Naija Scam 101

Heads I win, tails you lose
-- Prophecy that something will happen
-- Tell the sheeple to either pray against it or pray for it
--- if that thing happens tell them "I the MOG, daddy of all daddies, have predicted this will happen"
--- if that thing doesn't happen tell them "Well, the Lord that answereth by fire has heard our prayers, shout hallelujah somebady"

Obviously Obvious

--- For individuals, prophecy that something will happen to someone in a gathering of 10,000 people
---- For the country, prophecy that something that can not be easily verified will happen e.g "This year, fire shall consume chains of slavery holding the country down"

LoL!

A drone flew on battery from Texas to Nigeria! ..and people believed that?! and someone employed someone to write a "newspaper" article on that?!

Little wonder many in the west judge Africans to have a low IQ on average!

The author came to the conclusion that "this" must have been one of US espinoage activities simply by the markings on the battery which started with "TX" ....how silly!

Why not prove how dumb I am? you dumbclat! please do, i beg you for the love of God, show me how dumb i am, and i might just go a little further to spill open your shallow intelligence!

Who in this age and time comes out with such bizarre idea anyway? Throw students in jail for 5 years for whispering in the exam hall? how stoopid!!! Yes it's wrong to cheat in exam halls and a punishment which serves as deterrent must be meted out .....but jail sentences must be reserved for the lowest scums of the society, not kids who may still have hopes for a greater future! .

Of course, i will be surprised if you understand this simple logic. Sorry, but you are simply not intelligent enough.

And i dare you to name one, just one sensible country where people go to jail for cheating in exams! go on, i dare you!

u mad bro?

Show me which "sensible" countries criminalizes exam malpractices so much so that it attracts even a year jail term?

Jails are for criminals - kidnappers, robbers, terrorists, and office looters - not kids whose lives can actually be transformed if given the right opportunity! -

A student who gets sent to jail for cheating on WAEC will most likely come out of jail and become completely useless to the society for the rest of his/her life. - who loses? Well, with your shallow mind, you might think the student does, but smart thinkers will realize that the society actually does! If every student that spends time in the pen comes out to be the thug that terrorizes thousands of people, the multiplier effect will be more dangerous than what you or your fellow shallow minded lawmakers could have thought.

A better way of deterring malpractice will be to void the candidate's exam papers and then ban them from taking that exam for 2 years. Also, the state must invest in "smart" test centres and structure more effective policies that will prevent questions from "leaking" prior to exam day.

Ujujoan:

Errrm . . . . not quite the same thing!

There is a difference huge between being 'taken away' and going voluntarily.

Most of these 'helps' are there voluntarily (with the consent of their parents) and can leave whenever they like.

Some leave after a day, some after a month, some after a year e.t.c. Nobody is forcing these parents to give up their children so comparing it to slavery is a poor analogy.

That alone changes the situation with these house helps. If a child is not being treated properly, h/her parents can take them away whenever they want.

Voluntarily? You really think the 12 year old kid who does your washing, cooks for your family, picks up the kids from school, cleans up when your kids shyte, runs to the market barefooted and endures your screaming, beating and abuse - does so on a voluntary basis?

Is that what you tell yourself to make you sleep better at night ?

Absolutely no difference between this case and the sugar cane plantation scenario. The kids under your roof are denied most of their basic human freedoms - of expression, of speech, of self determination. They are treated as lowly peasants whom given their poor "miserable" backgrounds, are not good enough to dine and wine at the same table as their masters. Like every kid of their age, they probably prefer to go out and build mud houses or run about in the sun all day - but you their slave masters will have them baby sit your own kids or cook the family's dinner! --- and your best excuse of course is that "they have been paid for" and "no one forced their parents to give away their kids"! ¬

Anyone who willingly participate in such disgrace is a filthy scum! Scums of the society, all lots of them!

Travel / Anyone In London Looking To Share A Flat? by bookface: 1:55am On Oct 29, 2013
Hi Guys,

I know this is not gumtree, but here it goes:

I will be looking to move from my current flat and find a new flat in London. I will be happy to meet with like minded folks who are looking to move to new flats themselves. I am looking at a maximum of four of us. We can go scouting for flats together and I am confident we will find some really decent flats within some really nice London subs going at 400 to 500 pounds a week. Splitting this four ways brings it closer to about 500 quid a month per person (or considerable less, depending on our luck)

I feel London is a lot more enjoyable when you are surrounded by your own people - it lessens the burden of the miserable weather, the boring food and the taxes we all hate to pay. Plus it also gives you a cool set of people to party with every weekend - the naija way! or do the occasional trip around Europe with.

It will be preferable to find young working professionals - if anyone thinks they might be up for this, please indicate your interest below. Thanks.

And I'm not trashing someones business, I just happen to have a problem with JUMIA's 5 days delivery policy.

Why on earth would i have to wait 5 days to receive an ordered Item, Within Lagos when i could as well go to the mall and get it.

5 days delivery policy for orders within lagos is just totally stupid and absurd if you ask me, C'mon i mean its Lagos... Why can delivery be same day..

AND Don't anyone say they are still growing because they are almost a year old now.

Secondly, A store which doesnt have Giftwrapping options, You can order gifts from them, Say My mum's Birthday is tomorrow morning, I cant place a fast order and have it delivered next morning, why then should i evn bother to waste my time on the website if it doesnt serve my most immediate needs.

They Do have their Plus sides too, but the service isnt comprehensive enough for me..

Please Share Experience.

If this is an option available to you, then why subscribe to a delivery service?

I bought an item on ebay last saturday - i live in the UK - and only got it on Thursday!!

If they really choose to offer a same day service - are you really willing to pay for it?

I'm disgusted to see people moan for just the sake of it.

Business / Re: FG To Convert Federal Reserves To Chinese Currency by bookface: 12:54pm On Oct 21, 2013
cap28: The handwriting is on the wall for the US dollar, it is now in its final death throes, no amount of printing of money by the Federal Reserve will save the US dollar from its imminent crash.

Nigeria is not the only country that is trying to dump the dollar, there are many other countries doing that behind the scenes and I can only imagine the level of panic going on now with the US govt.

This is definitely a good move by Nigeria and it indicates that many other country may already be doing the same thing.

For those who keep sayign that the crash of the US dollar will pull down the Remnimbi with it please be aware that China is currently trading with other far east asian countries, the EU , Australia and many african countries using its own currency , therefore its loss of the US market will not be as detrimental as many think,.

Many keep talking about how the Remnimbi is manipulated by the Chinese - so ? isnt the US dollar manipulated by the Federal Reserve? Why does the Federal Reserve keep printing money in order to assist the US govt in paying its bills - is it normal for a country that spends more than it earns to print money in order to pay its debts - is that not a form of currency manipulation and anyway the Chinese do not manipulate their currency they simply peg its exchange rate to the dollar in order to keept its exports cheap and affordable for its export market.
Which is worse? - printing your currency because you dont earn enough money thereby artificially inflating the value of your currency or keeping the true value of your currency low in order to increase exports of your products?

This situation was predicted about 2 years ago by many leading US economists and it is happening just the way they said it would.

Why should China and the rest of the world continue to trade with a country that purchases most of its imports on credit ? The US has been cheating the world and growing fat off the sweat of other countries of the world simply because the dollar is the world reserve currency and that is now going to be brought to an abrupt end.

The US is just going to have to learn to cut its coat according to its cloth, you cant keep buying things on credit and expect the world to keep you afloat, the US is simply not earning enough to keep up with its ridiculous spending sprees and now many of its creditors are finally coming to their senses and they are saying hey, enough is enough, if you dont earn enough then we are going to cancel your credit card until you learn to conduct your affairs like a responsible adult.

It will be interesting to see how the US reacts to Nigeria's move - i forsee extreme hostility on the part of the US govt.

Between May and September this year, emerging markets stocks fell by close to 20%, do you know why? Because the US Federal reserve threatened to shut the printing press!! -

Brazil, Russia, and India all had a crash in their currencies - see charts below (for russia, india and brazil)! China didn't because it's pegged against the dollar, but the effect set back china's growth (see chart below for China). It's simple - if the US shuts the printing press, funds will flow out of Emerging Markets back into the dollars! In September when the fed promised to keep printing money, the emerging market currencies rallied again from their record lows.

Emerging Markets actually need the US to keep printing money, else the IMF forecasted that several emerging markets could fall straight off into recession - particularly for countries like Russia and India. - These countries depend on foreign fund flows to keep their economies strong.

Additionally, printing money does not really increase your debt. With a debt that huge, the US will never pay it back! It can only do two things - either default on it, or inflate it away. The US is never going to default (or so it's assumed) so it's eventually likely to inflate it all away.

Finally you should know that most of US debt is owed to the US government itself. The US Federal reserve holds roughly 16% - so effectively the Federal reserve lends money to the treasury and the treasury pays interest to the federal reserve.....

Religion / Re: Reasons Why You Must Go To Church. by bookface: 12:08pm On Oct 20, 2013
ChEkWaS IyKe :

1) GOD SAID SO:
The Scripture is unambiguous in letting us know that God desires His children to attend church meetings. In Hebrews 10:25, the admonition is clear not to forsake the assembly (meetings) of the brethren, and even goes on to indicate that some were erroneously doing so.

Not forsaking the assembly of the brethren does not mean "going to church on Sundays". Assembling together doesn't have much to do with going to a set place on a set day, so much as just gathering together wherever whenever. This passage simply means gather and fellowship when you can! Going to church on Sundays is only a religious activity - Being a Christian and being religious are two different things.

ChEkWaS IyKe :

3) IT IS THE VEHICLE BY WHICH YOU FUNCTION IN THE BODY OF CHRIST:
A Christain is not a committed Christain until he demostrates his commitment in the local assembly, because the local assembly forms an integral part of the spiritual body of Christ, which is God's representative on earth. You can't function in that body until you function in the local assembly. The early church was made up of local assemblies, and several were mentioned in the epistles, for example Romans 16:5 and Revelation 3.

This is wrong! There's nothing like a "committed Christian" there's only one body and we are all one in that body - Christians! The Lord Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the Life - and NO ONE comes to the father, but through me" - Being born again and having a personal fellowship with the Lord makes you committed to him - going to your local church every Sunday does not make you a Christian.

ChEkWaS IyKe :

4) THE CHURCH IS THE PILLAR AND GROUND OF TRUTH (1 Timothy 3:15):
God wants His children to know the truth about life, because the truth makes you free from bondage and sets you at liberty. In the Church, you're taught the truth. In the absence of the truth, a man will believe a lie and bd a victim of it. For example the scriptures tell us that Jesus has abolished death, and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. In th Church, these truths are not only taught, but explanee. The teaching of God's Word is crutial for victorious living, and the Church is the primary placd for this.

Christ is the truth - and only him can teach the truth through the Holy spirit. You don't have to go to a set place at a set time to learn the truth. Christ already said "I am the way, THE TRUTH and THE LIFE", he also said in Revelations 3:20 " I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me" - You don't need to go to church to learn the truth when the truth already lives in you!

Additionally, with the number of false prophets disguised as wolves in sheeps clothing, one might as well avoid the church all together - as the bible puts it, "For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect." - what you hear your pastor saying may not be the truth - could be a huge lie from the depths of hell - remember that even the devil can quote the scriptures.

ChEkWaS IyKe :

5) THE CHURCH IS A PLACE OF FELLOWSHIP WITH OTHER CHRISTAINS:
Fellowship with other Christains is crucial to the growth of a believer. In Hebrews 10:24-25 we're admonished to provoke one another to love, and to good works. We're also to encourage one another. In Proverbs 27:17, the scriptures indicate that we sharpen ourselves as we fellowship. The company a man keeps will affect his life and grouth (1Corrinthians 15:33). So keeping and being found in the right company is desirable, and going to church facilitates this.

I agree with this - what i do not agree with is that the Church is "a place". The Church is a group of people who have accepted Christ as their personal lord and saviour and seek to worship him. The church could be three or four people in a sitting room just singing worship songs or hymnals to the glory of the Lord.

The Church is NOT a place where thousands of people of different minds/intentions flock to every Sunday in flamboyant dresses and flashy cars simply to fulfil a tradition. The Church is NOT a place where Pastors stand on the plupit and proclaim themselves to be "men of God" who can't be questioned. The Church is NOT a place where Pastors with riches and wealth demand that their poor followers bring a tenth of their earnings in return for "windows of blessings" -

CMGO: You pay your tithe in the church you receive God's blessings, as for christians that give their tithe to the poor and needy, you are only deceiving yourselves, it baffles me when humans act wiser than God.

God says bring your tithes to his house, the same way He says His house shall be called the house of prayer, so if you give your tithe to the poor you have only given alms which has its own reward but God still sees you as a robber.

Nothing stops you from paying ur tithes to church and still giving alms to the poor, both are God's instructions as written in the scripture & both are responsibilities of christians.

Liar!!

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

You Love God by spending time in worship!

You Love your neighbor by caring for their needs

Nothing else matters! This is the whole scripture summed up into two parts.

chaplin4u:

Malachi 3:8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. 3:9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. 3:11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts. 3:12 And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts.

Why is it the case that most Christians associate the house of the Lord to be a physical building -i.e your local church?

God doesn't live in buildings, he lives in people. According to 1 Corinthians 3:16 - Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and [that] the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

If you want meat to be in the house of the Lord, then you must bless people with your tithes. - Loving this way is consistent with what Jesus taught, lived and died for.

Your pastor does not need another Jet, your neighbour on the other hand need food to eat and a roof over his head, cater for him first with your tithe and God will bless you in multiple folds.

The word has left you behind. If it's any help, even hardcore supporters of western policy here, such as eGuerilla, do not bother disputing this commonly known fact.

You should seek help!

How you can live with yourself, putting up a senseless defense for a brutal murderer is beyond me. Perhaps you have some closet terrorist tendencies? You should hang your head in shame! Your hatred of the west and your blind defense for anything black has left you without a moral compass or common sense.

This is not a thread for discussion of global politics or the role of the West in funding Al-Qaeida. This is a thread for the murder of Lee Rigby - an event which left the entire world shocked to pants! For you to claim that this must have been nothing short of conspiracy theory is nothing but an insult to the the victim's family and all those whose lives have changed by witnessing the horrific manner by which Lee Rigby was hacked to death!

True enough, everyone charged with a penal offence has the right to be presumed innocent until proved guilty according to law in a public trial at which he has had all the guarantees necessary for his defence. They have a right to have their day in court, this right DOES NOT MAKE THEM INNOCENT! If you do not understand the difference, then perhaps, your confusion is from your comprehension abilities?

This same "western practice" allows you to make the choice between being a Religious Fanatic, an atheist or somewhere between!

I'm not sure i understand this -

Many people complain about Western values - but they openly and unashamedly embrace its science and technology. - It seems nothing but hypocritical that one may wish to embrace one and condemn the other. Much more like the religious fanatics in the North - they hate Western education, but they love their mobile phones -

Religion has brought nothing to mankind save fanaticism, hatred and bloodshed. Western democracies, although not complete at least recognize that people ought to live by their own conscience! Humans must be free to think and choose without being bound like slaves under the shackles of religious fanaticism.
