Religion / Re: Archangel Michael Is Jesus Christ by bookface: 2:13pm On Sep 22, 2013 |
Maximus85: First, the fact that the Lord Jesus descends "with an archangel's voice" does not automatically mean that it is his own voice spoken of. This passage simply says that an archangel's voice will accompany the Lord's descent from heaven, in the same manner that the bailiff's voice "All rise!" accompanies the judge's entrance into the courtroom. Second, Hebrews 1:5 says, "For example, to which of the angels did he [God] ever say: 'You are my son; I, today, I have become your father'?" . The answer to the question is, of course, "none." Thus, if God never called an angel his Son, then Michael--who is an angel--cannot be the Son. The fact that Michael is an archangel does not change anything, as he is still an angel by nature. An archangel is simply a "higher order" of angel, but an angel nonetheless; "arch-" simply means "ruling" or "high ranking." Jehovah witnesses should really stop spreading filth! Lucifer himself was an arch angel, so was Gabriel. The bible says of Lucifer: Ezekiel 28:13 "You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering: the sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes was prepared for you on the day you were created." Isaiah 14 reveals the fall of Lucifer from the heights of heaven, which resulted in his status as the creature that he is today: "How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning...For you have said in your heart: 'I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation on the farthest sides of the north; I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.'" God creates angels, then he creates higher angels, but they all worship at the feet of Christ! When God brings His firstborn into the world, He says, ‘Let all God's angels worship Him.’ In speaking of the angels He says, ‘He makes his angels winds, his servants flames of fire.’ But about the Son He says, ‘Your throne, O God, will last forever and ever, and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom.’” The hierarchy of heavenly beings is made clear in this passage—angels worship Jesus who, as God, is alone worthy of worship. No angel is ever worshiped in Scripture; therefore, Jesus cannot be Michael or any other angel. The angels are called sons of God (Genesis 6:2-4; Job 1:6; 2:1; 38:7), but Jesus is THE Son of God (Hebrews 1:8; Matthew 4:3-6). |

Millenia: It is Like a phlegm to see Christians Tattoo their Bodies, Mostly some Young girls and others who are in church choirs and who attend churches have tattoo on various places of their Bodies. Rubbish! Of all the problems in the world, you reckon the most pressing subject on God's mind is that little tattoo you've got on your forearm? How about kids that are dying of starvation in Somalia? and Your pastors that would rather spend their billions on private jets than solve the world's problems? What is wrong with you stupId people for Christ sake? It is exactly because of rubbish preachings like this that have stopped or prevented many from turning to the Lord. You sound like the Pharisees who condemned the Lord for healing someone on Sabbath! - Knowing and living by the law is not how you make heaven, you dumb chit! Jesus was clear enough when he said their are two commandments: Love God and Love your neighbour! -- Love God with all your heart and your soul, then Love your neighbor with all your heart and your soul - nothing is greater, nothing is better, nothing more is required. It is because of people like this that i have stopped attending many churches. They are good at spinning a particular verse of the bible whilst ignoring the rest when it suits them - very much like the devil himself. They are good at making themselves look like saints, by pointing out your errors - "Oh brother bookface, you have sinned by looking at that pretty damsel over there because the book of Isiah said ...." Just Shut UP you ijiots! Blessed is he who realizes that the Bible itself is a guide. First it It teaches you history - by explaining how God related to people many centuries ago. Second It guides you through the present - by explaining how to learn to love God, to grow in the spirit, and to have a relationship with the Lord. Your daily relationship with the Lord is how you learn to avoid sin, your spirit simply tells you something is right and something is wrong. You CAN'T avoid sin by reciting every law in the Bible and checking them off a list. Third, it guides you into an expected future, and the coming of the king! Christians should stop listening to all these fake brothers and sisters, who simply want to pass of as the holiest of the holiest. 2 Likes |

If the Oga patapata of the church could be so unruly, undisciplined and thuggish, why expect anything better from the people he leads? Bible don talk am say in the last days, fake and yeye prophets/bishops go boku, so I'm not surprised by these at all, we are in an age where people revere their Bishops more than they revere God, and the Bishops themselves, have managed to occupy such positions where they become unquestionable and well above the law (afterall, touch not my anointed, shey?) these are indeed end time things. 8 Likes |

Foreign Affairs / Re: Obama Seeks Congress Approval To Strike Syria by bookface: 1:50pm On Sep 01, 2013 |
50calibre: No, i don't argue that the US is invincible, my argument is that going by the logic of MAD, Russian warships in the Mediterranean region will only stand by and watch should the US decide to strike at Syria. Russia has had its nuclear stockpile for decades. American war planners know this. - This is not a new development and it's not really something that American policymakers are worried about. American policymakers know that regardless of how much success they record with the START treaty, Russia WILL ALWAYS have a nuclear strike capability. Russia on the other hand is having to cope with recent developments in America's missile defense capabilities. Russian policymakers are extremely worried about this. If NATO extends further to the East and America develops its missile shield further, Russian nuclear deterrent may actually be threatened. Having a larger pile of nuclear weapons make no difference - Israel is estimated to have approximately 200 nuclear war heads, - an amount considerably smaller than what either the Russians or the Americans have. However, all 200, -some of which have capabilities that can inflict 50 times as much damage than what was witnessed at Hiroshima - can probably take down the whole of USA or Russia! I don't see how much more Russia could go in terms of arm sales to Syria. It's already supplied it with several of its advanced weaponry - anything more would be damaging to Russia's own interest, since Russia cannot predict the future of Syria, why supply it with weapons that may one day fall into the hands of Russia's adversaries? |
Foreign Affairs / Re: Obama Seeks Congress Approval To Strike Syria by bookface: 11:58am On Sep 01, 2013 |
50calibre: Russia moving its battle ships to the Mediterranean sea does not imply that Russia will strike American warships in the event that America strikes at Syria. The gesture is mostly symbolic to the Assad regime that he is not alone. The ships are also ready to convey thousands of Russians currently living in Syria back to Russia in the event of a major escalation. I have said several times, Russia can scream and shout, but they wouldn't risk complete damnation for anyone, much especially for a war torn Syria. Russian ships in the Mediterranean wouldn't stand in the way should congress vote for a US strike. |

Foreign Affairs / Re: Obama Seeks Congress Approval To Strike Syria by bookface: 11:23am On Sep 01, 2013 |
Being an American President must be tough! On the one hand, you have an army of critics ready to shell you with verbal missiles for being a spineless, gutless wimp who stood by and watch while Chemical weapons are deployed against humans, sending thousands to their painful deaths. These critics would further claim that the fact you stood by and did nothing has diminished America's influence in global politics and people would no longer revere an America that was once powerful and mighty. Of course, it's all your fault, you did nothing. These critics will cite the wise and prompt intervention of Bill Clinton in Kosovo, despite the huge protests and warnings of both Russia and China. This, they will claim, is how to wield the power that comes with being the POTUS! ....Your position is worse off if you've once declared a "red line" and the world is waiting to see if there's a bite behind your bark On the other hand, you've got an army of liberals, who just think it should be none of America's business if a bunch of jihadists and a brutal dictator supported by Hezbollah - are turning the cannons against themselves. There are no winners here, and frankly speaking, America has no friends on either side. These people will argue that America should mind its own business at home, they would argue that the country is going bankrupt after decades of needless wars that result in nothing. What difference does it make if someone uses a Chemical weapon vs someone who uses a conventional bomb? The end result is death - why make so much fuss about how it happens? They will claim that America should bring its troops home, engage in the promised "nation building", focus on where its core interests lie and those of its allies, and let the rest of the world kill themselves off if they must. ...Again, your position is worse off if you have once be handed the Nobel peace prize. If America intervenes, it loses, if America doesn't intervene, it loses. Russia on the other hand doesn't have to do anything - by sticking to the status quo, it wins. If America intervenes, Russia will simply say " Hey, we did our best to keep Syria from the hands of the blood thirsty sharks" - Russian public will applaud their government for this and further escalation of the violence in the region will be blamed on America. If America doesn't intervene, Russia will simply say "We stood firm and didn't let the blood thirsty sharks have Syria for dessert, they backed off one by one, from Britain, to France and now the US" - Russian public will applaud their government for this, and it's lost image as a superpower who can stand up to the West, will be restored. Obama's decision to seek congress approval is a wise one, although a risky calculation. If Congress approves, then he gets all the domestic legitimacy he requires for a strike - he wouldn't give an @rse what Russians think or say - American public have approved and that's all that matters to him. If he gets shot down at Congress, his image and reputation both domestic and internationally, will be badly tarnished. The goodwill he earned on foreign policy in his first term will be reduced to nothing and his party will struggle at the next elections. At the moment, it is a wait and see game. 3 Likes |

ocelot2006: 1) The biggest chunk of America's debt is owned by, guess who? The US federal government! The US Federal Reserve, U.S. government's military retirement fund, U.S. government's civilian employee retirement fund and the social security trust fund are the biggest holder's of America's debts! Overall, US entities, owns up to 66% of overall US debts! 2) The Chinese do not use the dollar - the Chinese use the Chinese yuan! Your argument of the Chinese dumping the dollar makes very little sense in this respect. If the Chinese refuse to use the dollar, what are they gonna trade with? Bearing in mind that the US is their second largest trading partner! 3) Russia's economy is actually in crumbles! The Russian economy has recorded its sixth straight quarter of declining economic growth. A year and half ago, Russian GDP growth was above 5%; now it’s barely above 1%, and the worst appears yet to come. The economy is well dependent on the price of oil staying high....of course, this is not guaranteed, and if as you argued, the US really wanted to sabotage Russia's economy, it will simply begin to export shale oil and gas to countries like Poland and the European union! US could simply kill Russia's economic influence in Europe! 4) Following from the last point, if US is interested in sabotaging Russia's economy, Obama would not have signed an agreement that allows Russia to ascend into the World Trading Organisation! 5) The Ossentia war demonstrated more of Russia's weakness than its strength. Its outdated Technology was immediately shown to be a huge weakness. If the US really feel the need to hurt Russia's position, it will simply extend NATO membership to Georgia and Ukraine.... ooops! the Bear would then have to simmer down afterall 1 Like |

I don't believe Assad actually gassed his own people. My bet is on the rebels, but the sharks are out and it appears there's very little prospects that a military strike will not be conducted within the coming days! Obama foolishly boxed himself in when he made that "red line" comment! and I'd wager that this adventurism is more about ego and saving face than it is about helping the Syrian people. Unfortunately, it's a slippery slope and it might well be the start of another world war - although Russia has mentioned that it does not intend to take any military action. But you can never predict the random nature of a war. Obama will hang himself completely in the court of public opinion if he chose to strike against Syria. Not only will the US lose any credibility it's got left, it will be hated more in the middle east, and it will be held responsible for any further bloodshed that occurs across the middle east - American public will also hate Obama for repeating the mistakes of Bush! The US military might is unquestionably the biggest and the fiercest in the world - its ability to deploy and have its forces within the zone of action within few days, is unrivaled. Russians come a distant second and China isn't even on the list of the big boys - although it must be said that what they lack in technology and modern weaponry, they make up for in economic strength and numbers. Russia is NOT on the same level with the United States. The former Soviet Union fielded a military strength that matches the West in everything from bombers, to subs to rocket technology. The Soviet Union was an equal match with the United States, Russia however is NOT! When the Soviet Union collapsed, the military complex was practically shut down. Russia still has its nuclear deterrence, but its technology is well outdated. Who would have thought that Russia couldn't manage to produce its own drones and needed to purchase one from Israel? Or that Russia needed to purchase mistral warships from the french? - The Soviet Union built everything at home, from the tiniest bullets to the biggest rockets. That said, i don't think Russia and the US will likely ever face off against each other. The stakes are just too high! They've been sabre-rattling for decades and that's how things are likely to remain - both countries will just keep running cold wars, engaging in actions that will cause an international embarrassment to the other - It must be said that no one is good at these games than the Russians |
Foreign Affairs / Re: US Rejects Syria Inspection, Insists On WAR!! by bookface: 7:05am On Aug 26, 2013 |
seanet02: Russia did not win the second world war, the Soviet Union did! Russia is NOT the Soviet Union! Russia is a lazy old hag, a shadow of the old Soviet Union's strength! After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russia's military complex was practically shut down. The old Soviet Union's doctrine was to build everything at home, from bombers to bullets, after its collapse, several of its industries and subcontractors were shut down, the military complex went from about 2000 companies to less than 900. The US on the other hand has been feeding it's military complex with billions of tax payer's money for more than 2 decades. It has fought and learnt from several conflicts over the years, Russia only had two - the first in Chechnya, the second in Georgia. While Russia won the conflict in Georgia, its Army displayed several military shortcomings that are reflective of Russia's poor standing as a military superpower. Russian forces entering South Ossetia lacked even basic intelligence regarding Georgian artillery positions and troop deployments, which led several of their leading units into costly ambushes. In one surprise attack, the 58th Army's senior commander, Gen. Anatoly Khrulyev, was badly wounded and had to be evacuated. In a desperate effort to get information, the Russians sent an electronic reconnaissance version of the Tupolev Tu-22M Backfire bomber over the battlefield and it got shot down. In all, Russia lost four planes, including three Sukhoi Su-25 attack fighters to unexpectedly effective Georgian air defenses. Some Russian commanders reported using cellphones to communicate with their units when their own radios failed. Russia's arsenal is full of Soviet era machines! The US has had its arsenal reformed and transformed with superior military technology over the years, it will take several decades for Russia to catch up - which explains why Putin is shitting in his pants and plans to rearm the Russian military over the next 10 years. Google up DARPA projects and see what American military planners are up to, those guys are badass! Yakhont, Sunborn and Iskander... I think it is super idiotic thinking that America does not have "answers" to the Yakhont, Sunborn or Iskander! Dude, America fought head to head with imperial Japan during the world war - deployed and used the the first nuclear weapon! The U2 spy plane - the first of its kind and an aircraft that was several decades ahead of its time - was developed and built under a year. America's nighthawk was developed and flown for 10 years before anyone got a whiff of it! If you really think a couple of missiles is what keeps these people up at night, then you shouldn't be putting up an argument on this thread! Either these missiles are probably not a significant threat or those guys at Lockheed Martin already have a solution for it. |

Jesus died at 33 years old, was that his time or not? It just doesn't make any sense. If God has said you will die in x years, then it should make sense that nothing will stop you from dying before year x. ---- so again, to you religious psychopaths who are afraid of death, how exactly does one die before their time? I wonder how long it will take for some Christians to realize that death is not really the worst thing to happen to someone. Trillions of people have come before you and Trillions more will come after you, so it wouldn't matter if you pray from dawn to dusk, death is an obligation that you MUST one day fulfill ....and last time i checked, that good' ol chariot of fire has not been seen on earth since the days of Elijah, so yes, brother, you shall likely die! If you do not want to die, then do something worthwhile with your life while you still can - your name will stay forever on people's mind and it will cross from one generation to another - Praying to God to lengthen then number of your days, just so you can enjoy more nollywood movies/time out with families only goes so far. In the end, it wouldn't matter if you died at 33 or your died at 100 - you would only have had 67 more years to account for! 2 Likes |

Donmams: Despite these inadequacies of the christian belief, i wonder why most christians refuse to accept criticism of their faith's inadequacies by other religions. Perhaps it will serve christians well to dig deeper into the message of islam. Christians should not fall into the stereotype that has been built by the West that Islam is a religion of terror. I invite christians to dig deep and they shall surely emancipate themselves from the slave masters called pastors and church leaders. Please shut up! Just shut up! I would rather a doctrine that admonishes followers to love one another than a doctrine that admonishes Jihad! What st00pid sterotype is built by the West?
