gbosaa: Lagos was a former capital city,built and developed with resources from delta delta.
Abuja,the new capital city wouldnt have been like it is today without oil money from south south and that accounts hugely for large influx of not only igbos but people from different parts of the country.Igbos have been crying marginalisation for years and the only visible presence of fed govt in the south east happens to be breweries for alcohols.If not for sharia and religious reasons in the north,all the breweries would,ve been located in the north as well like the kaduna state where you have the following...Nigeria Defence Academy,Defence Industries Corporation,Aviation sch..etc..No one is making noise or complaining,if it had been igbos,the whole country would be accusing them of greed and tribalism.most federal roads in the south east or leading there are not motorable,same with the niger bridge which people have been crying for ages for either repair or a second one but no one cares.Bring the resources to the south east.Invest just 30% of what fed govt spent to develope either lagos or Abuja and see how many igbos would troupe out of their zones.Of course that will not happen but if they save and invest in either lagos and abuja,someone would remind him that he is not an indigene of that state.If he builds a good house for himself and family outside his state of origin,he becomes public enemy no.1 cos so called indigenes will now see him as an expansionist.

Virtually, every other member of the family have made one excuse or the other, but when you ask them privately, it all boils down to the fear of kidnapping. Whether that fear is justified or not, that is the perception. And news of one individual ordering the 'kidnap' of others can only reinforce those fears.

It's a shame really, as he's such a close cousin. Luckily, the girl's parents live in Ibadan, so there will be a white wedding in Ibadan in two weeks. By God's grace, we will all troop down for that.
