No Obama was not that nvervous. He did sense that the judge was wrong and that was why he paused. He must have recited that oath several times and the moment the judge made a mistake, he knew.

That's what a member of parliament said this morning on BBC Radio 4 that the gy was wrong and Obama was actually right. However guys, the question remains that "could there be a cnotest (by people) regarding the laws Obama had signed into force in the last 24hours he had been the president since it seems now he was an illegitimate president till when he said the oath properly?"

He seemed to have put himself in that position and I'll love to know what people think.

I'm beginning to swing more towards the people criticising this dude for not finding an alternative first before detroying people's means of livelihood.

I can't believe Lucabrasi thinks that the people who have taken their time to argue the pros, cons and to get a bigger picture as well as even waster at least 5hours of their time on Sunday to chat with the governor himself would end up on your list as naysayers.

To be honest, I don't think anyone is beign negative here. I think they're rather asking questions around the project. Basically, seeing a bigger picture and I think that's good for any mega project as this one.

I think your questions would have to wait as you are well aware of the way Nigerian politicians do their things;i.e. not keeping the people informed.I hope this would change and once people could closely scrutinise the project, the buzz the project would generate would obviously strengthen the government's will to make sure it succeeds.

IT's a massive project though and still, AI hope it succeeds.

That's very true though. I hope people's means of livelihood are not being sacrificed for these nice blocks. Nigerian politicians could be very cunny and unforgiving.

I wish I could know your stance on this because though he's got dual nationality, you could at least see his efforts to gather people so as to protest to the government in expressing his rights, he aklso did a lot of things in Nigeria in terms of financially supporting the needy.

When things are wrong, the ordinary Americans tried to correct it for free. When people drive on the wrong side of the road, police arrest them while in Nigeria police collect bribes and in fact escort them on that same wrong side of the road which they’re driving. At least in Nigeria, you don't read of any working psychiatric hospitals while they have a lot of them in America (does that make the patients that are taken there insane?). Plus the American government have not kept the hospital budgets in their own personal bank accounts while Nigerian government have done exactly the same.

a)it will be installed in blacks spots, meaning crimes like one chance,vandalism of government  property,muggings and rapes, kidnapps and ritual killings e.t.c will have a fighting chance of being monitored, if you are familiar with criminal behavior, ill suggest you flick through the chicago school, criminals who operate in an area do so regularly i.e they wont operate in ikeja today then migrate to victoria island, they tend to stick to their regular watering holes,especially the types of crime i v listed above,meaning the cctv will capture the major and minor criminals in these black spots and they ll be easier to aprehend,

You seem to forget that (if you read from page 1 or thereabout), that was my question to Fashola when we were online (on Sunday through the chat with KoboJunkie andSkyBlue) that we want poverty alleviation first or the better functioning of the police rather than the CCTV but he said “CCTV is not fully a government initiative but a co-operation of the government and the private sectors”. So all this CCTV this CCTV that means jack shit because he only wants to protect the companies and not the people.

Lucabrasi, as much as I like to read your post and most times I agree while sometimes I disagree (which is normal I suppose), why are you still supporting Fashola and basing your fact on hear say rather than we (myself, KoboJunkie andSkyBlue) hearing from the horse’s mouth that the CCTV is what I said above.

CCTV IS NOT FOR THE SAFETY OF THE CITIZENS BUT FOR THE SAFETY OF THE COMPANIES THAT WOULD BE BANKROLLING IT.

@ SkyBlue that comment was made out of sheer frustration (I hope you could read that in me). However, about the CCTV, you could tell (from the online chat with Fashola) that the whole project would probably be 30% government and 70% company i.e. he wants the private companies to get involved in the project and protect themselves and then the public would still suffer because the CCTV is nor really in their interest but in the interest of the companies sponsoring the projects.

I hope you still understand that as successful as the project could be, it’ll have little effect on the average Nigerian citizenry as they’re not being guarded by CCTV but the companies are.
And guess what I’ll do if I were a criminal (which I know a lot of criminals would do), there’ll be a change of tactics and instead of robbing companies that have CCTV installed, they’ll start robbing private Nigerian citizens as they’re not being guarded by the state funded camera. So whichever way you look at it, the CCTV in fact would put the people at more risks while the private firms that support the project and bankrolled it with their own cash would be well protected.

You know, let's even put the issue of CCTV on ice whether it's going to work nor not. But for God's sake, it's not rocket science to see that the masses are still living from hand to mouth. What's the big deal in dealing with that?
