thedarkened:That means her body is not up for it. It could be due to all the sickness ,tiredness and many other ailments that comes with being pregnant. This just simply means you have to step up as a man and relieve her of stress where she needs it. That way are body will be more receptive of the idea of intercourse. Massage her often, be there for her when she is sick, help with shores and assure her she and baby are okay. Basically her body is trying to return to factory setting (lol), so you too have to try not to let that happen by wooing her the way you did when you wanted to get intimate with her when dating. Be gentle and kind,Gift and money 💰 is not a bad idea either. When you get your way, be gentle and consistent with your attitude. This advise is for mature minds, who understand the duty of being in a relationship and marriage. In relationship and marriage, things will happen that you will have to re-date your partner again (use the same effort you will use to get someone else outside). And trust me it will get you two through many hard times. I read somewhere that " A pregnant woman never forgets the way she was treated during pregnancy, during childbirth and after birth". And I totally agree, I have had 4 pregnancies, and the way I was treated by husband is one of the reasons we are still together. |
thedarkened:All through the pregnancy as long as you both are up for it and you've not been advised medically to stop. |
Timitoyo:Congratulations. This is inspiring. |
nky4success:I think stress , having a lot to do and on your mind can contribute to this. If you don't already, try to let someone take care of the baby more often if it is possible. Also let someone else help with your chores. I believe if you have less to worry about, your body will relax. I know it is not easy but try it. Express milk in bottles if breastfeeding, so anyone around can feed the baby.Play soothing sleeping music, there are lot on YouTube to help set the mood whenever you want to sleep be it morning, afternoon or night. Since you have tried medication, then I believe you need help and support from your partner/friends/family. |
yumyogo:You are truly strong , may God be with you and your children. Congratulations. |
Good morning everyone, please what cream and soap are you using for your baby who is pron to eczema? - All my kids suffer from eczema and dry skin. Don't want this baby to have the same, my toddler is already have dark patches if anyone has any tried and tested remedy please share. |
Timitoyo:Congratulations |
indian03:Is this a common thing ? I suffered from it too.Had to be prescribed a stronger painkiller to help. |
1stymom:For me , until I stopped breastfeeding completely I didn't get pregnant. He was about 14 months and he was already eating solids and other toddler meals. Good luck |
kosi2018:Thank God for you both. You will unite with your princess very soon by God's grace. Congratulations and stay strong mama. You did it. |
stanvesco:I realised I didn't upload the full story, I have done that. In regards to Uterine rupture, it is the same percentage for viginal and CS. In some case CS is even higher with other complications that can arise from a major surgery. |
More like FREEBIRTH AFTER 3 TRAUMATIC EMERGENCY CESAREANS(FA3TEC). My birth story, My experience... Birth story; Shortest version (Still working on the longer one). But just thought this might help someone in the meantime. PS; I know this is an abroad birth story but i hoped you all will receive it well . It might not be relatable but it can be empowering - Pregnancy went on smoothly with no complications. Did all the test and scans no problem. What I did different this time around was refused to be consultant led . In UK, once you've one CS or more you can't be midwife led. I pushed seeing the consultant (doctor) till about 38weeks . And of course they suggested CS, for reason other than My previous births were CS. And it will be best for both of us. They convinced me to book one for 40weeks and 3 days. When the day arrived I didn't turn up cos I was already getting few contractions here and there but nothing major. They gave me another date, but I insisted they should give me a date when I am over 42 weeks. So they found a date for Tuesday when I will be 42 weeks 4 days . On Sunday, went for pre op; they took blood samples. I requested for a cervical check, they declined saying consultant wrote it in my note(meaning they don't want to offer me any help other than the CS). I felt defeated leaving the hospital, tears rolling down my eyes while curb walking. Just I stopped for a car to pass by, the lady driver popped her head out of the car and said "Keep going you can do this ". Chai that brought more tears and I said to myself can I really do this. Well wiped my tears before getting to hubby in the cafe, I googled Starbucks labour drink and I ordered large. We had a nice chat, walked for over an hour buying groceries mainly things I will take to hospital to eat after the CS. BIRTH; Got home ,we ate and watched movie with the kids. Everybody's mind was settled knowing the baby will come on Tuesday via elective CS. So we were alot more relaxed, watched TV and just had a nice family time. Meanwhile I just thought to myself why not try one last thing which I knew about but I had tries way too early in the last Pregnancy but just had false labour. I said to myself the worst that can happen is have false contractions and it will stop before I head to bed. WELL THAT DID NOT HAPPEN THIS TIME. 30th of April 2023 - 5:22 pm; 60ml caster oil, blended with 1 cup of brewed raspberry leaf tea , and 1 pinapple core and cup of water. With ice - finished at 5;50 pm - diaharria(sorry TMI) 3 times - contraction begins at 10:20pm - I set up diffuser with clary sage oil to intensify contractions. - By 11 pm I was in the bath and hubby was using shower pressure on my back cos Contractions was crazy. I had only had paracetamol when contractions started and was using my breathing techniques and listening to meditation I saw on YouTube. - While in the bath on all fours, I heard a pop and told hubby I think my water 💧 just broke and he said I think so too oh cos the bath water has changed. It has some mucus and very small bloody show. All these has never happened to us before, but I knew at that moment no going back now. We are definitely having this baby. I was only having as little as 30secs btw strong contractions. We had a toddler who refused to sleep as was distracted and as well fascinated by mummy screaming her head off cos at this point breathing technique no work. - I told hubby to call the hospital, in my head I was thinking how will I sit in the car with this crazy contractions. But good thing is hubby called the ambulance instead and they were telling him what to do . The next thing I heard him say when he checked down below is, I can see hair. In my head I was like you say what? That was when I knew I was definitely having this baby. I was screaming "God help me God help me" , I intentionally knew I didn't want to say words like " I can't do this". - Ambulance on his way, hubby on the phone with them .He cut the phone cos he felt they were distracting him but they called back saying he has to be on the phone until Ambulance arrives. His responses on the phone on what is happening down below was what I was using as my motivation. He told them I can see the head, but the head only pops out when she is having a contraction and head pops back in when contraction stops( which was 15 secs) at this point. That was when I realised I was actually pushing my baby out. That huge ,massive pressure I was feeling down there was a head pushing its way out. Still in all fours , Ambulance came and they were all guys (I heard their voices) . One passed me gas and air, used it once and I got relieved but as soon as the contraction was getting strong I was off the gas and my body did the pushing. They kept telling me what was happening and just as all the head was out a lady paramedic arrived. I heard the guy paramedic say thank God a female is hear. She encouraged me to push in the next contraction and I did. And just like that the rest of the body came out. I felt it come out and the relief I felt was beyond amazing. Hubby cut the cord and I was on gas and air still in all fours. It took me 15 mins to deliver the placenta and I felt it come out too. - started pushing at 00:15am - birth 00:49am (Monday 1st of May) - placenta 15 mins later So it was a crossover birth. - birth 00:49am (Monday 1st of May) - placenta 15 mins later - Baby size; 4.180kg(over 9 lbs). My biggest baby ever So it was a crossover birth. Through out pregnancy, no sweep , no cervical check. During labour; No cervical dilation check, no baby monitor. And my body did its thing. I went into this with a lot of research and informed decision knowing fully well I was healthy and baby was healthy. My iron level was amazing, nutrition level was amazing and mentally I was prepared. The only thing I never prepared for was giving birth at home without midwives present. Or having a very short labour even though I drank a lot of raspberry leaf tea, drank blended pineapple with core, ate dates ,drank ewedu juice as least once a week towards the end and bath with herbal soap(from nigeria elewe omo) to help soften my body for birth. Alot of meditation and positive Hypnobirthing videos too. |

I said hello to the lady paramedic, and I said nice to see your face and she said well nice to see your face too 😉 have only met your ASS . We both laughed. I showered, put on a Rob and I saw the rest of the guys thanked them. I walked down the stairs (something you can never do after CS). And just went to the hospital with the baby do see everything was fine. Everything was fine , had a tiny tiny first degree tear No stitch needed as it will heal itself.( I should have had that ewedu at the last minute). I got back home same day by 2pm . iamfertile:@iamfertile; You are strong, you are beautiful and you've got this.Your body will birth when ready. You are not helpless , we are here. I totally understand what you are going through and I have been there. I have said it over and over again Hospitals do not have much to offer. If your water has not broken yet, please believe me when I say you can leave the hospital and return back home.Ask questions about your dilation, your amiotic fluid level and the baby heart rate. If everything is fine, you can leave and continue to contract at home. You are not in active labour yet and your body needs time that is all. Please if everything is fine medically, go and labour at home. The thing some of us labour for days before reaching full dilation. And it takes a while for our baby to engage. Hospital does not have that patience. I repeat your baby might not just be ready yet, contractions is your womb getting ready to birth. Sometimes it takes days sometimes it takes couple of weeks. Manage pain with calm environment, Hypnobirthing videos on YouTube and paracetamol. And continue your exercise. |
Coloredsg:I understand, I have seen one squeeze out the juice with little water. And I have seen one where she put the ewedu leaves in the blender. So it will be great to see from mums here on exactly the method that worked. That way other pregnant women will have something to see on nairaland. |
Please can anyone share a video of how they prepare their ewedu for labour. |
trevolady:Congratulations once again, glad mum and child is doing great. That is great to know. We are here to learn. Although some women say they didn't do anything, but they've been staying active like visiting family or running errands and having sex. We count those as normal things but they do sometimes contribute to starting contractions. May the rest of us give birth safely |
trevolady:Congratulations, did you do anything or labour just came on its own? |
Coloredsg:Please, if I blend the ewedu do I still have to filter it before drinking. What I did today - 1 cup of ewedu leaf (semi fresh) been in fridge for over a week. - washed and blended it with very little water to make ewedu juice - Drank it without filtering it. The only thing I noticed is, it had very little slim .Does that matter? |
Hello everyone, How did you prepare your ewedu for easy delivery ?What was the ratio of water and ewedu? And what month/ gestation week did you start and how regular did you drink it weekly? |
iamfertile:I had a scan too on Monday at 32 weeks 3 days and the sonographer was confused to why I was booked for a scan. She said they wrote in my note that my last baby was small which was complete lie(I guess the consultant had to write a genuine reason so the scan can be booked). I think it is a decision made by the doctor in charge of your care, he/she might like continious scan to make sure they monitor baby for their peace of mind. It is not normal but it happens. Yes , it is ultrasound scan . - Not all legs/feet gets swollen, sometimes it happens towards the very end. If you are healthy and active it might never happen. It is a good sign if you don't have it. Wish us all safe delivery |
Shetos:Your story and many stories have convinced me that doctors do not know how to deliver babies and are not willing to help find suitable ways to deliver babies. I think they believe it is a waste of their professional time. Surgery is much more exciting and intriguing to them. Please, you and your wife should find a hospital that supports viginal birth since that is what you both want. And you clearly stated she has no health issues. You both read and watch videos on how pregnant women with twins are preparing themselves for viginal delivery. Visit herbal shops and ask them questions on herbs that aid viginal delivery. They will show you all the herbs and they will explain their functions to you. Make sure you pick the herbs urself and prepare them yourself. You can decide on the concentration yourself. The truth is, these days you have to advocate for viginal delivery and you have to prepare your body for viginal delivery when it comes to hospital. As they believe it is only CS they can use to reduce mortality rate. So they won't help you with any exercise, perennial massage or labour positions. Their own is to monitor mother and child, and deliver baby ( either by CS or Vg). So the major work is for you and your wife. |
I just wanted to share some few words with my fellow preggers. I respect people that have Elective CS and Emergency CS. I have had 3 Emergency CS myself, due to prolonged labour .Had to recover with no family support ...But I have come to realise many CS are done in order for the hospital to free beds(personal experience). I see many people suggesting CS casually on this platform like it is not a major surgery . But the truth of the matter is, it is a major surgery. And it was introduced to safe lives in a critical and serious situation. I am pleading with everyone that do not have a serious medical reason and have not made up their mind on CS to not let anyone pressure them into CS or accept CS cos it was casually suggested CS to them as the new norm. Many in the West are using many traditional herbs to induce and promote good , healthy ,less traumatic and natural labour. They travel all across the world to get this herbs. We have it in Nigeria, please find out about them. Also I envy people in Nigeria who have good weather to go to beaches, visit family and parties . Use that towards the end of your pregnancy to while away time . You can do it!!!! Education is key , peer pressure and peer influence is real in all ages. Stay strong. Will share my stories later on this platform. |
Debbieeeeeee:I am not recommending giving birth in where you are not comfortable with. But I strongly recommend using our local herbs and vegetables. You can to check how it is working by going for scan and testing in the hospital. All I am saying is , it is time for pregnant women to start taking more power of their pregnancy where medical can not help. |
Cutiemama:Have you tried the local birthing centres in Nigeria. I am not saying you should give birth there but they surely have ways to turn a breech baby. Using herbs and massages depending on how good they are. Hospitals can be useless sometimes , all they do is test, scan and write medication. They offer no real help with making vg delivery possible than offer cs. Solutions for everything is; Breech baby - Cs Labour not progressing- Cs Everything or anything that is not in their book- Cs As pregnant women, we have a lot to do to prep our body for labour. As Nigerians, I will say we are lucky to have many local natural herbs. Please use them. As simple as ewedu, okra, pawpaw water and much more.Ask professional local birthing centre, they exist. I have 1 or 2 if interested. I have consulted with them during my pregnancy and they know alot. |
Debbieeeeeee:This is a valid question most induction are given based on them wanting to keep experimenting their drugs or the convinience of the hospital having one less pregnant woman to worry about. Under weight is not a reason for induction , you even want the baby to be full term so they can weigh more. |
Cibel59:Try to distract yourself and please try those things I have mentioned. As long as the doctors did not say there is anything wrong with you or the baby. When they induce you, they use artificial medicine to start labour. In my case they usually just break my water and just monitor me.They give 24 hours and if no progress then CS. From experience, they don't help you they just monitor you and might force you to be in bed which does not help labour. Visit family, friends, rest or party if you like and baby will come soon. All not too far from home, but try doing things you won't be able to do once baby arrives. But please prepare your body with natural herbs to help smoothen labour. You are strong mama. |
Cibel59 Try take okra water or ewedu water. Also herbal shops will definitely have remedy. Induction is quite invasive and artificial and might take too long as your body is not ready for labour. And could lead to CS. Natural remedies and sex should be tried first. Hang in there ,we are here for you. |
