kayperry:Lol. You found me in a particularly fine mood today. Enjoy what's left of your night! |
VERDA:Baba, even if the votes had a majority of 14 out of 15, nobody has the right to invade Niger republic to reinstate a deposed government. Why else do you think is the reason the US is being very careful and sceptical about encouraging the idea of an invasion? Because it is wrong and that singular move is capable of triggering consequences beyond the shores of Africa. Diplomacy is the only option. And it has to be done with maximal respect for the will of the people of Niger republic. No one is happy about the happenings in that country, but two wrongs never amount to a positive outcome. It's only in mathematics you can have two minuses giving you a plus. |
Throwback:Look, myopia in this case is a subjective concept. Where your vision explains a number to be "6", mine might just as well be seeing "9". Whether the protests are financially induced or militarily coerced, is not for you and me to determine from the comforts of our bedrooms. Through the litany of coups we had in Nigeria, which African country ever made attempts to invade us just to restore democracy? Using this Ecowas membership as a buffer for a display of overbearing tendencies, is a joke that's beginning to smell beyond the roof of sanity. Best anyone can do is apply diplomacy. No association or organisation or country has the right to invade Niger republic to restore democracy. That is a recipe for disaster, no matter how you choose to dice it. |
SocialJustice:I'm an illiterate who just figured out how best to use words to convey properly formed perspectives. I reckon that puts a smile on your face? Good. Now take several seats behind. There are other sane people I'll rather have breathing into my face. |
kayperry:Should you choose to rephrase this message and address me more appropriately, I'll inundate you with a befitting response. Until that happens, have fun conversing with your mirror. |
Minjim:I haven't mentioned Nigeria in any of my submissions. As of this very moment, the junta in Niger republic enjoys the widespread support of the citizens, and that's enough legitimacy. Ecowas or AU are in no place to seek to invade a sovereign country simply because of that country's membership in an ordinary association that can be dispensed with in a matter of days. Nothing justifies that proposed display of silliness. |
Minjim:Legitimacy of any government is conferred by the governed. If the citizens of that country felt the junta was not in their best interest, they'd have protested against it from day one. They've rather been doing the exact opposite. And that to any sane mind, is legitimacy enough, in this case. |
Minjim:Oga, you don't need to insult me. I may well be above you in age. We're not here to debate on the merits or otherwise, of governmental systems. Whether military rule is evil or not does not change the fact that the citizens of Niger republic are in tacit support of the current military leadership. It's a colossal waste of mind space for you to sit here and be bothered about the goings-on in another man's country, given the plethora of challenges you currently have in yours. |
Minjim:It's like some of you are forgetting the actual meaning of the ECOWAS acronym. Go and read the mission statement that describes the purpose(s) for which Ecowas was formed. This obsession with this Ecowas nonsense is becoming irritating. Being a willing member of a neighbourhood association does not give any neighbour the audacity to invade your home and attempt to decide how you run your family. |
Kay25:Ecowas membership is strictly a matter of "freedom of association". It should not be a template upon which the sovereignty of any participating member state is undermined. It won't take more than 24hours for any country to pull out of the Ecowas bloc. So let that not be a yardstick for anyone to stretch the limits of already set boundaries. |
Throwback:Whether legitimate or not, the citizens of Niger republic have strongly given their support to the military Junta. That is all the legitimacy they need to get things done. Earlier today, there was yet another massive rally in support of the Junta. It would amount to folly for anyone else to attempt going against the will of the masses. |
Them go beat this Shehu Sani one day..😂! |
mariahAngel:Whether they can be trusted or not is not in anyone's place to question. It's their country for crying out loud! |
mariahAngel:A new democratic dispensation. |
LMAO! These Ecowas countries must think themselves to be lords over Western Africa. It's the audacity with which they're trying to make decisions for a sovereign country, that has me in stitches. |
You have to admit, whoever did this particular photo-edit is good. |
The betrayal would surely go round.. ! E remain Tambuwal. |
Has the drug Lord stopped his own life pension from Lagos state coffers..😂? Don't even know why anyone should take one look at that incompetent sadist in Aso rock and expect him to fight corruption. |
