I'm in support of their prosecution. The irony is that some of the people running the U.S. government are guilty of such, but the FBI has refused to act. The evidence is literally in the infamous Epstein files. The rules don't apply to the powerful.

Jonathan's adminstration collapsed because of his monumental failures. There was also a strong and organised opposition ready to take power from him. Just because we aren't seeing that level of energy now doesn't mean what happened in the past was a regime change stunt.

It was not a regime change stunt. People just say anything. Who is stopping anyone from mobilising now? Momentum change.

Everything about him is questionable. A walking national security threat. Very unfortunate.

It's always surprising how people like you arrogantly display ignorance here. Even a foreigner knows how insecure the North is, but because you haven't personally been affected, you dismissed it.

Communities are attacked, with some of their residents fleeing. They are kidnapped and killed. The lucky ones manage to pay ransom and are released. Only few are rescued by the government, even then same payments are involved.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the “historic transaction more than doubles American oil reserves” and “will substantially lower gas prices for all Americans”.

“At my direction, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, working closely with Highly Respected Interim President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodriguez, and, through a partnership with private business, have secured majority US control of more than 65 BILLION BARRELS of proven Oil Reserves in Venezuela, at no cost to the American Taxpayer,” Trump wrote.

Venezuela’s interim President Delcy Rodriguez welcomed the deal, which is expected to bring about $209bn to the state’s treasury.

The announcement followed weeks of negotiations over an agreement that would give American companies long-term access to a group of Venezuelan oilfields and guarantee the resulting crude supply to the US.

Venezuelan officials are preparing to sign agreements next week granting new oil exploration and production rights to a number of companies, particularly US firms.

Sources previously told Reuters news agency that a lease model was under consideration, with fields potentially auctioned to US producers, but the arrangement could face legal and constitutional challenges in Venezuela, where the state retains control over core oil industry activities.

The new deal would represent a dramatic expansion of Washington’s role in Venezuela’s oil industry as the Trump administration seeks to revive the country’s production and secure more crude for US refineries. Venezuela holds the world’s largest proven oil reserves, but produces only 1.25 million barrels per day, far below its potential after years of underinvestment, mismanagement and sanctions.

Trump did not disclose the structure of the agreement, the fields or companies involved, nor how the US would exercise majority control over the reserves.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio described the agreement as a win for both countries, saying on X that it would secure stable, low-cost oil for the US and help lower petrol prices.

For Venezuela, Rubio said the deal would bring nearly $100bn in private investment, support thousands of high-paying jobs and help rebuild the country’s economy.

Nigerians pay taxes, regarding the percentage who do is a different thing. You also have high levels of poverty in the country. So what do you even want to tax? No country taxes its way to prosperity. Corporations pay taxes. I don't know about the high net worth individuals. Nevertheless, Nigeria is rich in resources, how well have they been used? Can you honestly say the revenues from our resources like oil and gas have been properly utilised? Now taxation is the latest excuse from people who are not even transparent about their records.

A full emergency service in a typical UK city costs between £150 million and £400 million annually. Enugu state health budget is 52,735.84 pounds. Una see the problem?

Can the Nigerian government account for the efficient utilisation of our resources? Barely anything works. Taxation is not the problem or solution. CIA Director John Ratcliffe traveled to Moscow overnight to meet with Russian officials, a US official familiar with his travel told CNN.

The official declined to share the substance of the meetings or the topics set to be discussed.

None of the V.P candidates in all the political parties currently in the race can hold a candle to Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi. Amaechi is a presidential material. He's a tested and trusted achiever! Evidence plenty. Even Sowore is his boy in student unionism, and I'm sure they are all just catching fun.

Any reasonable Nigerian should be able to admit that Amaechi is a competent leader. The records speak for themselves. Even while he was a Speaker in the House of Assembly, he led his counterparts across the country. Then replicated the same thing as a governor.

The only problem which unreasonable people have with him is that he defeated Jonathan. That's all.

I listened to all of them. Amaechi is the only one I can confidently stand behind. He clearly knows how he wants to fix the country. Adebayo somewhat, but he has no experience in government.

The confidence Amaechi exudes comes from his achievements. He is a man who can point to what he accomplished while in government.

Nigeria is a funny country indeed.

The U.S. government can do that, but they don't care. America's interest is what matters. They want a puppet.

It is an unfortunate situation. However, I will state that looting, mismanagement of resources and others, rank higher than this issue of vandalism, if we are looking at public trust and concern for paying taxes.

The problem I see here is the lack of will by the government to enforce our laws. It is not yet seen as a priority. Unpatriotic lot. Maybe because they are too busy looting our resources to care. Another contract will be awarded. So the cycle of underdevelopment continues.

If not, why will a responsible government close its eyes to things like this? It is a shame.
