the thread.

To me, the fact that a policy is unsustenable on the long run does not mean it is not needed near term. Also, the talk of government needing to stimulate the economy still depend largely on if the government itself has funds to embark on such exercise.

The dude's write up is thoughtful but I feel he is overtly negative and proferred no alternate idea on way forward.
I support some actions of this government even though it might be very unpopular, but the hopes of reviving the economy solely lies on the government in this case that investor confidence is missing. Government need to look for money to spend in the real sectors of the economy.
We need to kick start the engine of our economy before we begin to think of moving into any of the forward gears...

so stfu with the useless hypocrisy against school fees
I think you would still had made sense without the quoted.

No i don't have kids schooling abroad, and Yes, I will love to send my kids to schools abroad for the same reasons you mentioned.
But come to think about it, what percentage of Nigerian students school abroad? Obviously the children of the rich, a larger percentage of the parents of these kids have milked Nigeria dry and made the educational sector useless for the children of average Nigerians. And you are still happy we will be subsidizing them at the expense of other Nigerians who have not been paid salaries for up to six or more months.

We have become an alternative seeking people, and we want to cling to our fake lifestyles at the expense of the greater majority.
BusinessRe: Has Osinbajo Tamed The Dollar? by bodejohn(m): 6:28am On Mar 02, 2017
@OP, God bless you for this summary of my thoughts. I'm in agreement with you 100% except where you suggested that speculators should buy dollar for keeps.

Nigerians are known for early celebrations and in this Era where you can easily be labeled a wailer, fewer people are saying it exactly the way it is.

I don't think the policy is sustainable in the long run and the biggest question as was echoed by you is why is this dollar going to pta/bta and school fees? Medical is a bit understandable.

The poltical class is still subsidizing the rich at the expense of the poor. If we have dollar supply from renewed crude oil sales...we should be giving same to manufacturers to buy raw materials and machinery. The government needs to stimulate the economy as soon as possible...before it becomes a little too late...

You might be attempting to pay greater than the daily or monthly limit.

Lies, Nigerian debit cards do not work overseas for now.

Online market places like Aliexpress do not verify your pin before paying out...too bad if you ask me.

@OP, on going open another account not linked to any atm to keep your money otherwise keep it in a fix deposit account.

As far as I am concerned Buhari is the one spreading rumours of his own death...All he needed to have done all this while is just release a short video to shut the gossips up
I hold no brief for the presidency...and in fact I am appalled by the turn the economy has taken under the present administration...

But....it is equally absurd for someone to sit in the corner of his room and speculate that the president is dead without any prove whatsoever...

He who alleges must prove....it is a ridicule on the office of the president of Nigeria to respond to a baseless death rumor.

Those peddling these rumors should first share pictures of the president on the operating table or better still his dead body.

SportsRe: Can You Recall The Last Day NPFL Recorded An Away Win. by bodejohn(m): 11:03pm On Jan 26, 2017
It's not only about the scores....

You need to analyse the competive nature of the league.

There are no big or small teams in the league...you can hardly separate the teams in terms of quality...

Asking for an away win might be asking too much from a bunch of players who might have travelled for upwards of 7 to 8hrs on the Nigerian road.

This is however not to say that the league has to do more to raise the standard and quality of play and administration.
