claremont: Unfortunately, your current ranking puts you at a Corporal cadre at best when converted to British. You are still a relatively junior nco. When you manage to get commissioned into Officer cadre, we might continue the discussion on the rationale for brutality in recruit training. There is no such thing as humane training in any military camp anywhere in the world, this isn't the boy's scouts.
Until then, stop saying you are the BEST in anything, because you aren't. You might be the best funded, but it takes more than funding to be the best military. This is my last post on this as I wouldn't want to derail this thread by typing out the long litany of failures by the US Army in response to your brainwashed ''we are the best'' claims.
I have served with your 82nd Airborne unit, I know your airborne unit in and out. You are not the best in anything. Junior NCO? After the rank of SFC is Master SGT and then SGT Major. And the ranking system is not what this is about? And i am seriously beginning to doubt if you ever served. You do not sound like a soldier at all at all. You people won't die of lies on NL. |

So its now a legislators job to build bridges abi? do you know what she has done for her community before she got into politics? did you ask yourself how a woman who had no political background achieve that? like i said again... you must be mad. nobody in nigeria thinks anymore before talking..the poverty and stupidity and beclouded your sense of reasoning! Lol. Calm down. Go back to whatever educational certifications you have and look at it again to see if it is worth having because it/they have failed you. Does she not have a constituency that she takes care of? She knows this and should have been lobbying to get funds to take care of such things. Plus, posting online her personal life like that is insensitive to foools like you who dwell in a dilapidated country. Your leaders don't give a phuck about you and the reason is because they know you all don't know how things are done. People like you i mean. claremont: Historically, military training has always been brutal, the rationale for the brutality of basic military training is something civilians will never understand. You are put off because you saw the instructor holding a few whips? In a previous life, I trained with the British Airborne and was deployed to train alongside the American 82nd Airborne based in North Carolina, getting whipped during training is the very least of your worries. You should really be praying to get out of the training alive. It's military training, it's not designed to be fun. It's brutal and barbaric for a reason. Soldiers who chose to vent out their 'frustration' on civilians isn't due to the training, it's simply because they represent a few poorly disciplined bad eggs. I don't know about historically but as of today, i am a Sergeant First Class type in the United States Army and any Non Commissioned officer who engages in hazing is automatically relieved of position, reduced in rank and most likely dismissed from service. The world has moved beyond training soldiers to be brutes. 50% of any battle is mental and not physical. I am part of the best military in the world and we are the best not because they flogged us in training. We are the best because they instill discipline through planning and humane training. We are professionals and should act like one. |

Let me give you all one very serious advice. Your best bet as a people is to go out into the world and find someone of Nigerian descent who has never lived nor grew up in Nigeria to come and lead you. There is not one single person right now in Nigeria who can lead the country effectively. Why? Because every single person in Nigeria has been tainted psychologically. |

And he had the nerve to post it online for all the world to see. The things you all are used to scares the shiit outta right thinking human beings. |

stellx: It was unheard of during the military era that a " bloody-civillian" would have the effrontery to as much as fight a soldier not to talk of killing one.
Since the advent of democracy, the converse has been the case on an almost daily basis.
Here is a testament to my assertion below. You are longing for the military era for the wrong reasons. No one should ever want Authoritarian rule. That is just crazy. Let's take the US for example. Their military are hardly ever heard of in public not to mention been seen. I am not saying they don't go into the society for day to day activities but they are severely warned about infractions with civilians. They do their best to stay away from trouble with any civilian because if anything happens, 9 out of 10 times, they would be blamed. Their military are scared of civilians meanwhile in Nigeria, the civilians are scared of the military and that is wrong. Remember, civilian pays their salary. |

The impunity with which lives are taken in this country tells how cheap it has become.
Where did we go off the track?? This has nothing to do with the system of government you operate as a country. It does however have everything to do with the psychological make up of the average Nigerian. |
