It is a cabinet reshuffle that doesn't need Assembly screening or blessing. Green is already a serving Commissioner of Sports so he doesn't need to be screened again and the Assembly doesn't need any process(es) again.

The Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has made minor adjustments in his cabinet.

Fubara, in a decision during an executive meeting, redeployed the Commissioner of Sports Development, Barr. Christopher Green, to the Ministry of Justice.

It would be recalled that following the political crisis in the state, Fubara had dissolved the members of his cabinet that were affected by the Supreme Court judgement on the political crisis in the state.

The development had affected the then Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of the state.

But the governor’s move to have an attorney general has moved Green, who was serving as Commissioner for Sports, to the Ministry of Justice as the Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice.

This is contained in a statement signed by Dr Honour Sirawoo, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Communications.

The statement noted that Barr Green would also continue to coordinate the activities of the Ministry of Sports pending the appointment of a substantive commissioner to oversee the ministry.

The redeployment, which takes immediate effect, was approved at the last State Executive Council meeting for the year 2025, underscoring the governor’s commitment to strengthening governance, ensuring continuity in service delivery, and optimising the performance of key ministries within the state.

Every state has their own kind of politics, Rivers is not an exception.

There were bigger players in Rivers politics before Wike and there must be others after Wike, no champion forever.

Your idea of best minister is someone who's always in the news. If not, who did you access Tinubu's ministers and come to the conclusion that Wike is the best?

Tinubu did not make reckless statements about Ambode as Wike is doing now, and working against whom the APC chooses is working against the leader of the APC which is Tinubu.

So like I said before, Wike will be the one dumping himself once he starts going against the APC's interest and in politics, only interest is permanent.

Let nobody shout used and dumped once that happens.

Nobody is dumping Wike, rather Wike is the one dumping himself. He should learn when to keep quiet or pretend to be quiet.

Fubara is now in APC, whether he get the return ticket is now the decision of APC and APC alone, not someone from another party because of a little privilege given to that person.
