If they aren't answering the Emails. Your spouse could resort to sending them letters. Letters are more likely to be replied than Emails. This whole reunion journey as someone rightly said requires alot of Patience and prayers. Nonetheless the spouse in Germany can keep bombarding them with letters. bashito: He has written lots of emails too o. The o my one they replied was the first one he wrote them and they told him to send some documents. Since then, they just went quiet. No reply to mails or calls. I'm just tired. |

Except you are already a German citizen, for any stay longer than 6 Months outside Germany, you might loose your residence permit. I doubt if you will be allowed access into the embassy even as the spouse. BigBoy123: Please my wife applied for Family reunion in Feb 2021,so we are expecting a date soon. My company just approved that I can run home office from Nigeria for the whole of 2022(till my family get their visas). I want to find out if my presence in Nigeria will fasten her process, like going to the interview with her or when the Abh want to check my documents, I can send them from Nigeria. What do you guys think? What exactly does the Abh ask from the partners in Germany? |

Thanks for the reply. Please how did you get your appointment date since I noticed there has been no dates available since a month I keep checking the website? My statement was "it seems .........". So it wasn't a definite statement but an assumption. QueenieDar: I booked appointment day before yesterday for Germany tourist visa application on 3rd Jan. Please where did you get info they're no longer processing tourist visa at the moment? |

Hello people,
considering the present Pandemic, I'd like to know which other European countries aside Germany are still open for visitors visa applications ( Schengenvisa) from Nigeria?
Which of these EU countries offer the best services and have less cumbersome route for Nigerian applicants?
N.b the actual final destination is Germany ( they seem not to be processing tourist visas at the moment).
Thanks. |

Concerning your 2nd question, it all depends on where you reside in Germany. In my opinion, if the translation is for the purpose of changing your marital status in your city then a certified and authorized Translator needs to do it. If not, it might not be recognized. Enquire more from your Foreign office or City Hall. Atopet: Hello,
1. For full vaccination taken in Nigeria holding the vaccination card, on arrival to Germany, can this be converted to the recognized Vaccination Certificate 2. Please advice on how to go about Germany translation of marriage certificate obtained in Nigeria, where can this be carried out in Germany.
Thank you for your reply |

Thanks alot for your honest input. I will be glad to read more experiences on this matter. Thanks. bashito: I have undergone the verification process and I know for a fact that the cost incurred by the lawyer at the process of verification is handled by his firm. That was why you paid 150k for the verification. You are not expected to pay him a Kobo.
The lawyer assigned to me actually requested for a bribe of 200k from me. He tried to manipulate me to pay the money by instilling fears in me that my records were not complete. He sent me the account number to send the money. I forwarded everything to my husband and he called his bluff! My records are absolutely complete. He told me to go to my schools one after the other and get all the records he got there. I did exactly that and I face my front.
Although I'm still waiting for my verification report, I have all my documents intact with me in case there is any issue. I will present them at the embassy and report him officially.
Note that, I have my records complete. I didn't play pranks at any point in time.
Good luck! |

Good Evening y'all,
Please I'd like to enquire from those who have undergone verification process in regards to reunion visa to Germany. Were you expected from the lawyer to Carter for his cost of displacements and accommodation for the various places he needs to go? Were you required to outright fund all his movements patterning the verification process? Aren't the lawyers commissioned by the embassy and therefore paid for the whole process? Did you all bribe the lawyers? If yes like how much? What happened to those who refused to bribe the lawyers?
Thanks for every input. |

I appreciate. The Tfl app doesn't seem to have the option to pay for a trip. Please how do I book a trip let's say from London city airport to Heathrow ahead of time?? Bluetherapy: I find Google maps more useful than citymapper and moveit. Google maps has the ability of showing you underground and overground platform numbers for trains which the apps I mentioned don't.
For tickets, thetrainline.com is the common place to go. Or simply google LCY to LHR for example.
In short, google maps to the rescue. |

If you are already in Germany and have a decent salary that can cater for your family they are already eligible for a reunion visa. The whole process is quite lengthy from Nigeria, so bring inn lots of Patience and prayer in the journey. Good luck. Atopet: Good Evening All,
I resumed 1st Sept 2021 as a Phd Researcher, sponsored like the DAAD with monthly pay and I have 2 kids, the eldest is 5yrs. Please when can my wife apply for Family Re-union and what are possible criteria to be met before applying for reunion? I have an apartment her in *** and have gotten my contract letter.
Secondly, how long in estimate does it take to get an appointment and is there any thing additionally that could be done to make the process easier like blocked account etc and how can I go about it?
I appreciate your response |

I am glad u succeeded in achieving goals. Only If you don't mind I've got some inquiries to make from you given that you're in the UK. Can I send you a pm please? EkeneMiriam: Hi everyone Just wanted to drop a message on how this went incase someone is in same situation as mine and would want answers based on where I applied from. So I sent a mail to the embassy but not no response that day.
I went ahead to book an appointment again with them on 3/8/21. I filled a new application form, got a special delivery envelope, and went with some documents. When my number was eventually called, I told the V/O I was not there for a new application but only wanted to change my travel date. I showed her my visa and she asked why I wanted to change the travel date (move the date backwards) and I told her family reasons. She went in to get my file and apparently speak to her boss. After everything I was told to pay a new application fee (which I was prepared for). I tried handing her my nea application form and other documents I had with me, she said it wasn't necessary. She told me the visa had been approved before and she has all the details she need so I only need to pay. She also said the new travel date will be the date of visa approval.
Long story cut short, I received the new visa which was dated 5/8/21 on 6/8/21. I just thank God I wasn't waiting for a response and I went ahead to book an appointment with them because till date I didn't get a response to the email I sent.
Thank you for all your help and support. And for all those still in this process, hang in there, it will soon be over. Love and Light❤️ |

Wow all thanks be to God. Congratulations dear. Hopefully we also receive a positive response soon. Patterning your question, did you indicate October as intending travel period while applying? If that is the case, it might be difficult to adjust it backwards . EkeneMiriam: Good morning Nairaland FAM,
Please I need your help. I applied for family reunion from the UK, the whole process took about 2 months and 1 week. I got my visa to the glory of God but the issue now is that the travel Date is in October and I want to move it backwards(Aug/Sept). Does anyone here know how it works please or had such an experience before or know anyone who has? Kindly help with an answer if you can.
Thank you. |

Good day y'all,
I'll like to make some inquiries about life in the UK. What benefits does someone with ILR have over a Tier 2 Visa holder? Are Tier 2 Visa holders eligible for childbenefits? Does the percentage of tax deduction reduce as couples start having kids? Can a family of 4 people( 2kids) be sustained solely on a Doctor's salary in the UK?
Thanks. |

Thanks alot for your reply. heybaby12: Yes the language Can be a barrier but since he said job is secured ,I would say Germany.
1) no school fees until the peak of the kids education
2) no extra hidden charges on health insurance for normal clinic waka sha.
3) you get off work anyhow with excuss of wanting to watch after your kids (don't over push It anyways)
In my opinion If job is secured I would pick Germany over and over again.
Oh and I forgot. Security is another added advantage
Ps. I never stay UK sha. So this is from my stay in Germany |
