JUST A LITTLE ADVICE TO THE DEVELOPERS OF EYOWO.

While you are here answering to all the questions thrown at you, Some people are out there building on what you already have and working on your shortcomings. So, the best thing you can do right now is to leave unanswered questions, go make that "already ringing" name for yourselves and don't get carried away by criticisms. Take the best part of all contributions and run away with it.

With regards to the designer of Oyo State Website, You are (or going to make) a very good UI designer, but please outsource the front-end development to a very good Front-end developer to turn that to a functioning website.

Leaving it that way offends the practice of web design and hinders the accolades you're supposed to receive.

My opinion.

Ok This line drugs!
Are you satisfied?
slow down man! that might not be Royce at its best, but please give dude his props. . . The rihanna line was supposed to be dramatic and funny, and he said "HI RIHANNA", with the assumption that Rihanna was going to be at the BET Awards watching or definitely going to watch it someplace else. They previously met in an event where Rihanna said she's a fan of Royce's music. . . and so it was a reference to that, Just plain funny.

Royce held his horn when Hip Hop had meaning. The beef wasn't against Eminem alone, but against D12 as a whole. And to go against Bizzare, Proof, Kuniva, Eminem at the same time, then you're not just an average emcee.
Music/RadioRe: Nigerian Rappers On BET Cypher (BET 2011 HipHop Awards) by bouzymill2: 10:35pm On Oct 23, 2011
These days, Every Shukura, Iyabo and Ibinabo wants to analyze Hip Hop lyrics. . . *smh*.

The artiste selection for that cypher alone shows that Nigeria knows little next to nothing about Hip Hop. It's not about the biggest names, it's about their abilities to deliver top notch lines without necessarily saying I got paid to do whatever (Sup Iceprince). . .

I like XO's ability to pen insightful and "make sense" lines but you've got to have the theatrical abilities to deliver your punchlines. Not jumping up and down with your hands up in your balls like Chris Brown meets Igbo. . .  The good use of the hand and other gestures are basic skills every good emcee should know . . .

And as per XO's delivery, my personal instance is this,  I like Flesh-N-Bone's lyrics, always penned nicely. . . but you can't compare it to Bizzy or Krazy Bone's lines. While Flesh is lyrically crazy, The latter duo beat him to delivery. so it's simple, lyrics + delivery will always win lyrics and poor delivery

There is a fine line between "I too Know" and Intelligence, so I get it when people usually see Modenine as been arrogant, but to use the cypher as an example, isn't it super obvious that, M9 understands hip-hop waaaaaaaaaaaay better than these guys in the cypher. . . (Check his hand gestures while delivering in that cypher. they explained the lines well)

plus, something else worked for M9, other rappers there physically showed their respect. . . and that helped his delivery,  Same thing worked for Eminem. (M.I introduced him in the cypher as "The legend, Modenine

It's very funny that I haven't seen this thread before I wrote my sincere comment to Frosbel. This guy really needs to slow down.

@Frosbel

I really think you need to slow down on your posts. I know you're talking about the Roman Catholics and I'm a Muslim. It's not my business really. But what gives me this concern is, I realize you are reading things from anywhere and anyhow you see them. ain't nothing wrong with seeking knowledge and knowing little things about many things but I have realized that you only seek knowledge but you lack the wisdom to understand them.

There's a big difference between knowledge and wisdom. . . and a concept that is so far from these two is "Divine or Spiritual wisdom". We all can read anything from the scriptures and interpret them to match our modern day knowledge or the limit of our wisdom, but for one to understand concepts that have to do with religion or spiritual issues, We need to seek wisdom fro m God to lead us through the right path and help us to interpret our knowledge.

When someone has the urge for seeking knowledge but lacks divine wisdom, he questions everything around him, and ask blasphemous questions. . . Say blasphemous things. When he's done with points outside things around him, He starts to question is own belief system, He starts to ask why why why? and this is where the madness comes in. We see people like them in our gathering, and we mere mortals see them as being knowledgeable but slightly abnormal. Not knowing God is taking his soul little by little. People like that commits suicide.

My point outside all those blah blah is, Seek God's wisdom while reaching for misleading books and websites that you often read from cos one day, one of the websites or books will tell you, there's nothing like JESUS, and you would start questioning that too.

Peace.

ProgrammingRe: Creating A New Face For Nl by bouzymill2: 8:49pm On Sep 03, 2011
I don't understand something about this thread. The title says "Creating a new face for NL".  and as interesting as the posts are so far, I can't really get why you all jumped into conclusion that something had to be done to it from back-end. talking about Cms, framework, and stuffs. The first point of call in any redesign is to ask "What exactly is wrong with the current system?". That's the problem and as designers/developers, what we do is solve problems. So, we have identify what is it that Nairaland lacks and (or) needs to remove and so on.

I'm not a back-end developer or a web Security expert. But I know Nairaland had issues with the Spambot stuff and that i guess has been relatively resolved. In my own opinion and as the thread title suggests, what Nairaland needs is a refined "Face". The issue it needs to resolve is more in the front-end than the backend. the layout of nairaland is still built using "Tables" which is so 1999. though, this has not in any way affected its performance but getting better is never a bad idea and using TABLES has no excuse these days. Also, in terms of information architecture, Nairaland needs to be structured in such a way that things are placed in the right places and ordered in the right manner. For instance, USERS' birthday needs to be structured in a way that people would actually want to be interested in greeting others when its their date (this gesture/interaction might not sound necessary but it is very important on a site that thrives on user-generated contents. it makes it come alive more!!!!). Also and very importantly, the search button has no reason to be at the bottom. It absolutely has no excuse for that. this and a lot needs to be dotted out before talking about the solutions.

Just my take. Thanks.
Foreign AffairsRe: I Will Not Surrender - Gaddafi by bouzymill2: 2:51am On Sep 03, 2011
People need to understand something. We can't just be clouded by the wrongdoings of Gadhaffi been a dictator. He is not the only dictator in the Arab world. Saudi Arabia is being ruled by one family through history, Same thing goes for Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and all these countries. One could now wonder why Gadhaffi has constantly being the scape goat and for those who don't know, this is not the first time these people are after Gadhaffi.

I'm not saying Gadhaffi is a good man or he hasn't done anything bad to deserve what he's getting but the underscoring point is that, Nato and Co. are helping Libyans for the sake of democracy is one big lie that we just keep feeding ourselves. Libyans have lost their country and sold their soul. Bad enough, the westerners have bought the mainstream media. so sad.

Abdel Hakim Belhadj, who is a strong Al_Qaeda, is now being seen by these westerners as the agent of change. coming from prison to become the De facto Military leader recoginzed by the Westerners. One begins to wonder when Al_Qaeda became a friendly word with the Western countries.

You think removing Gadhaffi is taking too longhuh Wait till you see how long it takes Libyans to chase the westerners out of their country.

There are different ways to tackle the underlying malaise.
In this case, the malaise is political, it is the born to rule attitude some have. It needs to be tackled, quartered, diced and flushed down the toilet.
I totally understand your point and I know for sure, it is political. though, some people will attack me and say, "it is only a fool that would think it's political" but hey, That my opinion. However, the scenario of "tackled, quartered, diced and flushed" is definitely what should happen even if they are not political. Infact, it is the same tactical approach to stop any organized crime . the main point is there's need for something to be done as fast as possible before these guys strike again.

It is rather shameful if CNN could get to the Boko Haram spokesperson when Nigerian journalists can't even give correct names of those involved. It shows our backwardness in so many things. and this lackadaisical attitude is what the federal government is showing in this case. This " i don't really care attitude" is still the same reason Nigerians are really suffering in Libya right now.

I'm not trying to downplay the "politicalness" of this. . . but the face is, it's an "offside" point to the pressing issue which is for GEJ to do something concrete.

Are there different methods to catch criminals if it is political or religious?
Now this is a good point to wake these guys up from their "offside" argument. The question, "is it political or religious?" has almost nothing to do with the criminal act these guys have committed. You can ask that question as a political analyst just to be able to make sense out of the political atmosphere in Nigeria. not neccesarily using it as a weapon to defend the stupidity of the government.  The fact that someone says it's political doesn't mean it is no more a criminal act. it doesn't mean there's another method of arresting the culprits. it is also not an excuse for the federal government.

They have killed people unjustly and as such, the government should take a bold step in finding an end to it. The intention, political or religious doesn't really matter in interpreting the law.

My opinion.

I have done extensive personal study and the main reason I copy certain articles, only after carefully scrutinizing them and making sure that they agree with my previous research, is because I have this professional motto, why reinvent the wheel , which means if there is an article out there written nicely to tie in to what I understand is true, then I recycle it  ( in come cases with some editing ) and post it for debate.
and in the years of your POSTING TO DEBATE, have you gotten any other result besides argument going to lines after lines without any concrete solution.

Why do you waste your time searching conspiracy websites, copying and pasting what you saw there everywhere? What are you spreading? Word of God or what? You have posted in more than 8 threads. 4 different threads on attacking muslims over Boko haram. and others on very useless assertions that you copied from websites aimed at making points by all means necessarily.

You know the irony of this all? The Boko Haram and other fundamentalists started just the way you have started. Going around saying stuffs and what not. Claiming to be knowledgeable while all you do is just go to websites and copy what you see. From there, you start to make your surrounding Muslim free and small time, you have an organization that is out of bounds for Muslim and from there, you see a Muslim in pains and dying, you ignore him/her because he/she is a Muslim. You see a muslim in need of something in a place you have the power and the next thing you do is block his way. and I'm sure you will justify your actions.

All for the sake of been religious right? Have you asked yourself in the 4 corners of your room "AM I IN THIS BEST OF RELATIONSHIP WITH MY GOD?" or you've jsut been fooling around posting what you don't know a thing about.

My Brother's very close friend, a female, Ramat, who works in the UN Abuja died in the Bomb blast yesterday. Yes, She is a Muslim devout who wears Hijab and pray 5 times a day. Why was she and other muslims not singled out from the blast since it's war against "the christians" right?

You need to open your eyes and see the world is not about Christians or Muslims, Whites or black, Yoruba or Hausa, West or North, East or South. It is simply about Good and Evil and only God has the powers to open people's heart and teach them the truth and not your evil stunts of posting everything anti-Islam everywhere. It gives you nothing more than ridicule.

Only God is knowledgeable.

Each oyes volunteer collects 10,000 naira monthly including those with degrees $ masters, And these volunteers will be more productive than these workers when the program takes proper shape.
I support the workers to scrap the oye wateva if volunteers with degrees and masters are paid 10,000 Naira monthly.  Even the word "volunteer" make it seem like they have something else they do for a living. But the point is they dont. that's their J.O.B

hercules07:
See PDP peeps, what you guys do not understand is that the people of Osun state will never vote PDP, they not only misruled, they were also killing.
That's a total falsity. I was in Osun state during the whole Bisi Akande tenure and was even there during the Oyinlola era throughout. When Bisi Akande was going, you would think the people of Osun State would never vote AD or AC again. No one knew Oyinlola really during the election at that time. He was contesting for a senatorial seat around that time. People voted for PDP out of the fact that they just don't want to see AD or AC there anymore. This is the same reason Omisore won his senatorial seat straight from prison. It was all sympathetic.  however, at the end of the day, They also chased Oyinlola like they did to Bisi Akande. So, tell me how it is impossible not to vote PDP again, if AC fails. . .

The serious tip to failure is "Mess with the Civil Servants". . .
