My dear irrespective of the war the poster's spouse in Germany doesn't loose anything in enquiring from the Foreign office in Essen via Email or Letters. At times applying a little bit of pressure is recommendable, so they up their game. Didn't you read where he/she said the whole silence is affecting him/her mental state?
Your waiting for PR appointment is a totally different thing and its up to you what you do about that.

nuel80:

Since you live in Germany, you should Atleast know better that things takes time, I advise the poster to be patient, while her husband can only send mails or call them after each time.
I have been waiting for an appointment for PR for more than 3 months.
The times you had yours was probably before the war started between Russia and Ukrain, since those times, appointments takes longer in most offices. However, Essen is a city filled with lots of foreigners adding to the fact that they are under employed, these are some of the reasons for delays. Good luck to everyone waiting.

Hello dear,

I am in Essen and we did family Reunion visa here. In our case it took around 1 or maximum 2 Weeks. Your spouse in Germany should write or send them a Mail/ letter enquiring the stand of things, stating that you haven't been updated yet by the Embassy inNigeria.
By God's grace they will reply you soon.

Hello dear,

I have been meticulously following all directions but the system hasn't been releasing new interview slots for tourist visa at all. Upon enquiry they say they are fully book. Kind of confused. Can anyone please help??
Thanks.

heybaby12:

At midnight Sunday - Thursday. You have to be very intentional. Have all document details ready, refresh at exactly 12 and then you will see the next available dates. Usually three weeks ahead.

In the past weeks I have been able to book and cancel more than three times.

It is adviceable to use transparent zip lock Bags to pack ur food stuffs. You might be prohibited from travelling with palm oil ( few people pass through without wahala). Incase of the 'Ghana must go Bag' get the very strong type and get it wrapped at the airport if possible. Safe flight.

Has anyone an idea of whether or not Schengenvisa applicants could ever get a Schengenvisa of a longer validity than the usual 3 months ?
How possible is it to extend a Schengenvisa?

Thanks.

Just go to the embassy gate as soon as possible, preferably today. At that gate there are many vendors including DHL stand. They will do the prepaid envelope for you.

Good morning, this is quite urgent so I’d really appreciate a response soon. My interview is tomorrow and I would like to know the procedure for getting the prepaid freight envelope. Do I just walk into any DHL and ask for one? For reference I’m in Lagos and my interview is here in Lagos as well. Thank you!

She must get the travel health insurance regardless. I think your health insurance covers her only when she is already in Germany.

Hello guys, in preparation of my wife's arrival, I have already included her in my family health insurance here in Germany. Will the health insurance certificate issued here be accepted as the travel insurance that will be requested when she finally gets her visa approval mail or will I have to do another travel insurance in Nigeria ?

Congratulations to you. God is too faithful.

Please patterning the constant request for bribe from Lawyers assigned to do the verification. It will go a long way to ameliorate and stop that exorbitant extortation from fellow Nigerians in future, if those who have successfully gotten their Visas could write a complain to the embassy on their website.

bashito:
Finally, the torturous journey of getting a German National Visa for about 2 years ends today!

To God be the Glory!

When the journey seems longer than usual it is not always an indication that you have a problem.

Let me give you a highlight of my journey on this family reunion visa process.

I applied for a family reunion visa on the 28th July, 2020.

Received a mail for interview on the 8th July, 2021.

Had my interview on the 5th of August, 2021.

Lawyer called on the 4th September, 2021.

Lawyer visited on the 9th September, 2021. The lawyer tried to manipulate me to pay him 200k as bribe but my spouse called his bluff because I have complete documents. No issues.

We waited for the foreign office to contact my spouse but they didn't. So, we chose to contact them. He wrote them a mail on the 2nd of November, 2021 informing them of our application.

They responded on the 4th of November, 2021 and requested him to submit some documents.

He submitted these documents on the 12th of November, 2021.

Since then, we waited and waited and waited!

After the endless wait we started calling them at the foreign office and sending mails. No response to mails and no picking of calls.

Around January, 2022 they started picking calls. They informed us that the woman in charge of our file was sick and she just resumed. So we should expect a response in two weeks.

After 3 weeks, we called again and we learnt that the woman's health had gone very bad and she had gone off work. And our file would be given to someone else to handle.

We waited and called again. No definite answer. We are working on it nooni!

Then, 1st of March, 2022 the foreign office sent my spouse a mail. They apologised profusely for delaying our application because of shortage of staff and covid.
They informed us that the positive response had been sent to the embassy in Nigeria and we should contact them henceforth.

We called the Nigerian embassy again and they told us to send a mail and attach the response we got from Germany to it. This was done on 10th of March, 2022.

On the 15th March, 2022. Approval Mail sent to me.

Dropped documents in person at the consulate on the 16th of March, 2022.

Documents received back today, 31st March, 2022 with my Visa stamped on my passport. Dem grant their mama 6 months! grin grin grin

Note: My A1 expired on the 24th of January, 2022. I prayed they shouldn't request another one and it was answered.

Germany here we come o!

I'm open to questions.

God's speed to others that are still on the waiting list.

Please what do I do. I've applied for visa appointment with the German consulate since July last year and I'm yet to get a date for my interview. Please does it take this long. It's 8months now. What can I do please. Anyone?

My passport is not ready / at the consulate. Can I still register and sit for the exam?
To register, all you need is a copy of your international passport. However, on the day of the exam, you MUST present the original copy of your passport. If your passport will not be available on the day of the exam, you have to pre-inform the language office at least 3 working days before the exam via email attaching the proof that your passport is indeed being processed at the immigration office, at the Austrian embassy or the German Consulate. The language department will then confirm whether you will be allowed to sit for the exam with or without it.
