What I'm about to tell you happened yesterday in town when I went to use my ATM at a Diamond bank branch. I walked into the ATM booth with a friend of mine Daniel.

We were quite discouraged at the crowd outside waiting to withdraw money, but compared to the previous banks we've checked out, the number of people seemed a little bit lesser, so we stayed put.

A few minutes into when I joined the queue, I noticed most people were leaving their positions to join other lines. I asked the middle aged man standing in front of me what was going on. He told me, "This ATM rejects every Diamond Bank Card."

I was with a Diamond Bank card and after listening briefly to some others complain about that particular machine, I quickly got to the front and told Daniel jokingly, "I know I'm usually lucky in this kind of situation."

Then I put in the card, put in my password and voila! The options for cash amount appeared and I withdrew my money and left in no time. Other people who had left the line earlier on with a Diamond Bank Card started rushing back to queue up.

I looked at them, thought about it a little, smiled and left with Daniel.

People usually forget that things change! What doesn't work for someone else might just work for you. It might be during your own attempt that something may change, but how do you find out if you don't even try? It might just be during your own attempt that an unforeseen opportunity might just turn up.

Don't be quick to accept negative results for yourself based on another person's results. You are different and your moment is different. That's why it's important to keep trying.

I don't really take popular opinion seriously, I like to find out things for myself. I'll rather try and fail, than not try at all.

So why do we easily follow the path of The general opinion? Why are we afraid to give our own shot to what some others have not succeeded in? The answer lies in the force of habit and herd mentality. We naturally want to follow the crowd and believe what the crowd believes.

The funny thing is that when you go against the crowd and discover something, the crowd then follows you. Winners carve out their own path. Winners think differently. They don't just accept theories, they verify them.

Stop believing anything negative that you're told by anybody. There is this thing called a success mindset. A mind that doesn't take No for an answer. A person with such a mindset is unstoppable.

Always try and keep trying even where others have failed. The worst that could happen is that you fail, then so what? At least you tried, rather than accept failure without an attempt. The best thing? You could get lucky and make massive success, then the herd follows.

Hi guys, life is indeed harder for the average Nigerian. Even to make simple online payment is hard. I just found out how useless my Nigerian MasterCard and Visa cards really are online, even though there was money in them. We're even restricted to make payment? Na Waa o!
If you have any easy means of making payment in foreign currency online with a credit card without spending too much in creating a domiciliary account first, kindly share your methods.

#1 Don't care too much about what people would say or think


Many unhappy people are always worried about what people are thinking or saying about them. This makes them feel timid and reluctant to try out some things which could transform their lives.

Worrying about the opinions of other people won't change anything. You can never be sure of what anybody is thinking or saying behind your back, so why bother?

#2 Love Yourself the way you are

It is very important that you love yourself. Even the Holy Book said we should love our neighbors just as WE love ourselves. This means that it is imperative to love yourself FIRST, because this is how you'll be loving others.


Unhappiness stems from making the huge mistake of loving other people first without genuine love for ourselves. We must start by loving ourselves the way we are which includes our physical looks, our sincere efforts to learn and our mannerisms.

#3 Always build or create value

An idle man they say is the devil's workshop. Idleness leads to unhappiness. You cannot be idle and be happy. Happiness comes from that joy knowing that you are actively contributing your efforts in creating a value and solving problems.

Look around you, The happy people are those who are busy engaging with the world. The unhappy ones are lazy snubs who don't want to offer value to the world.

#4 Occasionally do things for others

Look my friend, the world only cares about what you can offer. The happy man is the one who provides and who creates what people need. When you do things for other people, they will always have the urge to reciprocate and help you in your time of need.

The world is not all about yourself alone. We need each other. There are times you will need help and your true happiness in those trying periods comes from knowing that you have people who can also help you.

#5 Strong faith in God

I know some of you might contend with this, but belief in that higher power which controls all things is a key to happiness. Life has a mysterious purpose which we may never know for sure.

Belief in God strengthens you in times of trouble and let's you know that everything is under perfect control as long as you play your part. Knowing that everything is guided by law would keep you positive and focused on taking actions knowing that the rewards are sure to come.

#6 Pay attention to little things

Little things matter a lot. That "Thank You" you say when you're done a favor, the little text message you send to a friend, relative or guardian, how you carefully prepare your food, the way you say "I love you" etc

All these little things matter. Negligence of little things matter in our lives and play a role in our happiness. Not doing a simple thing could lead to a catastrophic outcome capable of making us depressed, sad and full of regret.

#7 Do what you really love

Most people are unhappy because they're doing what they don't love to do. When you're doing what you don't love to do, you stress yourself easily and exert your energy unnecessarily. You find yourself constantly looking forward to when that activity will end.

The solution? Simply, do what you really want to do. It might be hard at first, but quit whatever you really hate and embrace the inner yearning of your soul. Embrace your passion and stop caging it.

#8 Make some money

Yeah, that sounds funny, but I tell you what; there's nothing more joyful than counting a couple of bucks from your hard earned cash. When you're pocket is full, you're automatically happy because you can afford anything.

#9 Learn to say No without feeling guilty

This is very important for most of us. We find it hard to say No to the things that we don't want to do. Either we're trying to please somebody or we're trying to look like good people to everyone. Guess what? No one cares about those imaginary qualities.

When you can't say No to people, you will be unhappy because you're doing things you do not really want to do for them. People only care about what they can get from you whether it makes you happy or not. So, for the sake of your happiness, say "No" when you have to say it and don't make any explanation.

#10 Be yourself and never give up!

Last but not the least is to always be yourself. Don't be afraid to be who you truly are. The best person you can be in this world is yourself. Stop trying to be somebody else. You are enough and you are complete the way you are. Just try to discover what you have been endowed with and make this world better with it.

Also, never ever give up on your dreams and visions. Never ever stop believing and never stop trying. Keep pushing and keep moving forward. No matter how many times you fall, get up, dust your butt with pride and keep moving. You will surely get there. Trust me. Consistency is all it takes.

Some people believe that they don't have control over how their life turns out. Some others think that what will be will be, so why bother to take any action? Others believe that they are destined to live a particular kind of life and no matter what they do, they are fated for a particular thing.

Well, there are also those who believe that they can change the course of their lives by the step by step actions they choose to take and I belong to this school of thought.

Let me ask you a question: If you want to drink water, do you hope that somehow by destiny and chance, the water would come to you? If you're hungry, do you believe that 'what will be will be' and stay hungry or do you do something to get food ready?

Our lives are a function of activity. For you to live comfortably and obtain anything , you must take action to get it. You must work for it and show that you deserve it. That's when it comes to you.

Those who believe in fate, destiny, chance and 'what will be will be' are actually losers who don't want to take any action or responsibility over their lives. They use these things to give themselves excuses as regards why they fail. They've got to understand that the reason why they fail is that they are not determined enough to put in required action to get what they want.

Winners don't believe in destiny or chance, winners are committed to do the single thing they need to do in order to attain success and that is to "consistently do the required work. "

But some will ask, "we've been doing the work, why are we not getting results?" If you're not getting results, you're either not passionate about what you do, impatient or you've not put in enough work required to excel.

You have a choice to live the life you want or to join the mediocre ones who always cry about their environment or the government. The problem is not your dad, mom, school, government, girlfriend, boyfriend, brother, sister, country bla bla... The problem is YOU, YOU, YOU, YOU!

It's you and only you. You've got to accept that if you want to be free. You have the right to make a choice to live your life to the fullest. Do you hate what you're currently doing? Then quit! It's simple "quit" and do what you love. If you'll say "but if I quit I will not save enough money for bla bla..." Then you're just not ready. If you want freedom, you must cut out all the nonsense you don't need.

Don't allow anything tie you down. If you don't like to do anything, then don't do it! Stop giving yourself reasons why you should do what you clearly know deep down that you don't want to do.

People are complaining and crying everywhere that they don't like what they do, but they still go ahead to do it. It's their choice and they have to take whatever comes with it.

Always be conscious of the fact that you have a choice always. The only reason for whatever is going on in your life that you like or don't like has been you! Tell yourself the truth about what you really want out of life and stop wasting time doing stuff you don't like.

The Choice has always been yours.

Some of the fastest ones finished solving the questions in one minute and submitted their answer booklets quickly while beaming with smiles.

Other ones had already finished and we're cross checking to make sure they failed none of these easy questions. At the end of the test, the guy(who later got the job) submitted a blank sheet. It was later outside the exam hall that he pointed out to the other applicants that the very last instruction written on the exam paper was "Do NOT answer any question."

Funny, isn't it? Like the other nine applicants, some of us are too eager to succeed that we don't pay close attention to the things we do. We tend to run into problems, fail, fight and argue unnecessarily simply because of this.

I have to agree with the philosopher Heraclitus who proposed that "Change is the only constant thing." Life is in a constant state of flux and nothing is set on stone. For you to notice this change and be prepared for it, you must be very observant, otherwise it takes you by surprise.

When you pay attention, the attention pays you back! It lets you gather better knowledge and understanding of reality which keeps you one step ahead of your game.

The reason most people don't pay attention and consequently miss out on golden opportunities is simply that they think they have figured it all out. They think they know the pattern, therefore they are taken by surprise when the common pattern suddenly changes. They suffer because they are unprepared for it.

If you pay attention in anything you do, you will never be taken by surprise. You will flow with life during its lows and highs. You will enjoy the ride because you're not swimming against the tide by holding onto old things that pass away.
