Every job has its own ethics, and the army is not an exception. I think in this case, the female soldier is being punished for having an indiscreet amorous relationship with the corps member, and clearly being distracted from her primary assignment in the camp as an instructor.

I do not think it's marginalization of the female. Simply put, every organization has its rules, which, for the army includes that a female soldier must not get married nor have babies within the first three years of service. I believe she knew the rules and she wasn't coerced into joining.

Yes, the punishment is harsh, from our emotional point of view. But the female soldier's circumstance does not run parrelel to the other proposals the op has highlighted.

I think this would depend on your location, in the western world, you would have to declare for some tax reasons I think, In Nigeria, not necessarily especially if one doesn't affect the other.

Declare to the agency in charge of tax, for instance the IRS, but not necessarily to either of your employers.
